Wonderful stay in Palermo

Lovely haven of peace and quiet in the centre of Palermo. Carlo was very accommodating and helpful with local recommendations. Apartment was clean and comfortable with a small kitchen and a bathroom with shower. Apartment opens onto a lovely tranquil garden with lots of cats! After the buzz of Palermo it was lovely to come back to this little oasis of calm.

Garden retreat

Carlo was a great host, very informative and helpful. The apartment was perfect for us as it has a kitchenette which was sufficient for the odd meal as we mostly ate out anyway. Aircon was a godsend in the heat and humidity as was the charming garden complete with hammock, garden furniture and cats! A garden in central Palermo was a privilege to enjoy!

Palermo paradise

This is the most amazing hidden space in Palermo. A great compact accommodation that has everything you need & a garden to boot with a heady smell of orange blossom. Carlo, the owner was so helpful in suggestng places of interest to visit & to eat. We felt we were staying at a friends house & we will definitely be going back.

A peaceful haven in a busy city

Carlo is a very kind host. He welcomed us on arrival with food and wine. He provided some excellent olive oil for our stay and many other things. The flat is small but ideal for two people and the bed is very comfortable. The location is great - on the interior of an old Palermo apartment bloc, away from the noisy main streets, hence quiet at night. Also all the main sights of the historic town centre are within walking distance (or a short walk to the free bus that winds its way through the narrow streets), e.g. the Cathedral, the Palace, etc. There is a gluten-free bakery 2 mins walk round the corner, a small supermarket a few mins away and a major street market for fruit and veg. Next to the supermarket is a Russian grocery which sells food not available elsewhere, e.g. buckwheat, herrings, fresh sheep cheese...

Tranquil Hideaway

Carlo and Laura are lovely friendly hosts. Carlo greeted us and gave lots of local information about places to visit and restaurants. The apartment was fully equipped with everything that you needed, milk, water and orange juice was cooling in the fridge which we were very grateful for on arrival. They also supplied toilet roll, shower gel, shampoo and many other things which was very kind and thoughtful. The garden is very quiet and a great place to relax after the hustle and bustle of Palermo. Carlo very kindly told us about a collectable taxi from the airport which was 7 euros each compared to taxi prices. You can also get a coach from the prada shop for 6 euros each which run every 30 minutes back to the airport. The apartment is within easy walking distance of some fabulous restaurants which you will find situated up the side streets and very reasonable in prices. The locals were lovely friendly people, a visit to the local market is a must where you will find a bargain if you want to barter the price. Carlo is always available if you need any help and we would definately stay here again. Thank you Carlo and Laura it was a pleasure meeting you both.

Fabulous!

Lovely fully equipped modern property, with lovely garden to sit out in. Carlo is very approachable owner, and very helpful and kind, and answers any of your questions promptly. We would recommend this to anyone who would like to sample Palermo's delights!

Perfect apartment and wonderful owners

We stayed for 6 nights but with hindsight we wish we had booked 7 or even 8 nights! Carlo was a wonderful host. He gave us so much really interesting information about places to see ( not just the usual tourist places) and to eat. We had a mutual interest in architecture too. The apartment is of course small being a studio but perfectly designed and furnished so it didn't feel cramped. It was immaculate and Carlo had kindly provided so many basics eg milk, water, coffee etc and even shower gel and shampoo. The apartment and the garden were an oasis of peace and quiet to return to after the noise and bustle of Palermo. The location is perfect too. Not only central (eg. 5 minutes walk to Teatro Massimo) but also has a really good bakery 2 minutes walk away plus restaurants and little supermarket 3 minutes away. The famous street market is 4 minutes away. If you like shopping for clothes etc ( which we don't!) there are plenty of the usual international shops nearby. If we ever travel to Sicily again we shall be sure to book another stay here and go to see the historic sights, beautiful buildings and museums that we ran out of time to see Thank you so much Carlo Elizabeth and Philip

A fantastic place and great host.

The apartment is well equipped, clean and comfortable. The garden is fantastic - a lovely place to eat out or just sit and relax. The web site photos are accurate. Carlo is very friendly and helpful. It is in a nice neighborhood and only 20 mins walk to the very centre. Palermo is a very nice city. Great historical sites but interesting and safe to just walk about and enjoy the markets, piazzas and street life.

An Oasis of Peace

In a city as bustling as Palermo this studio apartment is a little gem. After a busy day of sightseeing, it was a pleasure to return to this haven of calm and sit in the garden under the shade of the orange trees. Apartment had a large comfy bed, small kitchen with all necessary items and a well equipped shower room. The friendly and helpful owners were on hand whenever you needed them. All in all a fabulous place, and we would certainly recommend this apartment to family and friends.

A beautiful base for enjoying Palermo, a secluded spot, close to the heart of the city

Arriving at the apartment was a great introduction to our short break in Palermo. A simple, beautifully furnished, comfortable, well-equipped and clean apartment, with own entrance from the garden. We didn't cook this time, but there were good facilities for making a meal, and a table on the patio to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun. We had a warm smiling welcome from Carlo, who was on hand with advice and information as soon as we arrived. He gave us a quick orientation to Palermo and some top tips for what to see and where to eat (we ate at the very popular Bisso’s on both our evenings). The apartment was a lovely peaceful place to come back to after a day's sightseeing and at the end of an evening out. Carlo and Laura were very hospitable and generous in spending time with us and sharing about life in Sicily. All in all a fantastic start to our first visit to Sicily.

