Pretty cottage in a quiet rural location. The cottage is well equipped and everything worked- showers/ovens/heating. There was plenty of space for parking. Alex was really helpful with directions and our queries. It was all very good and fitted our needs well.

Relaxing break for birthday celebration

I chose Yaffle cottage in order to celebrate my 70th birthday with family. The cottage is located in a quiet rural location, near to lovely woodland walks, but not far from the convenience of a village and its shop. Alex was a friendly and relaxed host who greeted us on arrival and left us a delicious home made loaf ! We were very grateful that he was happy to let us check in earlier and leave later at our leisure. He also contacted me in advance to ask how we would like the beds to be arranged. The house was spacious and well appointed and the layout was very suitable for our family of 8. We enjoyed the seclusion of the garden and the natural surroundings as well as ample parking space. Thank you, Alex.

Wonderful West Sussex weekend

Beautiful remote setting for a family reunion! The property is large and inviting with wonderful walks and some great pubs and an excellent village shop all with in walking distance - albeit on a quiet (but used) country lane. Alex, our host was friendly, efficient and happy to pop over to sort out our lack of hot water issue - previous tenant turned off in error. All in all a fabulous property in a beautiful setting with a superb host!

The most relaxing holiday in secluded property

My family and I went away for a relaxing weekend break to unwind and chill, Alex's property was perfect. The cottage is beautiful with miles of walks in the surrounding area. If you want a relaxing time away with little distractions and in a secluded area, choose this place!

Beautiful accommodation in outstanding location

We stayed here for a 3 day family birthday celebration. Within 5 minutes of booking, I had a message from Alex and nothing has been too much trouble. The house is huge and has more than enough space for 8 guests with everything we could have needed from home made bread waiting for us on arrival to the cupboard full of games for all ages. The location is just amazing and the dogs had a great time playing in the woods and also the secure garden. Cannot recommend Yaffle Cottage enough for a family group get together. Would also recommend The Greyhound for a great food at a reasonable price. Thank you Alex for such a stress free stay 😊

Wonderful!

We had an amazing long weekend with family celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. The location of Yaffle Cottage was perfect- lovely enclosed garden to keep the dogs from wondering and would be great for the summer as there was a BBQ and plenty of outdoor furniture. The cottage was in a secluded spot so no noise whatsoever from any roads. There were plenty of walks that we did without using the car, although there are loads of walks you can do if you drive to the start point. Graffham Village was only a mile up the road (walkable!) and the Forresters pub perfect for an evening meal and post walk pint- all of our walks ended there!! Yaffle cottage was the most well equipped self catering property that we've ever been to- everything you need was there. It was homely, comfortable and spacious for us all (6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs). The extra sitting room, which we called "the snug" is great if you wanted something different on the telly, play games or if you had older teenagers who wanted their own space. Alex was lovely and really helpful with everything. He gave us an early check in and late check out which made our weekend even longer! All in all this is a fantastic place to stay and we'll definitely be returning!

Half term getaway

Five days in the middle of the woods with three dogs absolutely fabulous. The autumn leaves were in abundance making a picturesque scenery. The cottage is in the middle of no where so need to drive out to see any life or shops. This was fine for us as enjoyed playing board games and relaxing in this delightful cottage.

Yaffle Cottage - August 2020

Just come home from a wonderful short break at Yaffle Cottage. We have all enjoyed staying in this idyllic woodland retreat. It has everything you will need to make your stay as easy as possible with lovely walks right on the doorstep too! It has many beaches close by so you can combine beach and countryside trips out during your stay depending on the weather. However if the weather isn't kind don't think you would get bored staying home! We had a mixed age group of adults, teens, a toddler and two dogs and this place suited us perfectly. Alex is indeed a super host and is on hand to help with any queries. Only issue we had was due to covid with restrictions on eating out with children under 16 and no permits allowed for fishing. Of course this could apply anywhere at the moment. Would certainly recommend this place!

Wonderful Family Holiday

A lovely cottage, set in lovely woodlands, on arrival Alex had left some nice snacks, wine & home baked bread, The cottage had a lovely large kitchen and large bedrooms with very comfy beds, which my Granddaughter managed to get more than 8 hours sleep each day. The location is great for walking & cycling from the door with many attractions nearby, only 30 - 40 mins to the coast, plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Definitely recommend for a peaceful family holiday.

