Luxury 2 bedroom Villa on Quinta da Saudade, with 2 pools, tennis court, etc.

Rental Licence Number: 38693/AL - Casa Amizade (Villa 10A) is a beautiful, refurbished two bedroom air conditioned villa, nestling on the hillside of Quinta da Saudade, reputed to be the longest established private estate of its kind on the Algarve. The estate is truly unique, extending to some 24 acres and enjoying unspoiled, uninterrupted countryside views of the nearby wetlands nature reserve and across to the sea and nearby town of Armação de Pêra.

Built in the traditional Portuguese style and refurbished to an exceptionally high standard with a new kitchen installed in January 2024. The modern, yet homely villa comprises two good sized air conditioned bedrooms one with king size bed and one with two singles, a modern, well equipped and stylish bathroom and kitchen and a spacious, well appointed and air conditioned living room, complete with log burner*. The villa comes with maid service three times a week. A baby’s cot and high chair can be rented from the Quinta office.

Large patio doors open out onto a secure, private balcony with amazing views and equally amazing sunsets, equipped with stone BBQ , terracotta tiled canopy and enjoying stunning views across the surrounding countryside. The villa also has a large roof terrace with sun beds, table and chairs, and again, the roof terrace enjoys panoramic views to both sides. Beneath the balcony is a laundry room with washing machine, iron and ironing board for use by the maids and guests alike.

The villa also has free WiFi and a Smart, HD flat screen TV with Dolby sound and 4 x HDMI inputs should you wish to bring your own TV Fire stick. The TV is also pre-loaded with numerous apps including Netflix and Amazon Prime which may be accessed via your own account.

With 24 privately owned semi detached villas located across the hillside of the estate, the facilities enjoyed, include beautifully tended gardens with orange, lemon, almond, fig, carob and pomegranate trees, two swimming pools plus a paddling pool, child’s grassed play ground, tennis court, table tennis, boules, mini golf and horse riding stables. Also on the Quinta there is an excellent restaurant, which is rated number one on trip advisor for the area.

The estate lies a little over a kilometre or so from the beautiful beaches of Gale and Salgados, Salgados Golf course and numerous restaurants and local sight. It lies about 15 minutes west of Albufeira and around 40 minutes drive from Faro airport.

Peaceful setting

We stayed in 10A apartment, which was clean, bright & modern. The balcony area was spacious & a relaxing area with a bbq which we used several times. There are 2 pool areas which had plenty of sun beds & umbrellas. The pool was very clean. You do needs a car if you stay here, but the view across is peaceful & it is lovely at night watching the sun go down with a glass of Portuguese rose.

lovely place

The setting is beautiful, with views across a valley to woodland, the villas are clean and have everything you need, a spacious balcony with a barbecue. The estate gardens are well tended, the pools are good and the onsite restaurant is great, and the horse riding perfect for young children. These villas are extremely good value for money, so don't expect luxury or for everything to be brand new, and personally I would have been prepared to pay a bit more to fund the installation of some solar-powered swimming pool heaters, but overall I think this place is a gem.

10A is a wonderful home from home villa on the Quinta da Saudade. It has everything you could want and more for a brilliant holiday. The owners communication throughout has been exemplary and I don’t hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone who wants to holiday in this (our favourite!) part of the Algarve.

Our second time to the Quinta and it was just as special as the first. The property works so well for our family with everything you need and more within the villa plus the 2 pools on property are both excellent and clean. Quiet beaches even in high season are close by as are Zoo Marine and Slide and Splash for great family days out. The constant breeze make the weather ideal.

Beautiful villa in peaceful location

We stayed in Villa 10A for one week in July with our two children (aged 5 and 16). The villa itself is stunning and has clearly been renovated to a high standard. Everything you could possibly think of (and more) has been taken into consideration and all the little touches made it feel very special and luxurious. It felt like a ‘home from home’ as it was extremely well-equipped and comfortable. The first night we visited the restaurant on-site, which was excellent. Our favourite was Prima Pasta, about 20 mins walk away. The BBQ in the villa was great and easy to use, and you can buy good quality food from the local grocery store, so we ate at the villa a few nights enjoying the beautiful views of the country-side. The top pool is quiet and peaceful, and as we had a small child, we spent most of our time at the lower pool, which had a large swimming pool and sectioned off shallow area perfect for our 5-year-old. Right next to the lower pool is a small park with paddling pool and a pool bar that was great for drinks and lunches (salads, wraps, etc), as well as a table tennis table. There are stables on the site catering for all abilities and offering pony rides for the children, which many people highly recommended. We weren’t planning to hire a car, but we did find that everything was just a little too far for us to walk (I think the grocery store was about 25 mins walk). However, it worked out well as Julian recommended a great car hire firm that were reasonable and hassle-free, and it meant that we could explore the area more fully. There are many places in the area to visit, which are great for families. Julian and Ann-Brita were quick to respond to any queries and very helpful to provide us with any additional information and recommendations. This was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing holidays we have had and we are looking to return next year. It was such a beautiful, peaceful place and stunning villa to truly unwind. Thank you Julian and Ann-Brita!

