Ein Juwel am Tafelberg

Andreas und Afrika waren von Anfang an wunderbare Gastgeber! Das Bird's Nest ist sehr sauber, sicher und ruhig. Das Studio ist umgeben von Grün und spektakulärem Blick auf den Tafelberg. Die Bilder werden diesem Studio in Traumlage nicht gerecht, die phantastische Kulisse vom Lions Head hinterm Bird's Nest und der Tafelberg davor sind unglaublich. Was für eine tolle Lage, man ist nur wenige Gehminuten von den Cafés, Bars und Restaurants in der angesagten Kloof Street entfernt, ist aber in wenigen Minuten wieder im ruhigen und grünen Paradies! Birds Nest ist ein architektonisches Meisterwerk mit Parkplatz abseits der Straße und eigener Garage sowie eigenem Pool. Andreas und Afrika waren sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir fühlten uns privilegiert, diesen besonderen Ort zu erleben. Ich und meine Frau verstehen die letzte Kritik an diesem Juwel überhaupt für uns eine völlig ungerechtfertigte eine Beleidigung für eine solch tolle Unterkunft! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und werden diesen Ort auf allen unseren Freunden empfehlen! Vielen Dank für einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt!

Priced twice what it is worth

It is hard to write this review after meeting one of the owners, Africa who was a very neat guy. Unfortunately, despite his wonderful personality, we had a less than satisfactory experience. First, the description does not include the fact that there are an amazing amount of steps + a small spiral staircase extremely difficult to navigate especially for a senior. Second, it was difficult to make contact and continued when we had problems. We asked for days for them to pay the cable bill so we could see TV and no action took place for more than half our trip, we really should receive some type of refund! Thirdly, the pictures look great but in fact, it is very tired and run down, needs paint and the under mats for the area carpet and sofa to prevent them from sliding out from under you. The shower had mold in numerous spaces and there is no electrical outlet in the bathroom. So many nicer properties were half of the price than this one. Despite being in Africa the owners have decided to price in Euros to drive up the price. The fact is we have been using VRBO since 1995 and this was one of the most expensive ones we have booked it truly isn't worth even half of what we paid so yes we got taken for over $1,000! Yes, it had a pool but it wasn't heated and was of no value. We have never said this before about any property but we would strongly advise against booking this property as it is obvious the owners care more about ripping people off than being a Super Host!

do you want to really take advantage of Table Mountain? Then rent the nest - outstanding, inside and out. Could not be nicer or more consiencious hosts, too.

Traum-Unterkunft

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche im Birds Nest: - das Studio sitzt erhöht mit spektakulärer Aussicht auf Kapstadt und den Table Mountain. - sehr sauber. Nach der Hälfte des Aufenthalts wurde sogar nochmal alles gereinigt. - fußläufig zu Restaurants und Cafés. - die Kommunikation mit Andreas und Afrika war super. Schnelle Antworten, Tipps für Restaurants und Touren rund um Kapstadt und allgemein sehr gastfreundlich. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und können das Studio zu 100 Prozent weiterempfehlen.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Bird´s Nest. We can 100% recommend the Bird´s Nest!

The property is walking distance from Kloof Street and in a wonderful neighbourhood. The property is spacious, just prefect for a couple. The full windows allowed for breathtaking views to table mountain. Best in class taste and furniture.

Einzigartiges Studio mit Super Rundumblick

In der ruhigen Villengegend Higgovale direkt unter dem Tafelberg gelegen, besticht dieses Studio mit Luxus Design und einmaligem Blick auf den Tafelberg, den Lions Head und die Skyline von Kapstadt. Besonders während der Dunkelheit kann man kaum aufhören, das Lichtermeer des City Bowl zu bewundern. Morgens sitzt man auf der Veranda zum Frühstück und kann die Gondeln auf dem Weg zur Bergstation des Tafelbergs beobachten. Hier ist das ideale Basislager, um "Mutterstadt" und die weitreichende Umgebung mit den romantischen Weingebieten zu erkunden. Alles entspricht der Objektbeschreibung bei HomeAway: Mit dem Auto 5 min in die City und Waterfront, 5 min an die Strände von Camps Bay mit vielen Shops und Restaurants und 5 min auf den Signal Hill zum Sonnenuntergang. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und vor allem nicht zu aufdringlich! Die beiden Haus- und Hofhunde sind dagegen sehr anhänglich und verschmust, hinterlassen allerdings auch gern mal einen Haufen auf der Sonnen- und Liegewiese des Studios, gleich neben dem erfrischenden Pool unter alten Eichenbäumen, die regelmäßig Besuch von einer ganzen Eichhörnchenfamilie bekommen. Die Lage des Studios "on top of the hill" ist der Wahnsinn, aber auch die schmale hohe Wendeltreppe nach oben. Volle Koffer für 3 Wochen oder umfangreiche Einkäufe mit viel Stellenbosch Wein sind hier eine echte Herausforderung. Nächstes mal bringe ich ein Flaschenzug mit, denn wiederkommen tun wir auf jeden Fall. Einen schöneren Fleck zum Wohnen in Cape Town gibt es wohl kaum, wir wären jedenfalls gern für immer geblieben!!!
