The Villa is located in the perfectly quiet and relaxing small village called Gornja Podgora, 5 minutes driving distance to the busy tourist center of seaside village of Podgora which offers pebbled beaches, a long promenade, restaurants and water activities. Nearest pebbled beach is in Podgora, 5 minutes driving distance from the property.

Villa was fully renovated inside in winter 2020/2021

Only 2 minutes drive to Biokovo National Park, the mountain that rises right out of the sea, with its peaks and lookout points that afford unforgettable panoramic views onto the Makarska Riviera and the area around Biokovo.

15 minutes drive to Makarska, a city of more than 15 thousand inhabitants that encompasses picturesque villages at the foot of the Biokovo Mountain. There is a ferry line which runs from Makarska to Sumartin on the island Brac.

There are plenty of activities within the region including white water rafting at the River Cetina near Omis and other water based activities.

The property is 2 and a half hour drive to Dubrovnik and 1 hour drive to Split.

Fantastic villa with amazing views

A well equipped and presented villa with amazing views and fabulous sunsets. Peaceful setting 5 minutes drive up the mountain from the seaside town of Podgora with its crystal clear waters. The owners couldn’t be more helpful and have invested and produced a great place to stay adding a ground floor and enlarging the villa to include a third bedroom, small gym and second bathroom since we last visited. Would highly recommend.

Sensational

We just spent a lovely and relaxing 2 weeks in Villa Vedran in Podgora. The villa is really well planned and is spotlessly clean. We have been going on Villa holidays for roughly 20 years and this is one of the best we’ve been to for several different reasons. Vlado and Danijela were both amazing hosts. Communication was very easy and always prompt. Their recommendations for food, places to go locally and in Split etc were always spot on. They even helped me sort out a parking ticket which was very kind of them. Also the little details have also been thought through like having enough toilet roll, soaps and shower gels, salt, oil, charcoal briquettes etc. which are small but inevitably need to be bought if they aren’t supplied and they rarely are. The welcome hamper was also very classy and was much appreciated. The gym is really well equipped and there is plenty of outdoor seating. We spent a lot of time by the pool which is as inviting as the photos suggest. A car is essential but we did in fact walk to Podgora down some paths a few times. Walking back is a bit more challenging but only took 15-20 mins so is definitely a possibility if you are fit enough. Equally you can take a slightly longer route which isn’t as steep which only takes 5-10 mins longer. Podgora and Tucepi have good restaurants and we didn’t have a bad meal anywhere. This part of Croatia is beautiful and Villa Vedran was the perfect base for us. We’d be happy to go back there anytime.

Excellent stay in Croatia!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in villa vedran in Podgora. The villa was beautiful and very peaceful. Our hosts were super and available when needed. We had hoped to walk to town in the evenings to try the local restaurants but this is not advisable but is only a 5 min car ride down to the car park and you’re on the promenade. We dined in some lovely restaurants on the sea front and the sea was the clearest I have ever swam in. Croatia is beautiful and we would love to return one day.

Terrific Villa

Villa Vedran is immaculate and well decorated throughout. The pool area is great and was even better than the photos. Lovely quiet location and breathtaking views of mountains and sea. A car is essential. Vlado and Danijela were amazing hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

What a sunset. Perfect place for peace and quiet but close to the coast and the national park.

Wonderful villa with great views

The villa is located on the mountainside above coastal Podgora, a car is essential. The villa was spotlessly clean, well equipped and had stunning views of the islands beyond. The Owner, Vladimir, couldn’t have been more helpful and was available during our stay to answer any questions. The pool was great for an early or late swim in a fabulous setting. We loved our time there and would recommend highly to anyone looking for a villa in this attractive area of Croatia.

Lovely villa, lovely view, great facilities and spotlessly clean.

Really lovely very well appointed villa - nicer than the photos suggest. Lots of really nice touches - e.g shampoo/conditioner, shower gel , beach towels and plenty of bath towels provided. The view is stunning and lots of seating areas outside to make most of sun/shade as required. Good communication with Vlado who provided prompt responses to questions and recommendations for good beaches and restaurants. Car essential and driving to villa does involve a very steep and windy climb up . No restaurants within easy walking distance unfortunately.

comfort and gorgeous sunsets

We are just back from Croatia, having spent a lovely week in the Vedran villa. The villa is extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean. Vladimir and his family welcomed us warmly, Vladimir took the trouble to come and fetch us from the main road! Every day, we could enjoy a superb sunset from the terrasse! It is a good base to visit the area. We visited the Biokovo mountains, a must for gorgeous views, Markaska is worth a visit. We found lovely beaches, in particular the Cuban back in the Brela direction. Quieter than most in the area!

