Set in beautiful countryside

Great accommodation with all you need for a relaxing break away from home. Has the added bonus of lovely countryside on the doorstep. Enjoyed watching sunset over the hill which can be viewed from the patio or the living room or kitchen!

A Stormy Welsh Adventure

The house is gorgeous and though we were battered by one of the worst storms of the last 100 years, we still managed to have a lot of fun! Fantastically clean, comfortable and spacious, this location is perfect for getting away from the world. It would be an ideal base for summer exploration in the surrounding hills (which we plan to do)! The hosts were very friendly and even made a perilous trip out to us to bring us a gas stove during a storm-induced power cut! We couldn't have asked for any more! Thanks again. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Tranquil stay

Stayed here with a few friends for a birthday and it was just what we were after! Beautiful house, and the location was amazing. You can see so many stars, and the sunset over the hill lighting up the sky was stunning. All rooms were a decent size, and the kitchen and lounge were great for cooking and entertaining. Would definitely stay here again. I would advise people download anything they might need for their stay before getting into the village/hamlet. There is no signal AND the wifi at the property was not great for four people. We were all after digital detoxes so was ideal, but might not work for others.

Gorgeous

I went away as a group of 6! The place is a little hard to find as the postcode doesn’t take you to the property you have to drive for another 5 minutes to find it. However Sharon was very accommodating and friendly. She made us all feel very welcome and was very quick to help with any issues we had. Overall a lovely quiet area just a little difficult to locate! I would definitely return!

NANT-Y-GLYN - comfortable and clean

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Nant-Y-Glyn in beautiful surroundings. Spacious cottage with all needs supplied for a holiday. One can always find something to improve in most holiday accommodation, according to one's personal tastes, but overall as far as a holiday was concerned, this was a lovely place to stay. It is central for walks and it was nice to be away from interfering telephones! A good thing was the payphone, as, having a daughter in respite while we took a break, meant that I could be reached in any emergency, which thankfully did not happen. The owner, Sharon, was very helpful and obliging, as were her children, Jack and Natalie, which greatly added to the enjoyment of the holiday.

Last minute arrangement was fantastic as Sharon was so quick to respond

We literally booked this at 10pm on a Thursday night as a replacement weekend break after a last minute cancellation of our original plans. Sharon was fantastic in communicating with us and made us so welcome. 14 hours after first contacting Sharon we arrived at the house to be greeted by a delightful cake, and a card with a bottle of wine as it was our Silver Wedding Anniversary weekend plan that had gone awry. So very thoughtful, well organised and well received. The house was lovely, clean and quiet, and we had a wonderful weekend. Thank you Sharon for the last minute help to let us have a weekend away that we thought we had lost. Ian & Sheila, Jackie and Andy.

Lovely cottage

Our second stay at a very comfortable well equipped property. In a very picturesque setting. Ideal for walking holidays, cycling too although hilly surroundings. Ideal type of holiday if you need to get away for peace and quiet, the birds and sheep are the sounds you will hear the most.

Lovely house, beautiful location

House was warm and well equipped, plenty of parking and comfortably room inside for 6 people. Felt like a 'real' house, not a holiday let! As with much of rural Wales, there is no mobile reception but there is a payphone in the house and WiFi if you want to stay in touch. Beautiful views over the hills, and only 15 minutes from Builth. A lock on the downstairs bathroom would be nice, other than that everything was great! Top notch cake left for us by Sharon as well. Thanks Sharon! :)

Fantastic cottage in beautiful location!

We had a terrific long weekend at Nant-y-Glyn! The cottage has everything you could possibly need - well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, great bedrooms, main bath, master with en-suite, extra shower room downstairs, dining room and huge lounge with views of surrounding hills. Perfect for our family of four and my parents. Even DVDs, games for the kids, information about the local area, fresh eggs and welsh cakes on arrival! Sharon was so friendly and helpful despite being in the midst of lambing season! There are loads of walks starting at the cottage and OS maps provided to help you find your way. Hundred House pub in the next hamlet serves tasty proper pub food and there are options for take away deliveries if you don't want to cook every night. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back! Thank you :)

Perfect weekend!

The lovely owner Sharon met us upon arrival and showed us around this amazing house. The views are amazing and it's the perfect location if you want to get away. The house itself is rustic and cosy. A lovely home away from home. Would be gorgeous in the summer with a BBQ and will definitely be staying again! Hay-on-wye only a 30 drive away for some gift shopping :)
