Connemara is one of Ireland's most iconic destinations, an area of unmatched natural beauty. Glenbrickeen Lodge is situated between the 12 Bens mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. The possibilities are endless in this wonderful area. A drive along the Sky Road or a visit to Kylemore Abbey. This captivating region offers many beautiful walks in the Connemara National Park or cycling along the scenic Atlantic coast roads. Rest a while listening to Irish Music in Clifden. Take your time playing a game of golf on the world famous Ballyconneely Golf Course.

Charming, quite location with access and view of lake. A cottage on 16 acre of ground. There are 5 rooms including two ensuite bedrooms. The kitchen is fully furnished. After a long day relax in the sitting room, over looking the lake, and surrounding Connemara country side. Free wifi in the cottage.

10 days in Connemara

Absolutely lovely house, spotlessly clean, and with fabulous views. The location was perfect, very peaceful, but also close to Cliften, within easy access to stunning beaches, walks and restaurants. Mary was great - very quick to respond to messages and keen to make sure we had everything we needed. Hope to be back again soon.

What the doctor ordered

Stay was what the doctor ordered. House set in hills about a mile up a side road from the main road. Peace and quiet in abundance with hares in garden in morning and deer in fields around house on a couple of evenings. House was spotless and cosy with comfy bed and great shower. Everything was as listed on website with good Wi-Fi.

We loved it the views from the house were wonderful. The house so roomy and everything seemed new.

Peaceful setting close to town

My husband and I spent a lovely week in Marys house it is very clean and comfortable the surrounding area is beautiful and Clifden is a very pretty town with a good choice of restaurants and bars. Its about a 10 minute drive but could not walk to it as road is busy and windy. The weather was not great for us but the house was warm and cosy when we came back from our days out. Mary was very helpful and responded very quickly to any questions. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

Beautiful location by a lake with very few other houses around but easy to reach from the main road. A short drive from Clifden which has several supermarkets. Property is modern and well equipped. It felt very spacious for four adults and a baby. Mary the host was very responsive and helpful regarding a few items we needed for the baby.

Great stay, house was just perfect ! The only letdown is Vrbo handling of payments which was very poor. So if you can, book this place from another platform.

Stunning location for a great house.

The house was in a glorious setting -views from every window. There was so much to do near bye-walking,boat trips, sight seeing and eating out. The house was roomy and comfortable.

Cosy cottage in beautiful location

We were so happy with this rental property. We were there for Storm Franklin. The weather was terrible but we were so snug in the cottage in front of the fire! The cottage is really spacious. The location is great both out in the middle of nowhere and really close to Clifden. We saw an Irish hare in the garden a few times too. Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to go back (but in the summer next time 🤣)

Perfect stay

We had a wonderful time, weather was beautiful, House just great. It was clean and bright with lovely view over the lough. Daily visit from hare and her leveret. Regular sighting of deer. House has 2 really lovely bright spacious bedrooms both en-suite. Well equipped kitchen and pleasant living room. We spent most of our time outdoors on the lawn. Could not fault the house, would definitely return. We are keen cyclists so the long hilly lane in was a wee bit of a challenge but we soon got used to it. Area is wonderful, about 4 km from clifden. Overall we had a fantastic stay. Sad to leave.

Brilliant stay

Mary was a fantastic host. House was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and clean. 10 min drive into Clifden. Some brilliant beaches nearby. We saw rabbits, hares, ponies, deer and a pinemartin came right up to the patio doors. The lake seems to be teaming with fish , couldn't get to the shore though with young kids and not wanting to damage fences. All in all we had a great time. Thanks Hugh and Mary.

Beautiful location ,peace & quite

It’s all we had hoped for and more , stunning views . If you are looking for a quite break and beautiful location this is the place . House was spotless inside and out and had everything we needed for the 5 days . 5km from Clifton where we had some excellent meals ( guys bar , darcy twelve , and Walsh coffee shop for cakes . Covid 19 rules means we didn’t meet the owner . The only thing I would have liked would be an information pack about local shops and pubs and local attractions & walks , we don’t think you’ll find a better house for the money .

An amazing week in west Connemara

We had a fantastic time in the house. It was perfect for us, remote to feel like we were in the middle of nowhere and close enough to Clifden to enjoy restaurants and have access to shopping. The girls loved our new neighbours, two Connemara poneys! I would highly recommend the house.

Lovely spacious home

This house was perfectly located only 5 mins drive from all Clifden, very convenient for evenings out. Set in very peaceful location overlooking lake. Very comfortable and plenty room.

Smashing stay

This is a beautiful, peaceful property just 5 minutes away from Clifton with its numerous shops, bars and restaurants. The property was clean, tidy and had everything you needed to enjoy a stay. It is an excellent base from which to explore the Connemara National Park and beyond. Mary is a lovely host, and I wouldn't fail to recommend her and Glenbricken Lodge.

BEAUTIFUL HOUSE IN A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION.

First class property. House was spotless on our arrival, a real credit to Mary the owner. From the peat burning stoves to the views over the Lough and the varied wildlife we had a brilliant week. Property is ideal for getting away from it all but at the same time is close to Clifden for supermarkets,petrol,pubs etc etc. Well placed for touring the many back roads of Connemara. Galway is an hour away by car, well worth a visit. House has many little extras that you normally don't have when you rent a property. I rate this property 10/10. You will not be disappointed.

Traumhafte und ruhige Lage

Ein wunderschönes Haus, liebevoll eingerichtet in sehr ruhiger Lage. Nach einen langen Tag lädt die Terrasse mit Blick auf dem Teich zum Entspannen ein, am Abend kann man den Sternenhimmel beobachten sofern es das Wetter es zulässt. Die Stadt Clifden ist ca. 5 Km entfernt dort kann man sich mit allen notwendigen wie z.B. Lebensmitteln versorgen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Splendide maison bien située pour visiter la région des lacs

Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances dans cette superbe maison. Localisation (parfaite pour visister la région des lacs), propreté, équipements, contacts avec les prioritaires, informations données, etc. Tout était parfait ! My family very much enjoyed this rental. We searched all of Ireland and parts of England and looked at basically every rental that met our criteria. The house is off a main road that has neighbors, but it is very private and none of the neighbors are near by. The house is well designed for two couples or a family of 4-5, and without much clutter. The kitchen has all the gear you would want, including fry pans that are still non stick. The location of the house is not too far from Clifden and not too far from Connemara. The internet was extreme strong and had no issue with 4 devices running. The only potential negative is we thought we could walk to the lake, but the field is tiered and there is no lake access directly from the house. Overall, this is one of our top 4 vacation rentals, we had a very relaxing time, and we would definitely stay here again. 10/10.
