We had a great week here, the house has everything you need, set in beautiful gardens and with amazing views. Peter is a lovely host. We would definitely recommend this place and would love come back some day. Orgiva is a very friendly town. We would recommend Baraka and Pizza N Love for food and also Nur Bakery for bread and amazing cakes
This was a holiday we will never forget. We were met by Peter, the most affable of hosts, whose recommendations about what to do and where to eat were extremely useful. The house was lovely - very secluded and the highlight for us was the huge terrace with mountain views. We will remember relaxing here listening to Cat Stevens! Thank you Peter for a wonderful stay.
We stayed for a week with our children aged 9 and 11. Peter met us and directed us to the property which was walking distance (<15 mins) from Órgiva but nicely isolated.
The place was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. There was a supermarket and other stores in Órgiva and lucky for us some ripe pomegranates in the garden too!
One note for those with younger children is the second bedroom is off the terrace so not connected directly to the main house - this was fine for us and is clear in the description but worth flagging as might not fit so well for younger children.
The pool was clean and perfect for a dip and the garden really spacious - we especially enjoyed the terrace where we ate most meals.
Locally so much is accessible - we walked into Orgiva a few times and especially enjoyed the market, the library (Don Quixote exhibit!) and eating at Baraka. We also had a lovely coffee and snacks at the Cafe Galinda Plaza. We visited some of the white villages and loved Trevelez -we ate well at the restaurante la fragua- and left with plenty of ham. The kids enjoyed the 3 pigs trail. Kids also enjoyed Soportuja - the witch theme was fun but also a beautiful village and views. We took water from the amazing fizzy spring at Portugos - mixed reviews - I loved it - kids said it 'tasted like old coins smell' - still worth a visit.
Thanks so much to Peter for hosting us and providing a little local context. I hope we will be back to the area again in time!
Very nice villa and pool, in a large garden filled with different fruit trees. It is private, neighbouring houses are a long way away. We didn't have any issues with the road either driving it or walking. Lovely views of the mountains. Thank you Peter, we had a much needed rest and relaxing holiday. Agree with an earlier reviewer, Orgiva has its own vibe. It is very laid back and you can find everything you need.
Lovely place! We stayed here for the first week of our honeymoon and we loved it! It’s very private and the garden is lovely with lots of fruit trees!
We spent a few days by the pool and visiting nearby villages. Other days we went to Granada, to the Alhambra, went on some lovely hikes close by and just really had a full experience.
Peter was very friendly and helpful. The house has everything you need and there’s a big shop about 10mins away which also has everything you might need to buy..
We really enjoyed the ‘rustic’ quality of the property. Access via the narrow road was a challenge, at times, but didn’t detract too much from a wonderful break and a good holiday. Thanks very much !
We leave in the morning. Key left as instructed.
The ‘Hole in the Wall’ is a lovely property. The outside porch was excellent to watch the mountains change colour with the time of day.
Location was good once we got the hang of the road to and from the property.
Restaurants/Tapas bars were excellent. Orgiva has its own vibe. It is a working town but has an eclectic range of people, very friendly especially Mario’s for breakfast/brunch (Toastadas).
Easy access to the small villages in the Alpuljarra mountains. Orgiva’s Thursday morning market is a must.
Overall it was a lovely relaxing stay, beautiful surroundings at the property.
We've just had a wonderful stay here with our baby for her first holiday. The location is beautifully peaceful surrounded by mountain views, not too difficult to get to either. The host was friendly and check-in simple, just what we needed.
For a quiet getaway with excellent views and everything you need for a home from home feel this place has it all. Jojo the cat became a part of our family for the week too, very affectionate which our daughter loved! Huge selection of music and films to choose from for entertainment, never bored.
Overall really happy with our stay and would definitely stay again.
House had everything we needed, including the bonus of lots of dvds for the day it rained. Lovely big garden with fantastic view of the surrounding hills. Quiet and relaxing. Pool was great for dipping but bit small for serious swimmers. Host Peter is easy to contact and very helpful. House has a house cat who mostly lives outside but does ’talk’ a lot. It’s a 5 min drive, 20 min walk into nearest town, Orgiva, which is small but has everything you might need.
We had a great time at the villa, great views all round. Villa was nice and cool inside, and the pool was great. Peter met us at the Villa and check in and check out were straight forward
Lovely place, very peaceful, comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the veranda for morning coffee and meals with great view of mountains. House has all the amenities you need.
Great cat - the house has its own cat who is quite the friendliest cat ever.
Superb host - Peter was more than helpful, meeting us late at night as our schedule meant we were very late. He was also incredibly helpful is assisting with a minor issue we had.
All in all thoroughly recommended
Peter met us at the arranged destination and took us to the property, he explained everything añd left us with a cat for company. A wonderful 10 days 😁
This is an extremely comfortable, well equipped home in a quiet location at the end of a narrow lane around 15 minutes' walk into town.
The house has everything you will need, including comfortable beds, washing machine, dish washer, loads of fridge and freezer space and a lovely terrace with beautiful views through the olive trees to the Sierras beyond, where we spent most of our time.
The pool isn't massive but it's all you need to cool off. There is also an extensive collection of books and CDs.
Richard the property owner is very helpful, should you need him.
Expect regular visits from Jojo the cat, a handsome and extremely friendly lad who likes the occasional treat and lots of love.
We have been to Orgiva before and this was our first time at this property, but we definitely hope to return.
We loved our stay here at the villa and Origva.
The villa is a quiet hideaway down a bumpy little track, surrounded by olive trees and mountain views.
It takes just under 15 mins to walk into the town and is an easy walk if you are in good health.
The pool area is lovely and the breeze very welcome! Good shaded area too.
Peter was a great host full of useful info too. He is always on hand if there are any issues.
The town of Origva is quirky and has some great health food shops, patisseries, food market (Thursdays) large super market but also lots of small ones too.
We recommend eating at Baraka, an Arabic/international cuisine with the most incredible vegetarian dishes! Also Pizza Love is great and the cafe/ restaurant in the square is perfect for coffee, tostados and watching the world go by! There is also a lovely little market in the square selling alternative clothing/drums/jewellry etc
The Alhambra De Granada was an hour away and the beaches 30 mins. There are some nice walks locally too but depends on heat. The village of Soportuja was interesting too and looks a bit like Halloween all year round, we recommend walking up through the village below as the parking looked challenging! The village of Lanjaron is only 15 mins away, its a spa town with a great walk up to the castle and lots of cafe, restaurants and shops.
We recommend the villa and Orgiva if you enjoy off the beaten track and alternative lifestyle away from crowds.
We will defintley be returning
Nothing to complain about. Peter very helpful, house in great spot. Dip in the pool followed by evenings on the Veranda were a joy. As was visiting the out lying villages like Capiliera. Great place to explore the Sierra Navarda from, if you like cycling/walking.
Delightful house & garden from which you canexplore the Alpujarra region & Sierra Neveda
We have just returned from a lovely week in the Alpujarra region of Spain. The house was clean & comfortable with a beautiful garden from which you could sit or swim and look at the mountains through olive & orange trees. Peter was very helpful on arrival but we did not need to trouble him thereafter as everything we need was available.
It is a great area to explore. We visited the Alhambra in Granada (booked on line 3 months before), walked through wild flowers, olive & almond groves in the Alpujarra & went up through pretty white villages to the Sierra Nevada.
Orgiva itself is a working town with supermarkets, plenty of places to get a coffee, glass of wine or dinner and a Thursday market.
We could easily have stayed longer. Thank you for a great week.

