Nice house + garden - Circuit of Remembrance, Picardy Somme Battlefields

House for 4 to 8 people, pleasantly furnished, with all the necessary equipment and comfort. Very calm, bright, breathtaking view of the front lake, the trees and the birds (Natura 2000 protected area.

5 rooms: 3 bedrooms, 2 large living areas with beds. American kitchen equipped with every comfort, TV / Hi-Fi lounge. High speed Wi-Fi included (LiveBox). Renovated bathroom with WC on the ground floor.
Upstairs terrace, another garden level terrace facing the lake.
Land of 500 m2 facing the lake (not fenced). Court.
Free parking in front of the house or in the courtyard.

We can comfortably accommodate 8 people: 2 bedrooms with double beds (160 and 140 cm), one bedroom with bunk bed (90 cm) and a drawer bed. 2 sofa beds (160 and 140 cm) in the two living areas (Ground floor and upper floor).

Fishing option with friends who own ponds 2 minutes by car in Fargny (contact us for prices) and possible water sports in Cappy (7 km).
Fishing and swimming prohibited in front of the house.

Enjoy nature at the Somme

We had a very good time. It's a beautiful environment. The house has a spacious balcony with a view of a lake. The houce is also spacious and well stocked.

Good base for exploring WW1 Somme Battlefields

We used this property as a base for exploring some of the WW1 Somme battlefields which worked very well. The property is on the bank of the Somme itself and was on the frontline in 1916. Francois, the property owner, was very responsive and helpful with queries. Note that the property is in a small village and a short drive from the nearest restaurants and shops.

Great location, great owners, great property

We endorse every positive comment which have already been made. The owners, Francois and Aurelie, are really helpful before during and after our stay. Communication was easy as they both are fluent in English. The house is really comfortable and good to come back to after a day sightseeing battlefields and towns nearby. It is well equipped with everything one needs for a good stress free holiday. The location is very quiet and scenic. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property and would stay here again.

"My friends and I were ve...

"My friends and I were very happy with the property. It is situated in an idyllic setting right on the bank of the River Somme and is very private - the view is fantastic. East access by car (it would be difficult to get to the house without one)and plenty of parking space. Everything had been arranged, in a friendly and helpful manner before our departure (via email). Although the owner does not live locally, everything was in order when we arrived - the house was clean and tidy, the grass freshly mown. I contacted the owners on return to thank them and to suggest one or two minor things for improvement. We really enjoyed our stay and I would love to go again."

Highlight ist die Aussicht von Terrasse aus

Der erste Blick hinterlässt in der Regel den Eindruck !!! Wenn man kein Problem hat mit viel Staub,weil runde Ecken geputzt werden, mit Spinnen gut klar kommt und die Einstellung hat wie wir,haben erstmal die Toilette geputzt,in der Küche Geräte gesäubert und entkalkt,dann ist dieses Haus okay.Man wird mit der Aussicht auf den See sehr belohnt, am Abend kann man der Eule zuhören, das hat einiges wieder gut gemacht. Ich möchte erwähnen das die Terrassentüre nicht zu verriegeln ist,wenn man weggeht muss mann das Rollo per Stange runter drehen und mühselig wieder rauf drehen.Der Zugang zur Haustüre und zum Garten ist sehr steil,das hat noch keiner erwähnt,durch leichten Mooswuchs kann es rutschig sein,bitte aufpassen.Ich könnte hier noch mehr schreiben, aber jeder sollte sich seine eigene Meinung bilden, die muss ja nicht gleich mit meiner sein!!! Wir haben uns trotzdem eine schöne Zeit gemacht, wenn es auch geregnet hat.Die Umgebung ist sehr schön, Fahrradfahren und wandern sehr gut.Wir waren mit unseren Hunden da und konnten schöne Spaziergänge machen. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter einwandfrei und sehr freundlich.

Erholsamer Urlaub in traumhafter Umgebung

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten uns sehr gut erholen. Der Balkon mit Blick auf den Weiher ist wundervoll. Wer die Natur liebt, erholt sich schnell und kann eine Vielzahl verschiedener Vogelarten erleben. WC im EG, Schlafräume im OG, das bedeutet Treppensteigen. Wer nachts öfter los muss, hat es nicht so leicht.

Week end en famille

Nous avons séjourné à 7 (adultes) avec notre chien. Logement au calme au bord de l'eau. Bon équipement de la cuisine (four, frigo, machine café, bouilloire,...), vaisselle en quantité suffisante. Chauffage efficace avec le poêle à bois. L'espace au rez de chaussée est un plus. Notre séjour était très agréable et les propriétaires réactifs à nos questions

Très bel endroit tranquille, charmante maison

Notre weekend prolongé s'est très bien passé. Il faut aimer la campagne et la tranquillité. La maison est charmante et les propriétaires sont très gentils. L'internet ne fonctionne pas toujours, ce que nous n'avons pas trouvé très grave. Les villes et villages autour sont charmants.

Une maison tout confort avec un cadre idyllique

J'y suis allé en septembre de l'an d'écriture de ce message. Un temps parfait pour l'observation animalier et plus particulièrement ornithologique. Je remercie les propriétaires et autre intervenant pour leur sérieux. La maison était confortable, l'extérieur avec jardin face à l'étang, l'était également (pelouse tondue). Facile pour garer la voiture et sortir les affaires après l'arrivée. L'espace environnemental est de toute beauté. J'ai l'habitude de choisir mes vacances en fonction de la présence de rivière ou fleuve. Et là, c'est complétement conquis que je repart. Un cadre magnifique, charmant et reposant, idyllique en somme, c'est époustouflant. Je partage à nouveau mes remerciements envers les propriétaires.