Perfect Villa

This is a very modern, spotlessly clean and excellently equipped villa. Definitely exceeded our expectations. Owners are friendly and welcoming. Villa has everything you could need. Beautiful views of the sea and stunning sunsets. Quiet location. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool. I cannot fault this villa at all. Everything was perfect. Absolutely stunning location & perfectly equipped

We loved this Villa and haven't stopped recommending it to our friends since we've come back home. The Villa is perfectly maintained, very clean and very comfortable. It is very well equipped, with well more than needed of spare linen, sheets, towels etc. The only piece of equipment that I thought we could have done with was a toaster; but there is a grill in the stove where we made our toast. But this really was the only thing. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, great air conditioner, great equipment for the pool also and to do barbecues, etc etc. The pool is absolutely stunning; perfect size, not too large or deep, not small. We're a family of five, with two teenagers and a 12 year old. The pool was an absolute hit with everyone. It also has this amazing view of the sea. The sunsets and the view have to be among our main memories from the Villa. Every single day we were treated to absolutely stunning sunsets, which we could savour, with a glass of wine, from the Villa's balcony. Sunset over the islands in front, in bright reds, every single evening. The location is also great. The local village, Podgora, is just down the road (about 6/7mn by car). This is a picturesque little village, with great beaches and plenty of great restaurants, cafes, etc A few miles up there's Makarska, very similar, but bigger scale. We also did day trips to Split and Dubrovnik, as well as taking the ferry to Hvar, where we spent a lovely day (highly recommend Jelsa). Finally, but not least, the hosts were lovely and clearly have great pride in their beautiful Villa (we had a very good and helpful welcome, with local products as gifts for us; and Vlado was always available and happy to help with any questions). All in all, a great Villa to base your holiday in Croatia.

Amazing Villa with Stunning views

Recently returned from an amazing 2 weeks at Villa Vedran. The villa is beautifully furnished with everything that you'd need, pretty much a home from home. It overlooks the lovely seaside town of Podgora, 5 minutes drive up towards the Biokovo mountain range which gives you stunning views across to the islands of Hvar and Brac. The sunset from the terrace area is simply stunning, a perfect backdrop when sitting with a nice cold beer and a good book. Makarska is just a 10 minute drive away, a larger seaside town, where there's a large supermarket, with lots of restaurants and larger beach area. The Pool area, as previously mentioned, is bigger than appears on the photos, and is equipped with loungers, umbrellas and a poolside eating area, plus there's inflatables for messing around with in the pool. There is also a BBQ and seating area to the rear of the villa which we made use of on a number of occasions. What stands out from other villas that we've been to before is the genuine relationship you have with Vlado and Danijela. They are both very welcoming and lovely hosts. Vlado waited for us to arrive even though our plane was delayed by 2 hours and it was 1am, and came to meet us in Podgora to escort us to the villa so we didn't have to find it in the dark. He also made sure he showed us where everything was before he left to go home (over an hours drive away). They also had a welcome hamper for us due to the late time of our arrival, so we didn't have to rush out first thing the next day. Another thing was the little things like, shampoo, shower wash, toilet rolls, wash powder etc, along with food items like olive oil, and condiments that are left for you so you don't have to fork out on them, just replenish when empty. The villa itself was also spotlessly clean, as was the towels and linen provided. I can't recommend this villa highly enough, we had a fabulous holiday and would love to return someday.

We have recently had a fantastic week at Villa Vedran with our two children. If you are seeking accommodation for a sun filled , relaxing and away from the crowds holiday then you will not be disappointed. The villa is extremely well maintained. Accommodation fabulous and well equipped. Daniela and Vlado are both welcoming and charming and successfully provide an excellent place for a weeks pool , sunshine and chilling out. Lovely villa and stunning setting

We had a fantastic holiday at Villa Vedran and would thoroughly recommend it. The villa is very well equipped and very comfortable with all mod cons - we really appreciated the air conditioning! The location is just superb - gorgeous views over Podgora and across to the islands. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing holiday - a beautiful, tranquil location, but with easy access to Podgora. The pool was lovely and a big hit with our children. We were actually a bit surprised at the size of the pool as it felt bigger than it appears in the photos. Vlado and Danijela were very friendly and welcoming. We arrived late so they provided lots of food so that we wouldn't have to rush to the shops the next day, which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. We enjoyed trips to Makarska and Split, and would also recommend the Veza restaurant. We didn't eat out a lot as it was hard to beat the views from the villa's balcony. Just lovely!

Fabulous villa with stunning views!

We had a wonderful holiday in Villa Vedran! Vladimir and Danjiela were wonderful hosts; meeting us on our arrival, showing us around and making us feel very welcome. The villa, both inside and out, is modern, clean and very well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday. Situated upon the hill above the seaside town of Podgora, Villa Vedran has the most stunning views over the mountains and the sea. Sitting on the balcony at the end of the day watching the sunset over the islands is not to be missed. I would certainly recommend a holiday here.

A wonderful stay at Villa Vedran

Villa Vedran is an awesome villa that is totally renovated and very clean. The villa is well equipped, it has everything you need. The surroundings are quiet with sun all day long, so it is easy to relax and enjoy the lovely pool and terrace - and the fantastic sea view! The villa is located in the hills just above Podgora, so it is a short drive both to Podgora and Makarska (where the big supermarket is). Vladimir and Danijela were very friendly and helpful, and they gave us a nice welcome gift with coffee, chocolate and wine when we arrived. We (2 adults + 2 children) had a wonderful week staying in the villa, and we would highly recommend this property to others. It's perfect!

