About this property

Situated in the Mato Serrao part of Carvoeiro, just 1.5 km north west of the picturesque and highly popular resort centre, Vila Nova is an attractive, well maintained, low rise collection of thirty six apartments built in the older, more traditional Portuguese style.

Our apartment is ground floor and has a spacious living/dining room with private WiFi, Smart TV & DVD player (small selection of DVDs), and small book library. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, open plan lounge/diner and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite shower room with walk-in shower. The twin bedroom has two single beds. The family bathroom has a bath and separate walk-in shower. At the rear of the apartment is an enclosed private courtyard with patio furniture, sunbeds & BBQ. To the front of the apartment is an informal enclosed area with dining table and seating. Outside at the front is a small patio with outdoor table and chairs. A cot and high chair are available. The living room also has a wood-burning stove (for the cooler winter months).

Ideal for family holidays, Vila Nova has a grassy children's play area, a large communal swimming pool (unheated) with sunbeds and sun shades, plus a kids paddling pool, pool table, restaurant & snack bar, mini-market and reception. Vila Nova offers free guest WiFi around the pool. The Vila Nova restaurant on the complex is excellent and reputed for its fresh fish (note the restaurant closes during the winter months and is closed on Sundays).

Relaxation

We have visited this area for many years. This is our second stay at 2C Vila Nova. Property is spacious. Plenty seating areas. Comfortable settees in lounge. Main bedroom and en-suite modernised recently. Beds comfortable. Kitchen well equipped,could do with an update as could 2nd bathroom. Showers are good. We had to ask for outdoor loungers as one broke and others were in a bad state. Quickly replaced with extra loungers from pool area. Lovely shared pool just 30 second walk from apartment as well as a small toddler pool. Plenty of restaurants in town but we can’t find any to beat the on site Vila Nova restaurant. The chef’s fish cookery is excellent. Never had a sub-standard meal here.Staff are friendly and welcoming. Property is ideally situated, 15 minute walk to town centre Can walk back but it is uphill. Taxis readily available. We hired a car as my husband is not able to walk far. Did a lot of sightseeing and visited other areas of Algarve easily. This is a quiet area so suits older couples and young children alike. Another very enjoyable relaxing holiday in the Algarve

Wonderful family holiday

Spacious and cool property, well located near to Carvoeiro. Property had everything you would need and more, items such as balsamic vinegar and salt, pepper etc had been left which was great - many places dispose of this type of thing incuring unnecessary waste. The pool was ideal and the food at the restaurant was delicious. We would 100% return

Fantastic stay!

Lovely house in a lovely part of the world. The pool is clean and quiet. The outdoor patio allows for al fresco dinners. It is 15 min walking from the beach downhill and is just 3/3.80€ for a taxi/Uber back from town. Carvoeiro is lovely and has a lovely beach. It is very easy to find and near Portimao and another places. The boat tour to the caves is a must. This house is in a quite family friendly palced but you will not feel like you do not belong if you are not a family. The restaurant near the pool is lovely with fresh fish and really good wine. Very positive experience. We count on return! Excellent price for money

Enjoyable.

We did enjoy our stay but the fact that the garden lost the sun at around 3.30 was disappointing as at this time of year it was cold then. No English TV channels was disappointing. Needs new sofas. Good bedding and towels. Lovely bathrooms. Spotlessly clean.

Property location/suitability

A very nice and well equipped apartment, the location is quite remote from Carvoiera centre but did have 2 restaurants within easy walking distance. I would be very happy to rebook this apartment

Improvements

Whilst we were happy with the accomodation we must complain about 2 issues. The pillows were old and very stained .Also the towels were so thin you could see through them. The bath taps were extremely stiff and very little water came out. These issues we managed and overall we enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was excellent. We would have liked more information in the apartment about walking to the beach and town as we thought we were near enough to do this - there was never any parking available if we took the car. Perhaps we should have made more enquiries.

Nice location

This is a comfortable, spacious, well equipped apartment in a very nice little development. We stayed out of peak season and it was pleasantly quiet and restful. The pool area is very pleasant, it’s a shame so many guests feel they have to leave towels on beds all day in spit of notices asking them not to. The restaurant was great, good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. This part of Carvoeiro is on a hill behind the centre, a popular location with views to the sea. The town and beach are a pleasant 15min walk. Vila Nova is a good base, we would go again.

A stylish property with good access to the town.

This was immaculate and a well maintained property. We arrived at night and it was very easy to find with the details given. The kitchen facilities were exceptional with plenty of utensils and good cooking facilities. Maid service was regular and appreciated. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of storage. The site was small with a lovely swimming pool area providing a tranquil place to relax. The property is close to the town and it would not be essential to have a car but recommended to make the most of the area and for shopping. Would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it.

