A delightful property with marvellous view

The property is well situated for visiting Avignon and exploring the surrounding area of Provence. Villeneuve-les-Avignon has its historical charm. The villa is spacious and comfortable both indoor and outdoor; the neighbourhood is pleasant and quiet; a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Impressively, it commands an unimpeded view over the town of Villeneuve, onto Avignon and the countryside beyond. The property owner is very helpful and friendly, and goes to great length to ensure that we have a wonderful experience while staying in the property. I will recommend this property without hesitation.

Perfect getaway!

We as a family of 4, together with my mother, my brother and sister-in-law, stayed here in August 2022 after having rearranged twice due to Covid. The owner, Greg, was extremely understanding and accommodating regarding this and let us roll over the booking twice to the following year. It was well worth the wait! Lovely air-conditioned rooms (which were definitely needed as is very hot in August) in a modern house, beautifully furnished. It has an amazing pool which is where we spent most of our time either in or around. They also have a swing ball set and basketball hoop which helped to keep our two boys entertained for hours on end! Also had plenty of garden furniture and a gas bbq. The view from the garden is breathtakingly! The house is set in a gated community and is very private/secure, and not overlooked in any way. It is close to large Carrefour supermarket and a couple of smaller shops, a friendly bar and a pizza takeaway. There is also a bus stop a 5-minute walk from the property where you can take the number 5 bus route into Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and further into Avignon. Both are also walkable (around 30 minutes/1 hour respectively) and are very beautiful. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Aubergine restaurant in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and saw lots of amazing sights. All in all, a fabulous family holiday in a beautiful villa, I’m sure we will be returning!

Wonderful villa for a relaxing family holiday in Provence

This is a lovely, spacious and well-equipped villa which comfortably accommodated three generations of our family. The panoramic views across to Avignon and the surrounding peaks are spectacular and we never tired of waking up, or returning home, to them. The swimming pool was very much appreciated by all of us for cooling off from the hot provencal sun and my sons (11 and 8) spent many happy hours swimming and playing in it. The villa is very well located in a quiet neighbourhood with an excellent supermarket and bakery just a five minute walk away. Villeneuve-les-Avignon is a beautiful small town, much quieter than Avignon, even during August, but with a fascinating history and many gems to visit and fanstastic places to eat. We enjoyed the walk to the town centre (which took about 25 minutes) and there was also a regular bus service (which continues into Avignon) if you don't want to drive. We definitely recommend this villa for both a relaxing family holiday and as an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful part of Provence.

Excellent Property, Great location.

The view and facilities at the villa are great. The shops in walking distance are ideal. For normal town and searching out history, Avignon is 10 minutes in the car from villa to car parking! Top location and a very enjoyable stay.

Great pool, great view, great location

We had a wonderful week in this property on the hills above Villeneuve-les-avignon. It was kept very clean for our arrival. The villa is very well equipped when it comes to cooking too. We had nice barbecues outside (you can see fort Saint-Jean and the palais des Papes from there. The location is great in a quiet neighbourhood, within walking distance of the bakery and supermarket. The location is central and it's a quick drive to the major attractions around Avignon, Chateauneuf-du-pape, les dentelles de Montmirail, etc. I would highly recommend this property.

Comfortable, modern, clean, tidy, perfect, a must stay

From the moment we stepped into the property we knew this was going to be a great place to stay. We were met by the house keeper who was very friendly and helpful. The house had plenty of space for 5 adults and three children. The bathrooms were modern and the kitchen as spacious with modern appliances. The view over Avignon from the lounge and outside area made staying here very special. We had a slight problem(our fault) with the tv which the owner was only too happy to help. The surrounding houses were lovely, a very quiet and clean gated neighbourhood. We all really enjoyed the pool. The supermarket was a short walk and an even shorter drive from the house, really convenient. We all really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we returned to Avignon.

Good location, great facilities and foodstores nearby

Avignon is an impressive town and the villa lies on its outskirts. Placed amidst private houses within a locked off street gives you a good feeling. There is a supermarket and a bakery within walking distance, yet far enough not to disturb. There is an open landscape with lavender on the poolside. Excellnet for families.

Well appointed villa

We have just enjoyed a 10 day sojourn in this lovely modern villa. We were met by Angelique whose English is limited but easily made herself understood and who showed us round. The rooms were well appointed and the villa itself was very well equipped and clean. The villa is ideal for two families or small group of friends. The open plan layout for the living areas made the villa feel very spacious. The view was magnificent from the living room windows and the garden full of lavender capturing the essence of Provence. It was unfortunately just a little too cold to use the pool due to the time of year but it was very pleasant sitting out beside it. Avignon and the surrounding area is a lovely part of France and we were easily able to get to places of interest from the villa. The only downside of our stay was the shortage of fuel as a strike began during our stay so we weren't able to travel too far afield. If you want to explore Provence then you won't go far wrong renting this villa.

