Location and amenities was fabulous. all what you needed is walking distance.
Only one down for us was to get hot water you need reset boiler every time
We had a fantastic time and with a short walk to Shanklin village and the beach it was the perfect location. The park facilities were great and we particularly enjoyed the indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
Very dated windows blown net curtains shocking there was no TV until my husband sorted the Ariel with new connections cheap bedding Gas cooker very slow needing replacement
We did have a great stay here, we've been to this area before and it is perfect for things to do. Caravan was lovely , clean and roomy tho the boiler wasnt working properly and cold showers were frequent. Check in was a bit panicky too as a private booking the site office had no knowledge of which caravan or key details. Luckily the owners replied quickly to my message. On site the sports pitch perfect for our 15 year olds tho swimming pool is very pricey for the weekly pass. Overall despite the boiler problem (we did manage to have the odd hot shower) we would syay again
Nice caravan in a well kept holiday park. A little worn around the edges but overall it provides a perfect place to explore the IOW. All contained with the facilities you need. Just remember the fridge on the counter is actually a freezer and not a beer fridge.

Disappointing
Woukd be lovely if the owner got the boiler repaired properly as had no hot water all weekend. Previous renters also had the same problem. Also no proper internet acc3ss from tv.internet not p
We couldnt find anywhere to stay for the half term break away. We were looking super short notice.
Found this property and booked it. Was nervous as never used this site before, but the whole process was exceptional.
It was a bit costly as we have stayed on the same caravan park with park dean for literally half the price. However on this occasion as parkdean appeared full we went private. Caravan was a good size. Elements need some love, but ultimately it suited our family of five perfectly! Thank you!
Photos online different to what we lived with. It was listed as an 8 berth, there were 2 very uncomfortable sofas, none pulling out to make a bed, no extra quilt for the 7th person on the first night, informed the host she got a mattress & quilt delivered the following day, but nowhere to store it during the day. A radiator was leaking in one of the bedroom which soaked 2 bedroom carpets host informed no response,I sent the host a photograph of the radiator, so she could see it wasn’t a recent thing, soggy ceiling outside bedrooms where rain had come through, close to water coming through, host informed no response. What would we have done had the ceiling came through? Faulty oven door that had been wrote in guest book in 2021, the problem is still there. Dining area dining table with only 4 chairs for a 8 berth. Wall light in one of the bedrooms broken. This property should be downgraded to a six berth.
We enjoyed our stay, but the price for the caravan and the service we received were not well-matched. Communication by the owner was very poor, with messages ignored and check-in details only supplied when we were on the ferry after sending nagging emails. On arrival, first impressions were good, with nice touches like milk in the fridge and coffee and biscuits available. The lounge of the caravan was comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked, but the bedroom end of the caravan was very damp - there was mould in the wardrobe and our clothes were damp every morning. The second bedroom stank of bleach and we couldn't get rid of the smell all holiday. There were minor niggles we kept finding - the electrics would randomly trip while we were out (nothing of ours turned on) so we'd come back and find the fridge not working. One sofa in the lounge is missing the back cushions, so was not comfortable to use. There was a lot of burn damage around the fire which did not look safe to use (we didn't need it), the curtains were too small and the nets had been made out of scraps, the kitchen cupboard doors were damaged and one looked ready to fall off, the shower mixer tap was damaged so you either got scalding hot or freezing cold showers and the boiler kept losing pressure (perhaps the leak that's causing the damp?) so we got no hot water at all! The caravan is also billed as suitable for 8 people, but there are only 6 beds. Definitely not worth nearly £1000 a week!

Mostly great
The property itself was fantastic.. Wifi had to be purchased through the park holiday, which is fine, but the caravan was in a position that no eifi signal could be obtained and so we couldnt actually purchase and ue wifi at all. Having young children, wifi was a key for us.
Also, the pool was closed for maintenance and this was not advised. We were able to go over to the sister accommodation pool tho, but this was quite a walk, especially with 2 youngsters in the rain. Not the property owners fault tho.
Just got back from a lovely stay in a lovely caravan.
Host, Laila was brilliant and replied to messages quickly.
Location was perfect and a great place for children. Will definitely use again.
Thank you xx
Very good, clean, tidy caravan - park facilities limited sadly due to Covid
Very good value, spacious and clean caravan very well equipped in some respects although no toys / kids games as was stated in the description. Nor DVD player. No problem - minor quibbles. The amount we paid was excellent for what we got and so I’d definitely recommend this caravan for a family of 4 or maybe 5... It’s only 4 mins walk to a large new Lidl and a few mins more to the town centre and then seafront.
Tricky that so many facilities and entertainments were limited to Covid restrictions but the staff without exception at Lower Hyde were excellent, friendly and professional at all times.
Thanks very much for a really good stay to break up the October half term!!

