AMAZING!

The Brennan tour is amazing! The location is perfect. It's secluded and private, but close to local amenities, and a short drive to lots of great spots to eat, drink, shop and relax. The binder provided by the owner has a TON of great recommendations. The tower itself has everything you need for a perfect get-away!

Very unique and private.

One of the most interesting places we have ever stayed. Brenner Tower is smartly decorated, truly unique style with an interesting history. We loved the views from the kitchen, and the privacy. It is a short drive to most everything in Door County, including Washington Island. Lots of stairs and close quarters might make it better for a night or two stay, rather than a weeks' vacation.

Beautiful Place

The place is gorgeous, we really enjoyed the stay. We are early 70's , there is a lot of stairs that would not have bothered us 10 years ago. The bed although very comfortable sits fairly low to the ground. If your looking for a unique, out of the ordinary place I would highly recommend it.

Tower with a view

Fun, funky place to stay with a bit of history attached. The 360 views of Door County from the top of tower are great. Very clean and well maintained property. Would book again, especially in the fall.

Unique property in a great location.

We loved the uniqueness of the tower. It’s semi rural setting with land around it made it private and relaxing. The location to other towns along the peninsula made it a quick and beautiful drive to enjoy restaurants, shops, parks and hikes. Would recommend this property to adult couples who don’t mind stairs. We would definitely rent it again.

Wonderful Place

Interesting and unique architecture with beautiful views in a quiet location characterizes our stay at the Tower. We can't wait to go back. The only negative we experienced was that as a listed pet friendly property there was a lot of dog hair in the unit and what appeared to be possibly dog urine stains (?) on the pull-out couch cushions located on the ground floor. I mention this because those with allergies may want to stay elsewhere.

Unique and intimate

The description was accurate to the space that we stayed in. Everything was very clean and organized. Definitely a place for a couple only, or with 1 child but not more. We look forward to staying there again.

Brenner tower

Took house for location. Wanting to be able to sit outside to watch the meteor showers. That worked very well. House was unique but since we are seniors the steps at time were a bit much. Kitchen was always way too hot which I believe had to do with all the windows. They should put a dorm refrigerator tucked away on the first floor for beverages. Garbage can on first floor also would be helpful. Had issue with the 1/2 bath so Plummer was called by manager and was promptly taken care of within 24 hrs. Overall very nice and had a good experience. Claudia

Wonderful overall

Such a neat place to stay. However, the only thing that needs improvement is the cleanliness. I was having allergic reactions the whole weekend stay to what I assumed was cat hair since I’m allergic to that. It was all over the couch, the bed and blankets, and the pillows. I could not wear my contacts the whole time because of this. Not sure that any of that was washed before our stay. Besides that, everything was great and had a pretty good experience.

Unique and wonderful place!

Admittedly, we love architecturally interesting places. The Brenner tower was just that! How often do you get to stay in a three-story round tower? The setting was beautiful sitting high above the door county countryside with views of the bay and Washington Island. We especially loved spending time on the third floor cooking, playing games, reading and enjoying the fireplace. Even though the wind was howling outside, we were snug and warm inside. It was cloudy the whole time we were there, but I imagine sunrises and sunsets would be beautiful. The kitchen worked well for us, using the stove and oven throughout our visit. Our two kids slept on the sofa sleeper on the first floor and they would report it was not the most comfortable but what sofa sleeper is? The shower is small, but functional. It is a small space with simple accommodations and a nice updated kitchen - a unique and very cool building. We would definitely love to stay at the Brenner Tower again.

Beautiful property/Great getaway

Our son received his stay as a "gift". He spent three nights at The Tower. He was impressed by the architecture, especially the 360 degree views from the kitchen. He found travel around Door County to be easy from the location, especially enjoying the easy drive to the Washington Island ferry.

Such a neat place to stay in Door County!

Spent a week with my husband and two boys, ages 9 and 11, at the Brenner Tower in mid July. The boys were in love with the tower the second they saw it. It is a very unique place to stay. Although it is located higher up in Door County, we still found it very easy to make our way around. The area surrounding the house is very peaceful and quiet. The views from the third floor kitchen were great. The company was good to deal with. There is very little privacy in the house so I would only recommend it for a family of no more than four or REALLY close friends. The fire pit is cute, but the grass is cut so close to it that no more than the two chairs provided can fit around it. The satellite dish wasn't working when we arrived and broke down again during a rain storm. The company was quick to address, but would make sure to bring some DVDs if you plan to watch anything on television. Like some have mentioned we struggled with the locks even up to our last day in the tower. Other than a roll of paper towels, one garbage bag, and some toilet paper nothing disposable is stocked so be sure to bring with you what you would need. Was a little disappointed that not a single cleaning supply was provided. The shower pressure is really hard and as the shower itself it really small expect to need to turn the water on and off during the shower for soaping up and shaving. The toilet seats kept coming off the hinges which was very annoying. The kitchen chairs were pretty uncomfortable and the table is too big for the space which made hanging out around the table playing games hard, which is a huge shame because it is the loveliest of kitchens. The house is a good bargain and would recommend staying there.

Brenner Tower is perfect for a couple on a long weekend. Location is nice not to far, yet not to close to busy areas. Nice views.

Beautiful views and convenient, quiet location

PRO'S - Secluded and private yet so convenient and close to town. Views were amazing - have never experienced a lightning -thunderstorm with a 360 degree view before Comfortable bed Quiet Dog Friendly and great road to take our fur baby on walks CONS- Enjoying spending relaxing time on top floor for the views. Kitchen Chairs were not very comfortable for that. Kitchen table and chairs take up to much room- believe seating for 6 is is not needed. Basic cleaning supplies would have been nice to have available. Ex- bath- room cleaner. Small wastebasket in main floor bathroom would have been nice. Need towel hooks by shower Bed is very low to floor- this is personal preference though Both toilet seats consientalty came off hinges SUMMARY- We really enjoyed our stay- would think about renting again for our next trip to Door County.

Great building and location but other issues cause poor rating.

Ants and huge black flies everywhere inside. I'm not joking when I say we killed at least 35 black flies and so many ants we lost track... even brought back ants in our luggage. The worst was on the 2nd day the property owner called to warn us that the well didn't past its test. I had been drinking the water up till this point. Had to make a trip to the nearest town to buy a couple gallons of water. They did provide a partial refund for the well issue.... I didn't get sick.... but still a bit uneasy about the whole thing.