Beautiful Villa

Greg and Laura's Avignon villa is a beautiful and relaxing vacation home. We were a group of 7 people and the villa provided us with a lot of space and privacy. The villa is convenient to amenities; a five minute walk to a large supermarket, (Carrefour), gas station, great bakery and Cafe. The town of Villeneuve les Avignon (at the bottom of the hill) has so many restaurants! We particularly enjoyed L'Aubergine for both lunch and afternoon drinks. The villas' view over the Rhone River towards Avignon is unsurpassed. Our poolside morning coffee and evening glass of wine, was so pleasurable because of this view, the scent of lavender and the peacefulness of the area. The villa itself has all the amenities that one would need, and were most appreciated. (Washer/dryer, reliable internet) My only minor suggestion would be that the "house supplies" (toilet paper, dish soap and laundry detergent) be scaled to length of visit and number of guests. I don't mind buying these items, but I'd much rather buy more red wine! I wholeheartedly recommend this villa to anyone who wants to explore this part of Provence. Our group had rented two cars, and over our two week visit, made many day trips to surrounding cities/villages/sites. All in all, we had a lovely visit and would not hesitate to return!

The perfect experience!

We had an excellent experience staying at Greg and Laura’s villa just outside Avignon. It is about 10 mins from Avignon center perched above a beautiful hilltop with incredible views. There are several vineyards within each of the bordering towns including the famous Chateauneaf-du-Pape. The property itself is well kept and cleaned after each renters stay. There are two parking spots (one in the garage and one behind it in the driveway). There is a convenient supermarket a 5 min walk down the road. Inside, the house is well appointed with everything you need! Greg (the owner) was very attentive and was always quick to answer emails and fulfil our requests. The housekeeper is very nice and welcoming, she will likely be the one to check you in and out of the property. Would definitely recommend this villa to our friends for a memorable holiday experience! Overall though this was a 5/5 experience. Thanks Greg and Laura!

Lovely location, very comfortable villa

We enjoyed our stay in this very nice house, the owners have equipped it well, the views + location are perfect. The only complaint we have is regarding the ridiculously high cost of the security deposit.

Lovely holiday

Easy to get to off the A9. The proximity to the very good Carrefour supermarket (which has petrol/diesel to fill up cheaply) and bakery meant that we could park up on arrival and spend a blissful week without using the car. Despite being so close to all facilities, including good take-away pizzas, the place is amazingly quiet and relaxing. The house is thoughtfully presented, with towels for the pool, tea-towels, washing up stuff, tabs for dish-washer and washing machine all provided, as well as nice fluffy bath towels. Big TV has English news channels and hundreds of other channels in various languages. It has spare HDMI sockets if you want to play other English TV via apps on your iPad or android device. The kids found one that plays sky sports! The fridge-freezer is of an excellent size for a family holiday. The views over the rooftops of Villeneuve to Avignon and the wave of the Alpilles is stunning. Then look over your left shoulder and the bulk of Mont Ventoux is clearly visible. The cityscape is great at night, too, with Saint Andre's fort and the Palais du Papes lit up. Greg, the owner, is brilliantly responsive and helpful, and everything, payment and return of deposit, went smoothly. We would recommend this place very highly. You could easily get there using public transport if you fly to Avignon/ montpellier/Marseille. No need to hire a car! Might just try that ourselves next year!

An outstanding holiday in this villa!

My family (including 3 children) spent a week last July at this beautiful villa, and we had an exceptional time there! To begin, the owners were very helpful and transparent about the rental process, and we had a warm welcome gift at arrival. The property matched everything we expected from the advertisement. It is ideally located, very close to the old town of Avignon and within close driving range of major Provence tourism spots. The villa's amenities were excellent, very modern, and the quietness and spectacular (unique really) views from the house are memorable. We enjoyed the pool, garden and eating outside on the terrasse everyday. Sleeping comfort was very good too - a great combination of rest and enjoying life in Provence! I would recommend this unique villa to anyone seeking a memorable holiday!

Family stay

The villa with swimming pool is pleasant type "modern minimalist house", but it cannot be called a prestigious villa, because this appointment assumes much more characteristics. We had a good stay with our family, despite a very hot weather. The house is comfortable, quietly located and without vis-a-vis, although the panoramic view must be searched thoroughly of the land, which is not very well maintained. ( Not enough vegetation and a lot of pebbles). The kitchen is well equipped, but in bathrooms there is a lack of accessories to put toothbrushes etc. The beds in the rooms are quite smalls … especially for "a prestigious villa". The garage is not usable, because the door opening does not work. On the other hand, it is necessary to overhaul the lock of the house door, because the door opens quite difficult. In addition, the sun loungers around the pool are old and uncomfortable, some are a little broken. On the other hand, the concierges are kind and respond to possible requests. We thank them.

Great views!

Family of 6 stayed here with two young children and we were very pleased (especially with the children's room which was stocked with many toys). The unit was well stocked, clean, secure, and the pool was fantastic during the warm summer days! We were able to explore much of the area from here easily (we had a rental car). Lovely Villa in Villeneuve-les-Avignon

We had a party of three stay in this spacious property. Plenty of private spaces within the villa. Beautiful views from the back yard of the property, fully furnished and within a gated community. The owners were responsive, attentive, gave detailed information regarding the property and area. The contact who met us at check-in gave us detailed information regarding the property and check-out procedures. The property had a parking space for our car rental. The location was near a grocery store and restaurants. The neighborhood was safe, quiet and lovely. We did not stay during pool season but enjoyed the stars at night. We will stay at this property again when visiting Avignon or a near by village. Many thanks to Greg and Laura.