very old caravan and full of problems
from the moment we arrived we had problems. First, no towels.. the desc says " linen provided" but obviously this did not include towels. Rang the owner ...she said she had emailed me that info .. email never recieved. She did then go and buy towels and have them delivered by her cleaner the same day .
Then we realised we did not have enough cutlery ( only three tea spoons and two dessert spoons for a caravan that sleeps six ) . We then discovered that the oven door was hanging off. The hall light did not work . The outside light did not work . Bulbs out on both the kitchen and living areas. Extractor fan in the bathroom not working . The window in one of the bedrooms was broken and could not be used .Again reported .. this time directly to the cleaner. New cutlery appeared within 24 hours. The oven door was mended. The window was looked at but was not properly repaired and stayed shut for the entire week. Could not be op[ened .
On arrival the second twin bedroom smelt very damp and musty we had to open all the windows . We did not realise until bedtime that the carpet was sodden. The boiler was leaking and the adjacent carpet was soaking up all the water. It meant one of us had to sleep on the pull out bed in the lounge. This was reported the next day . The water was pouring out of the boiler .. through the floor .. and onto the hard standing underneath. A plumber appeared the following day and said he had rectified it but is continued to leak all week and despite further reports nothing was done.. resulting in the second bedoom being unusable for the whole week .The cleaner tried to recify this by putting towels on the floor in the bedroom and around the pipes in the boiler cupboard but this only made the situation worse as they became sodden very quickly .
Then to our horror we discovered that the shower waste pipe was not plumbed in and the water was pouring out from the shower directly onto the hard standing underneath. It was reported and was rectified on the same day .. 5 days into our stay. It had been like it for 5 days until we spotted it .
The bulbs were never replaced. The outside light was never fixed.
The van is NOT a ten min walk to the beach .. it is at least 25 mins walk we walked it twice and timed ourselves ( and we walk fast )
We have reported all these problems to the owner . She has offered us a free weekend.. incl ferry .. to the same van .. in the winter months .. as compensation. Really ?
We had a lovely little getaway in this clean and well stocked caravan.
Lots of lovely little touches, such as milk in the fridge when we arrived.
We didn’t think of bringing a tea towel, but purchased a set from the on site shop, which was very convenient.
Great facilities on site too - the adventure playground was very popular.
We've been the the Isle of Wight many times but this was one of our best holidays so far. The weather was really hot and sunny and the caravan was lovely - very spacious and clean and we loved the decking area! It was nice and sunny to sit outside for breakfast and in the evening there was welcome shade to sit outside enjoying a glass of wine! The location is great too - walking distance of Shanklin town centre and also the beach and close to various supermarkets. Thanks for a lovely holiday! We will definitely be back!
The cabin is clean, well maintained and warm despite it being winter. The hot water was fast, instantaneous and the shower was excellent.

Family friendly site in good location
We really enjoyed our break on the Isle of Wight. The location was good for exploring and the site was family friendly. There was a Café/restaurant that was good for full breakfasts and meals if you’re not in the mood to cook. A small supermarket is within walking distance near the entrance to the site for groceries and essentials. The train station is also close to the site entrance and is a real experience in it own right! This property provides everything needed for your stay.

Brilliant space, nice and spacious.
We had a fantastic time in the caravan. Beds were comfy, shower was such a good size, nice spacious decking area. There was everything we needed ready and waiting, all we needed to bring were towels. It was very well cleaned and maintained. No complaints at all. Honestly can't say enough good things. Would recommend to anyone and can't wait to stay again.
We really enjoyed our break in the Isle of Wight. The caravan was located on a lovely family friendly holiday park with good amenities. The cafe/restaurant/ bar was really useful for cooked breakfasts and evening meals if you don’t feel like cooking.
Good base for exploring the island and Shanklin. Close to two supermarkets and Shanklin station.
There was a good cycle/ footpath from the site for exploring. Cycle hire available on the site.

Short break in Shanklin
The property was clean and had a very spacious living area which meant there was plenty of room for all of us. It was well positioned on site near to the entertainment and play areas. It also had a reserved parking space right beside the mobile home. It was only a few minutes walk from the site to local shops and beach areas, and there was a supermarket almost adjoined to the site, so was in an ideal position.

Sorry to Leave!!!
This was my first time to the Isle of wight (the rest of my party had all been before) and i enjoyed every minute!
The caravan was spacious, clean and located the 'ideal' distance to get to the playground, pool, shop and entertainment (and with 2 kids in tow, we spent a fair amount of time on that route!). It was equipped with the stuff what we needed, including patio furniture so we could enjoy breakfast in the sun!
We used the pools at the both parks (Landguard & Lower Hyde) and they were clean and well managed by the lifeguards. They do get busy, but the wristband system gives everyone a chance.
The park is about a 10 minute walk (5 min drive) away from Shanklin beach, where there is loads to do including crazy golf, kids rides and amazing ice cream - thoroughly recommend the salted caramel.
There is plenty to do around the island and would recommend:
- Blackgang Chine & Robin Hill Family theme parks (you can buy dual entry ticket for both that works out more economical).
- Hovercraft watching at Ryde (think i was more excited than the kids)
- The Needles - great views and lots of entertainment (free parking for national trust members)
- Eating out - Bargeman's Rest (Newport), great setting and good pub grub - Bodega (Ryde), great hot chocolate and cake!! - The Waterfront (Shanklin), brilliant atmosphere and service.
And we had a great caravan to use as our base, which was the icing on the cake really.
We had an amazing time and were sorry to leave!!

About the host

We are a young family of 4 who live in London, but love spending our free time on the Isle of Wight. We call it, our little piece of paradise :)
Why they chose this property
We loved this Caravan the minute we saw it, the private decking was a big yes, as it gives as some private outside space, where we can have BBQS, eat our meals, or just sit outside to enjoy the sun. Also all the facilities the park offer was a big winning point, especially with our little ones. :)
What makes this property unique
Private decking and private parking directly to the caravan.