Modern, Comfortable Villa with Breathtaking Views

Vladimir and Danjiela could not have been more friendly or more welcoming - from the introduction to the villa to recommendations for places to visit and eat they were the absolute perfect hosts in every way and very good company. The villa is modern, spotless and very well located, especially for those beautiful Adriatic sunsets. We especially liked sitting on the balcony at lunchtime or snoozing by the pool in the afternoon. The open BBQ was well used and there is plenty of beach & pool equipment in the garage/store. The mosquitoes can be a problem however so take plenty of repellent and invest in some citronella candles. The villa is in a fairly quiet spot yet quite easy to drive into Podgora (5 mins) or Makarska (10 mins) for local beaches, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. There is also a 15 minute walk down to Podgora but it's not for the fainthearted! The Veza restaurant on the road to Makarska is around five minutes away and was really superb with excellent food very friendly staff and a great location. The Konsum supermarket has everything you could need including great value meat and a wide choice of local beers. The nearby Lidl is also good. We would recommend that you buy produce from the roadside stalls however as it is much better quality. Fresh figs growing all around the villa too. We would definitely recommend a trip to Bol on Brac Island either via the car ferry from Makarska or on a day trip boat from Podgora. Split is definitely worth a visit especially the old city palace behind the Riva promenade. Dubrovnik is a gem and well worth a day to explore. Not sure that we would recommend the drive up to the top of Mount Biokovo; it may be a breathtaking view but a 26 km drive along a singletrack mountain road with a precipitous drop is not exactly my idea of holiday relaxation!

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Vedran!

The villa was just as it appears on the website - beautifully presented and clean. We were met by Vlado & Danijela who have done an excellent job refurbishing this lovely house and they ensured we had everything we needed. The views from the villa are spectacular and there was plenty to keep us occupied in the surrounding area. The fig trees that surround the villa kept us supplied with fresh figs for breakfast! We had day trips to Makarska and Split (not to be missed). The only slight downside was the mixed weather we had which seemed to bring out the mosquitos in their droves! - we had the bites to prove it! However this did not detract from a lovely holiday on the Dalmation coast.

It exceeded our expectations!

The house had everything we needed and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The pool was warm and the views sensational.The house was very well equipped and all the little extras like washing powder and tea were provided. The drive to Podgora was short enough not to cause any problem and we ate in the town most evenings. The town itself had lots of entertainment and we enjoyed every aspect of our holiday! What a great place to stay!

This holiday rental was perfect. It's on the hillside overlooking Podgora and is quiet and well positioned. The owners were lovely, very friendly, helpful and professional. Wonderful villa in stunning location

Can't speak too highly of this wonderful villa perched on a hill between the mountains of the Biokovo National Park and the clear blue waters of the Adriatic: nor of the owners Vladimir and Danijela whose genuine desire for us to have a great holiday couldn't have been more evident. The country and the area are beautiful: we particularly enjoyed the beaches, Podgora itself, Trogir, the river at Omis, the nearby islands of Hvar and Brac and our 2 visits to the National Park where we managed to spot an Alpine Chamois, amongst the other wildlife: and get a nice goulash for lunch at the cafe for 50 HRK! Our top tips: get up early to watch the sun come up over the mountains, watch the boats heading for the nearby islands, look for the Blue Rock Thrushes singing from the neighbouring rooftops, listen for the Scops Owl calling at dusk and see how many species of butterfly you can identify down the adjoining track. Most of all, enjoy the villa, the pool, the barbecue and all the area has to offer. I'm sure we will return some day!

Wow what a relaxing place

The owners are so helpful answering our questions, and of course recommending the local wine. The villa was just what we wanted, perfect location and so clean and modern. You were both so welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble.The local tourist town Podgora is very pretty and it's great to be able to come back to a relaxing place especially with a fantastic private pool.The 5/6 minute drive up the hillside is worth it when you see the views.The only surprise was how close the next Villa was but it wasn't really an issue and didn't intrude on our privacy.j Very enjoyable and a holiday we will remember.We would definitely recommend this property if you want to be away from it all.

Holiday 2012

The description and photos for the property are very accurate and Danijela and Vladamir were excellent hosts - very welcoming and helpful with a genuine desire for us to enjoy our holiday. The property was perfect for our family holiday and our boys had a great time and especially enjoyed the view. The property is set within a very quiet environment with superb views over Podgora and the sea owing to its hillside location yet is within easy reach of numerous beaches and towns. We would definately recommend this property and will probably look to rebook for next year

Kroatien ist mehr als eine Reise wert

Überaus freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastger; auch andere Kroaten begegneten uns stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Ferienhaus ist super 👍 einziger kleiner Nachteil ist die Erreichbarkeit. Die Gegend um Podgora bietet viele Möglichkeiten für Wanderungen und Besichtigungen. Strände sind auch sehr schön.