4 night getaway at Yaffle

Lovely, peaceful location with woodland all around. Great for dog walking on easy to follow sandy bridleway and hardly saw a soul. Alex was a very attentive host and is very nearby should you need anything. Nice touch with welcome goodies on arrival (bread, milk and Cava!). Two beds (both en-suite) on ground floor with kitchen and living room. Two others downstairs (shared bath plus separate loo) but have outdoor access to patio at lower level. Clean and tidy and beds very comfortable. Thanks Alex!

Pefect cottage for family weekend

We stayed at the beautiful Yaffel Cottage with our daughter, son in law, 5 year old and 3 year old Granddaughter's for our Son's wedding at Grittenham Barn which is only a 7 minute car journey. The cottage was a home from home we didn't want for anything and if we did Alex was on call. The children enjoyed playing the games in the cupboard especially the monkey game. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Alex was the perfect host. Will definately be back.

Birthday celebration

Yaffle Cottage, where to begin. I have been given the onerous task of telling the world all about our stay. I say onerous because I just know I am going to run out of superlatives describing the most wonderful time spent in this glorious property. To start with, the unanimous decision from our party of eight on arrival was if any of us owned Yaffle Cottage there was no way we would let it out to strangers. Our party was four couples and as we all came from different locations we decided to do the civilized thing and meet up in a local pub. This turned out to be The Foresters Arms and upon arrival were greeted much hugging, kissing and back slapping as my wife and I had not seen the others for quite a while as we live in France and were a teeny weeny bit late. Not because we had just arrived after a seven hour drive and an eight hour ferry crossing and another hour from Portsmouth, it was just that we were not quite sure of the way from Portsmouth. The Pub by the way was very near to the cottage, probably 10 mins. And was very good. On our arrival at the cottage we were welcomed by our host Alex who showed us round and explained everything to us. In the beginning there was almost too much to take in but after unpacking we began exploring. The Cottage is set in the middle of woodland which is beautiful and the two dogs that were in our party made very good use of them. The four double bedrooms are large with big comfortable beds and more than enough wardrobe space. The Cottage is built on two levels. The upper which could be classed as ground floor has two beautiful en suites offering every amenity while downstairs has two equally gorgeous double bedrooms and a shared bathroom which has everything you could want. While not the winter evenings and mornings could be on the chilly side and the heating system was second to none. Plenty of radiators and most importantly two heat zones, was handy for us as living in France must have made our blood thinner because being on the lower part of the house I set the room stat at a civilised level while the two bedrooms above had their thermostats switched off. This is the attention to detail offered by Alex. The kitchen is very spacious, eight of us could sit comfortably at breakfast and like everywhere else was to the highest standard. But I digress, go Yaffle Cottage but book early. We did and had the most wonderful time. Marion and Malcolm.

A lovely place to stay for a family gathering. Very well equipped, lots of space good sized bedrooms. A very helpful owner and all set in beautiful countryside. A lovely way to meet up with family and friends, with everyone on equal footing, so one one has to play host. I hope we can come back again soon!

A beautiful, well-equipped and comfortable cottage in a fantastic location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yaffle cottage. Alex was an excellent host and the house was immaculate. He even provided a Christmas tree! Yaffle suited our family gathering perfectly with ensuite bedrooms on the ground floor (great for elderly parents) and two more bedrooms plus a games room (ideal for teenagers) downstairs. There are TVs in every room and three large comfortable bathrooms. My two-year-old niece also had a good time with a board across the top of the stairs to protect her from a tumble. The kitchen is spacious and extremely well equipped with two cookers. We were able to prepare Christmas dinner for eight and sit in comfort round the table to eat it. The location is lovely too with walks through a scenic nature reserve just minutes from the front door. Glimpses of the Downs made for good photos as well. All in all a perfect cottage for our family Christmas break.

Such a beautiful property, the setting even more stunning!

I can't speak highly enough of our stay at Yaffle Cottage. The property is beautiful, furnished to perfection. The owner Alex was one of the nicest guys ever, plus he left us a few supplies to get started - fresh bread, milk and wine already on hand, and he was on hand if we hand any questions The setting is amazing, opening straight into the forest from the back gate or down the driveway the opposite way. Not short of places to explore. The dogs and kids loved every inch of greenery. And a good pint (and food) at The Forresters isn't too far to walk!! Will certainly be back!