beautifully refurbished accommodation

The accommodation was very spacious with an enormous balcony. Everything you needed plus much more (including electric juicer to squeeze the oranges we bought by the roadside). On-site restaurant was fabulous. Pools very well kept (but, be warned, don't allow inflatables in either pool - may be a problem for some and a blessing for others!) We have been self-catering for many years and this was one of the best we have stayed in.

Fantastic holiday in a super villa!

We absolutely loved our stay at Caza Amizade. Fantastic villa, well equipped, everything of very high standard. The Quinta is very quiet, overlooks beautiful countryside and is a great base to explore the central Algarve. All in all provided a great combination of a relaxing environment with enough activities for families on the Quinta and the surrounding area. luxury holiday accommodation!

We enjoyed a wonderful family holiday at Casa Amizade which was of a very high standard, comfortable and well equipped with everything necessary for a brilliant break in the Algarve. The villa has excellent air conditioning, modern furnishings, super comfortable beds and a lovely rain shower in the bathroom. The kitchen has all you need, and the laundry facilities downstairs appreciated for a mid stay freshen up of swimming gear etc. Indoor and outdoor dining great as breakfast and lunch lovely outdoors but dinner needed to be inside often due to the heat and sunshine on the terrace. BBQ appreciated also. Pools are lovely and always plenty of space and the grassed kids play area was also a bonus. Proximity of stables an added point of interest and we enjoyed watching the horses going out and in and our young son had a lovely pony ride as he was too young for us all to go on a trek. Unfortunately the small on site restaurant was stretched both times when we visited (perhaps at the beginning of the season?) the couple of staff struggling with only a few tables, making service very slow and the menu is limited. No kids menu as such when we were there - and on 2nd visit we were charged 14 Euro for half a sea bass fillet for our 4 year old (was the adult price which was a bit unreasonable) but the food itself was fine if old fashioned in style. There are several lovely beaches a short 5 minute drive from the villa and both Zoomarine and Splash and Slide excellent days out within easy reach. We would thoroughly recommend this holiday destination and love to come back - thanks Ann-Brita and Julian!

This stunning villa has been beautifully renovated

We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The furnishings and decor are all of a high standard and it was extremely clean throughout. The views from the balcony were stunning especially when the sun was setting. The location was perfect as it was not busy but was near enough to walk to one of the amazing beaches. The restaurant on site served fabulous food (especially the entrecôte steak) all well cooked and the staff always attentive. We definitely would recommend this property to both families or couples. Cant wait to go back!!

Klein huis maar terras maakt veel goed. Proper, behalve de bbq( verroest, is als eerste gebruik na de winter niet te gebruiken) Behulpzame eigenaars via chat en aan de telefoon. Veel te doen in de buurt. ( stadjes, zoomarine, zee, boottochten, kliffen…)Domein op zich vonden wij wat verwaarloosd. Missch wordt het wat geupdate en levendiger in het hoogseizoen. About the owners
Regular visitors with our two young sons to Quinta da Saudade, we fell in love with this unique place. Its genuine peace and tranquility, its closeness to nature and proximity to the wetlands nature reserve and beaches just a few 100 metres away were irresistible to us. So much so that when in late 2015 the opportunity came up to buy a villa here, much in need of love and attention, we jumped at it.

In May 2016 and after a lot of hard work, we were delighted to have completed the renovation, giving not only us the chance to enjoy this wonderful place, but also our rental guests, many of whom return year after year. We very much hope you enjoy staying here as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

When we bought the villa in autumn 2015, it was in desperate need of love and attention. We consciously decided to renovate every aspect of the house from the foundations up and make it light, spacious and airy with a contemporary, continental feel that complemented the villa’s traditional design. We also wanted to make the most of the stunning views, in our view, the best on the Quinta.

We gave it the name Casa Amizade* to reflect the friendly atmosphere here and the superb support offered by those who help in the smooth running of the Quinta, our conscientious maids and our hard working gardeners.

It’s always been our dream to find a place here in the sun, close to where we first met almost 40 years ago in Portimao.