Relaxing

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the end of May 2022. A great spot to recharge and as a base to tour the Somme area. The view from the terrace is fantastic and one we didn’t want to leave.

nice and quiet place in the middle of nowhere

We had an amazing week in this wonderful house. The kitchen and the gear were good, the beds were fine (not superb), but the place and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful! A really wonderful place to walk, swim, take a day trip to a nice city, or just chil out in the garden. As said, we've had a wonderful week!

La maison est totalement conforme à l'annonce !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans la maison du lac. La région est magnifique et lorsqu'on rentre à la maison, le calme et la vue sont parfaits. La maison bénéficie de toutes les commodités nécessaires. Nous étions 2 adultes et c'était pour nous très spacieux. Normalement, elle peut accueillir jusqu'à 6 personnes mais ce n'est pas le cas du fauteuil 😉 Au rez-de-chaussée, une table de ping pong et une belle bibliothèque ! Le jardin est magique avec la vue sur le lac. Il manque uniquement une petite table pour manger les bonnes viandes cuites au barbecue 😇 François a communiqué avec nous avant et pendant le séjour, il est serviable et disponible 👍Nous nous sommes rendus à Bray-sur-Somme pour nos différents achats (boulangerie, pharmacie, petit supermarché) et c'est vraiment suffisant ! Nous recommandons vivement cette location 👌

Hameaux de paix

Adorable maison familiale bord de la Somme , un hameau de paix avec un grand jardin et une magnifique vue sur un lac paisible. Tout y est pour se ressourcer en plein nature et passer une belle vacance. On se sent chez sois,grace a l'accueil chaleureuse et irréprochable des propriétaires que même si ne sont pas physiquement sur place, sont à l'écoute, et à disposition pour toute nécessités et conseils. Dizaines d'espèce d'oiseaux, cygnes, et bâtiments d'ailes désignent l' horizon! Promenades dans les bois, une région riche en histoire et des belvédère à couper le souffle ! seul bruit de l'eau, sentiment de bien-être et plénitude, bulle d'oxygène entre Paris et la mer. Un tableau d'autres temps.... Merci pour tout ! Grazie mille cari Aurelie e François ! Une famille heureuse

Merveilleux séjour

La maison est très confortable, très bien située. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en profitant des nombreuses promenades alentours des sites historiques et de la table de ping-pong. La maison est conforme à la description et le propriétaire aux petits soins. Nous conseillons vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

Séjour au calme et très reposant

Jolie maison avec vue directe sur un lac. Très calme. Petite route derrière la maison très peu passante. Nombreux chemins de randonnées à pied ou à vélo qui partent de la maison. Maison très bien équipée... merci aussi pour les livres et BD mis à disposition Région alentour très riche historiquement. A 1h30 de la mer. Encore merci à ses charmants propriétaires...

Urlaub an der Somme mit kleinen Überraschungen

Wir verbrachten als Familie (2 Eltern, 4 Kindern) eine schöne Woche an der Somme. Auch das Quartier war in Ordnung und die Gasteltern sehr hilfsbereit und schnell kontaktierbar bei allen Fragen. Die Umgebung war sehr schön. DAs Grundstück ist direkt an einem Nebensee der Somme gelegen in einem kleinen sehr ruhigen Dörfchen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten per Auto in 15min erreichbar. Allerdings gibt das Inserat das Quartier nicht realitätsnah wieder. Der Außenbreich war nur halb so groß wie auf dem Foto da 50% der Fläche von Gestrüpp überwuchert waren. Der angebene Grill war durchgerostet und das Boot auch nicht vorhanden. Internet gab es, allerdings kostenpflichtig über eine nicht sehr schnelle Verbindung (kein Streaming möglich, wenn es erschwinglich gewesen wäre). Der Raum mit dem roten Sofa befindet sich im Erdgeschoss neben einem als SChuppen/Keller genutzten Raum. Das Bad und die Toilette sind ebenfalls im Untergeschoss. Das Obergeschoss hatte eine schöne Terasse und 3 Schlafzimmer die von einem großen Wohnraum abgingen. Die offene Küche hätte etwas sauberer sein können war aber für unsere Ansprüche okay. Diese teils relevanten Details hätten wir gerne vorher gewusst und in das Preis/leistungsverhältniss einbezogen.

Beautiful location

We spent 3 most enjoyable days at Vaux, thoroughly enjoying our evenings watching the lake and it’s visitors. How lovely to hear a cuckoo and watch a red squirrel in the garden. The property was easy to find and our purpose for staying was to visit the Somme and we travelled easily to all the key sites. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely views and spacious house

Good size 3 bedroom house with great views of the lake. Wood burner in lounge/kitchen area. Off the beaten track, very peaceful. Within driving distance of Somme museums (15 minutes).

Located in a Natura 2000 site, the house is located in front of the beautiful marshes of the Somme, just next to the Belvédère de Vaux, its superb panorama, and one of the last eelguilleres of France. The landscape is dotted with a magnificent view of the water and the many birds (coots, kingfishers, reed harriers, hens, crested grebes, herons, ...), which is also seen from home and its breathtaking view. Very quiet, bright, large windows, everything is done to relax.
Access fishing 2 minutes by car on package and without fishing card (contact us) and other water activities nearby.