Property very clean and comfortable

Very good accommodation, kitchen facilities excellent. Disappointed only one sun lounger on rear patio and would definitely benefit from English TV for those evenings when relaxing at home. Pool area and restaurant on site first class. Town easily within walking distance providing you're reasonably fit. Overall a great holiday.

Great place to stay

The apartment was very spacious and was perfect for the four of us and was well equipped, just like a home from home. A secure patio at the rear which is great for young families and a great place to enjoy breakfast. A real bonus was the apartment stayed lovely and cool, even in the scorching weather. The pool was great for small children with an extensive shallow end, but still enough space for adults. The small shop on the complex was very convenient and baked fresh bread every morning. The lady working in there was very welcoming and was great with our two boys. We enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant, and again, this is very convenient when you feel like a lazy day. It is a 15 minute walk down to Carvoeiro, which was easily manageable, even with our 4 year old boys. If we visited Carvoeiro again, then we would definately think about staying here. Carvoeiro is a lovely place, and we would recommend it for young families.

Lovely family accommodation

This is our second visit to apartment 2C this time we had our 18mth grandson Blair and we had a brilliant time. Apartment was ideal for Blair very safe patio and the pool and play park on complex ideal. The apartment is very well equipt with cot & highchair provided and the maid service excellent. Fantastic sized apartment in great location

We have just returned from a week here and it was fabulous! The apartment is very spacious and well equipped; washing machine, dishwasher etc. The owners have really made this a home from home with excellent information on the surrounding area. The terrace was ideal for evenings in with a BBQ and large table and chairs. The complex is lovely, with a great pool and comfy sunloungers - always a must! The restaurant serves beautiful food and the location is good. About a 10 minute walk in, 15 minutes back up a few hills, but nothing we couldn't manage with our toddler! The town itself is lovely, with lots of restaurants to choose from. I highly recommend the walk from the town to Algor Seco, a bar/restaurant set in the cliffs and made easily accessible with a buggy with the new boardwalk. I would highly recommend this apartment for a wonderful holiday!

Lovely apartment within walking distance Carvoeiro

Great holiday accommodation

This property was very well appointed with everything we needed. The property is in a lovely complex with a well maintained communal area, play park and pool. The on site restaurant was the best we ate in during the holiday. The villa was clean, spacious and well organised. There was extra bedding for the colder nights and plenty of towels. I Would certainly recommend this villa and hope to go back myself as soon as possible

Spacious, comfortable, well situated apartment

A well appointed apartment on the pleasant well established Vila Nova complex, walking distance to Carvoeiro, but only a short drive to several other beautiful local beaches and attractions. Supermarkets also a short drive away. The Vila Nova shop was closed when we stayed in April, not sure if that was just a seasonal thing. The restaurant on site is well worth a visit. The apartment is well presented, well maintained, clean and well equipped. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely book again. The only thing missing for me would be internet access, but that may not be a requirement for everyone.

Loved It

We have just returned from the Vila Nova and can honestly say we had an absolute ball. The apartment was just what we needed for 2 couples (my wife and me and my son and his partner) and our 2-year old grandson. The complex is small and secluded, which suited us fine, but it did mean that we were glad to have a car. The staff in the on site restaurant, reception and the little shop were wonderfully friendly and full of useful advice. I hesitate to big this place up too much as I would like it to be available again when we want it! - which we certainly shall. Nonetheless, I feel I should say something about the restaurant as it truly is a hidden gem. The fresh fish in particular was extremely good although I have it on authority from the big meat eaters in the party that the spare (they didn't look that spare to me) ribs were also very good. I would also like to mention that the kiddies play area and pool were a great boon. All 5 of us had a truly wonderful time and shall return.

Very good family complex

The property is very well maintained and clean. The description was accurate regarding location, layout and facilities. The owner was very helpful and easy to contact regarding last minute questions. We chose not to hire a car which proved to be fine as we stayed local this time. We pre-booked taxi to and from airport which was a lot cheaper. The walk into the town and nearby restaurants were no more than 15 mins. We used the shops in town for food and beer, up-hill walk back to the appartment was slow in the heat, good thing we bought beer! Basic supplies were available from the mini-market on site but not Sundays. We would like to return next year and have already recommended to family who have young children. On our last evening we ate at the restaurant on the complex which served superb food at reasonable cost. Loved the pool area which was kept clean and tidy. Really lovely relaxing time.

Great Family Apartment

We have just returned from our first family holiday in Portugal and we had a fantastic time. This apartment is one of the best we have ever stayed in - loads of space, very well-equipped, cool even in the August sunshine and on a lovely complex within walking distance of the town. The beaches in the surrounding area are all beautiful and we were spoilt for choice as to where to go each day. Also a good location for the water park and for driving to other local areas - we went to Lagos, Portimao and also into the mountains. None of us wanted to come home and we would love to go back one day!