Hole in the Wall review
This is probably the nicest house we have stayed in over the 10 years we have been visiting family in Orgiva - clean and comfortable with beautifully kept gardens.
However, as we are over 70 years of age, albeit fit and healthy, a car was a necessity to get into town and back. Definitely not an easy 10 minute walk!
A few basic food supplies (as supplied in other houses we have stayed in) would have been a thoughtful gesture after a tiring 10 hour journey.

Great house and garden
This is a lovely house with a great garden. The house is just right for 4 people - plenty of space, and the garden is really lovely, big with lots of fruit trees, very well kept and very private. A previous reviewer mentioned the pool was smaller than expected, but we found it to be fine - just what you’d expect for a house this size, and perfectly adequate for 2 adults and 2 teenage boys. Peter the owner is friendly and helpful and is just down the road if any help is needed. Orgiva town centre is about 10-15 minutes’ walk away down some rustic lanes/tracks and the walk shouldn’t be a problem for anyone who’s reasonably fit. Orgiva has plenty of restaurants and 3 or 4 supermarkets with pretty much everything you’d need for a couple of weeks. A great place which we’d certainly like to return to.

Beautiful mountain views. Quiet location, lovely garden full of bird song.
Just right for a week climbing and walking. We went in the Easter holidays. The weather was warm and sunny. The area is great for sport climbing which was our main reason for coming. Órgiva has a laid back vibe, with friendly locals and hippy travellers.
Our house was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the terrace overlooking the mountains. It was just about hot enough to leap into the pool. We were visited by the owners cat Jo-Jo who is an affectionate and lovable cat who we loved stroking and chatting to.
Peter, the owner met us on arrival. He is also laid back and friendly. He has a great sound system and lots of CDs so we were able to listen to music when sitting out on the terrace. As the house is the at the end of the lane you can turn up the tunes without disturbing anyone. Great! We loved the privacy of the house and it’s location. Rural but a short walk into town. Ideal.

Wonderful location - superb villa with pool and private gardens
This property is in a fantastic location. Peaceful private gardens with pool, yet only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Orgiva. The views from all sides of the property are wonderful - we enjoyed watching the sunset with a glass of wine from the terrace. The large private garden was very pleasant for sunbathing and swimming in the pool and was very peaceful and relaxing. It is ideally situated for all the mountain villages where most of the walking in the area starts from. We would certainly stay here again if re-visiting this area. Peter the owner was very friendly and went out of his way to make us feel very much at home and has local knowledge which can be very useful when planning trips around the area.

Private villa, close to village, with lovely pool
Stayed at this villa for 2 weeks from 20 August. House was well equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay - even a nice choice of books and DVDs! Its in a private location but close to Orgiva town, which was convenient, although the drive from the town to the house is a little bit tricky - single lane track with some tight corners. Fine once you get used to it!
The gardens and outside space are wonderful, with fruit and olive trees around you. The pool was a really enjoyable area and perfect for the hot summer days! Peter cleaned the pool weekly and its very well maintained. The views of the mountains are incredible. Waking up to those views every morning was a real treat. We were looking for somewhere private and relaxing, and this property gave us just what we were looking for.
Peter was great - very friendly and helpful. The only less positive thing for us was we found the double bed uncomfortable and both woke with painful backs. Peter said this was a new mattress, and it clearly was, but we struggled with the comfort level of the bed for a few nights (probably used to a softer mattress) before deciding to use the single beds in the second room instead. They were really comfortable!
Jojo the cat was a regular visitor - we're not cat people, though he was quite cute!
Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

Great find
Lovely property with everything you could wish for. Villa is really well equipped and maintained.
Had a great couple of weeks, very relaxing. Away from it all but still close to Orgiva. Enjoyed a few meals out, our favourites were Baraka, La Almazara and Pizza 'N' Love, really nice and good value. Thank you Peter for all your recommendations. Had a great time exploring the mountain villages and Granada. Wish we could have stay longer.