Oasis of calm and cleanliness in a noisy city

Just as it was described. A real gem in the centre of a very noisy and quite dirty city. Carlo met us and escorted us to our apartment where all the essentials were waiting - toiletries, washing up liquid, olive oil, herbs, balsamic and crackers, biscuits, juice and milk to keep us going until we could get to the shops. Fabulous supermarket recommended by Carlo was very close. WiFi with no hitches. Although we never needed him we knew Carlo was available at any time if we did. Complete privacy, no noise and very clean. Pick your own mandarins! One of the most comfortable beds we have slept in!

Wowww an amazing place - a real treasure

We stayed with Carlo and Laura in Palermo for only a couple of days. It was our first time in the city and on Sicily. The apartment was a true paradise treasure in the city center. The location is only a couple of minutes walk from Piazza Politeama and the mercato del capo. The apartment has all you need, it is modern, brand new, fully equipped and on the ground floor with a private entrance. Yes, we loved the sliding windows (from floor to ceiling) which open to the beautiful green apartment garden with a hammock. The hammock is so welcome and comfy, especially after a long city walk. Though we arrived early we were warmly welcomed by Carlo and Laura with a good Italian espresso. Delizioso! Carlo answered all our questions and gave us some good tips. Thank you Carlo. He also gave us a portable wifi, so we could be online all day long even when being away from the apartment. That was spot on - an excellent surprise for us - as we both needed some work done during our getaway. Thumbs up Carlo and Laura. The perfect holiday location in Palermo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The flat was cosy, super clean and in walking distance of most of the sightseeing points. Yet because of the garden it also gave out a really calming atmosphere.

Perfect apartment

Quiet home away from home

This beautiful property is tucked in a neighborhood in the middle of everything. All sights are within walking distance. The room was clean and well stocked. Our host went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, from a vacuum clean to breakfast our first morning. He even had our laundry done. The backyard is adorable with the fruit trees and stray kittens running around. I would stay here again if I was back in town.

Nice appartment near the city center of Palermo

We really enjoyed our stay in Carlo's apparment. The appartment is really well located. You will arrive in the city center within a 20 minute walk. The appartment itself is spacious and has everything you need. In the garden there are a lot of cats, which is why (unfortunately) you cannot eat outside. Carlo is a really gracious host. He explained everything upon our arrival. He also helped us pointing out the highlights of the city on the map. During our stay we had some questions, and he was always willing to help. We would reccomend this appartment to everyone.

The host - super nice & attentive. Location-convenient tho not in a nice part of town. Apartment-adequate but lighting was poor, dirty or not working especially in kitchenette & bedside. Grounds-unkept, overgrown, no hammock. No washer found, just access to his washer offered.

Perfekter Ort zum Entspannen

Wir hatten fünf sehr schöne Nächte in Carlo's wundervollem Appartement und können einen dortigen Aufenthalt nur empfehlen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und es fehlte uns an nichts. Selbst für ein kleines erstes Frühstück und eine Flasche Wasser wurde im Voraus gesorgt. Grundsätzlich war Carlo ein perfekter Gastgeber und die Kommunikation mit ihm verlief sehr entspannt. Der schöne Garten, welchen man durch die Fensterfront auch aus dem Appartement heraus bestaunen konnte, sowie die zentrale Stadtlage haben diese Unterkunft zu einem Ort gemacht, an welchen wir nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag gerne zurückkehrt sind. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Mein Aufenthalt war ganz wunderbar. Die Studio Wohnung hat alles was man braucht. Das Bett ist sehr bequem. Der Garten wunderschön. Carlo ist sehr freundlich und hat mich super in Empfang genommen und alles genaustens erklärt. Er stand auch für weitere Fragen oder Ähnl. stets zur Verfügung. Trois jours a Palermo

Schöne Tage in Palermo

Wir haben Mitte Mai zehn Tage in Palermo verbracht und in dem Ferienappartement von Carlo gewohnt. Es ist ein schöner, funktional eingerichteter Schlafraum mit Küchenzeile und Bad, dessen Highlight fraglos der herrliche Orangengarten ist. Hier haben wir jeden Morgen gefrühstückt. Die Lage der Wohnung ist erstklassig, denn wir konnten von hier aus alle Ziele mühelos fußläufig erreichen. Carlo ist ein sehr freundlicher, engagierter und jederzeit bemühter Gastgeber, der sich um jede Kleinigkeit sofort gekümmert hat. Gleich zur Begrüßung erhielten wir von ihm einen Stadtplan von Palermo mit Hinweisen zu wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten und einem begeisterten Input zur reichen Geschichte der Stadt. Kurzum: wir hatten in Carlos Appartement in Palermo eine wunderschöne Zeit.

A cozy, quiet little place with garden view

This is my third stay in Carlo's studio apartment and it was like coming home. The design of this compact place is just right because it was put together by Carlo and his wife, both architects. So, whether the tenant is a man or woman, their needs have been anticipated. A kilim on the floor and artwork on the white walls make the place bright and pleasing to the eye. Coffee,bottled water, jam and croissants are a nice welcome to a weary traveler. A bakery, restaurants and supermarket are nearby and the bus to the airport is about 9 blocks away. Two thumbs up!
