Exceeded already lofty expectations.

Stayed for a week here with our two young children. Absolutely loved it. Amazing view of the Loch and brilliant sized garden which the kids loved playing football in. As well as the odd water balloon fight! (We were very fortunate with the weather). The beds were very comfortable and we loved getting cosy with the fire on after longs days out exploring the area. So much to do, could have stayed longer and didn't want to leave! Great location only 20mins from Fort William. We did most of the local attractions e.g. The Jacobite, Ben Nevis distillery, Neptune's staircase, Nevis Range Mountain Experience, Steall Waterfall, Glencoe West Highland museum and various walks. Kids highlight (which we would recommend for something different) was the Pygmy goat walking at Darah Croft, Strontian. All in all, had a great week here. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again. Thank you! :)

Lovely cottage, excellent view of loch from living room, bedroom and bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable. The drive down from the main road to the cottage has spectacular view. Lovely decking area to enjoy a wine and take in the surroundings. Great communication from owner Undine and a lovely touch of tin of shortbread waiting on us. Loved the log burner too. Very Nice Cottage & owners, Excellent Location

Firstly, thank you for allowing us the opportunity for me and my family to stay at your 'immaculately cleaned' and welcoming cottage. It perfectly located for exploring the surrounding areas. Cottage very 'generously' stocked with everyday use items. All home comforts provided. Owners themselves very nice friendly people who obviously take pride in what they do and go out of there way to ensure everything is just perfect. We missed nothing and hopefully we will be back! Once again Many Thanks.

Cosy & comfortable with amazing views.

What a wonderful place! The house is exactly as displayed; very clean & very well kept; well decorated & with everything you could possibly need. Undine’s communication from start to finish was excellent. Spot on directions and check-in could not have been easier. Unfortunately we couldn’t do too much exploring on foot as storm Ciara visited for our short stay. That said, looking out at that amazing view, from a warm and very comfy environment, when it was blowing a hoolie outside was quite memorable. Amazing waves! The only point I would note for future visitors is, if you’re tall (over 6’) just watch your head while on the stairs. It is marked but my son learned that the hard way! If you book this cottage, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Undine for sharing your home, we had a really great time and hope to return!

Stunning views

Driftwood is a lovely clean & comfortable cottage. The beds though firm actually have mattress toppers! The view from the lounge, double bedroom and bathroom windows are stunning. I have just one warning for anyone taking a small dog only part the garden has secure fencing. Our rather large yorkshire terrier escaped on the first day & ended up by the Loch, we blocked the bottom of the steps to the decking with our beach umbrella so at least he could sit outside & growl at the rabbits, oh how he would have loved to have chased them round the garden but it was not to be. The gardens all back onto each other & the bird life is abundant. WiFi & mobile reception was good all week.

Nice stay

Enjoyed our stay friendly and helpful property manager who recommended a great day out. Only slight issue was the owners having the property valued on a certain day which made us feel we needed to both clean and be out for the day.

My husband and I are retired scientists and we enjoy staying in Beachcomber Cottage but if we can't be there we like others to enjoy it.
Driftwood Cottage is on the beautiful Ardrhu Estate, Onich, between Fort William and Glencoe in the Highlands of Scotland.

contact: 0044 (0)7563 500196

Why they chose this property

For me this cottage is perfectly situated. It is away from busy roads and has fantastic views across Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond. It is perfectly situated to discover the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and all the outdoor activities available everywhere around Ardrhu. The cottage is also perfect for just to "get away from it all", to relax, to recuperate, to quieten the mind etc.
We enjoy to stay in the cottage ourselves on occasion and never get enough of the weathers going by.

My husband and I have refurbished this property to a very high standard.
It benefits from central heating and a wood burning stove which provides a wonderful cosiness in the cooler evenings. From the sitting room you have a fantastic view towards Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond. In summer when the sun is shining onto the decking its the perfect location to have breakfast or dinner outside, or why not take a cup of tea and stroll down to the shore to sit on a rock and relax close to the sea and let the wind and weather ruffle your hair for a while.

The cottage has been fitted with a kitchen incl. washing machine, fridge freezer and dishwasher.

The bathroom has been completely renovated and is stylish and practical.

In general, the cottage is very unique and homely, the decor has been carefully chosen, and it provides a calming and relaxing ambient. It is suitable in all seasons, and it is wonderful sitting on the sofa and watching the "weather" going by.

What makes this property unique

Everyone who visited Ardrhu is blown away by the fantastic setting. There are only few places left which provide you with so much peace, wilderness and beauty.

The cottage for me is a perfect setting for all sorts of activities, whether you like to relax or just go out for adventures. Right between the Nevis and Glencoe mountain range it provides all year activities incl. winter sports. The many lochs and the sea in the area give plenty of opportunity for water sports, including fishing, snorkeling, diving or sailing.

... and can there be a better activity after a long day out to come home to a fire in the wood burning stove?
This cottage is my "getting away" and my "soul searching" and my "recuperation" and the perfect place to explore this beautiful area with its many exciting attractions. It is centrally located for Glencoe and Ben Nevis range if you enjoy hiking or winter sporting!
