About this property

The Cotswolds - The Hall - Grade II listed cottage in the centre of Burford.

The lovely town of Burford occupies a position on the meandering River Windrush. Burford is built on a fairly steep hill, and the view from the top of the hill looking down the High Street to the river is one of the classic panoramas of the Cotswolds. A lovely 4-arched medieval bridge, widened in the 18th century, crosses the Windrush, and though Burford itself does not occupy the northern bank, a walk across the bridge is rewarded by wonderful views across watermeadows to the spire of St. John the Baptist parish church.
152 The Hill has been completed renovated and now offers 5 individual holiday homes, The Hall is one of them, all five properties can be all be rented if you would like, family Christmas, special occasions, the whole property will sleep 23, but you will all have your individual space, Please see 8379754, 8379757, 8379752, 8379755, contact us for details.
The Hall is a three bedroom cottage, with two bathrooms and a sofa bed in the eaves of the old Medieval hall, the old ‘A’ frames are still visible. The Hall can sleep up to 9 people, all the bedrooms have there own style, the first bedroom has a king size bed and open up to the eaves, the next bedroom also has a king size bed, with a window looking out over Burford High Street and over the roofs to the church and the valley. The third bedroom has a triple bunk bed, with a double at the bottom and a single over, also enjoying the views over Burford. The bathrooms both have toilets, one with a large shower, the other with a bath/shower. The ground floor is open plan with kitchen dining room with log burner, leading onto a sitting room with TV and behind the stairs a snug/reading room with large fireplace and wood burning stove. There is also a cellar, which has been renovated as has the whole building, it still has the original worn steps leading down and the wooden steps where the beer barrels would have come down, you are more than welcome to use this area, but there is restricted headroom and the steps are not suitable for the unsteady.

A communal garden can be found at the back of the property, it is lawned and is available to all guests that are staying at 152 The Hill. When you step outside the property, you are metres away from a newsagent, a butcher, a deli, a chemist, restaurants, pubs, a little further down is the Co-op shop. It is a brilliant place to stay as a base to explore the Cotswolds, with many places to visit.

Fabulous few days

What an amazing spot. Burford is a lovely village with great shops, pubs and restaurants. This place is right in the middle and just a few mins walk from all you need. Cosy property with loads of character and all the facilities you need. Lots of games to while away the evenings on a comfy sofa.

Perfect hideaway

We rented this property because we go to Badminton Horse Trials every year which is about 1 hour away, my mother grew up in Burford and she loves to revisit and see her school friends. The property was perfect for what we needed, a nice cottage to come home too and chill. Had everything you needed and everything is within walking distance. Bonus, the beds are comfy. Will definitely hope to stay again in the future! The owners were very helpful and welcoming, and they bake a mean coffee & walnut cupcake! The HOUSLEY/NOONANS

A lovely Cotswold Christmas

Five adults and one cat - we had a lovely stay at The Hill. The house is in a great location on the edge of Buford - which looked lovely with Christmas lights adorning beautiful old buildings. The house was comfortably furnished, Christmas decorations, warm and cosy with 2 wood burning stoves and a welcome pack which included treats for the cat! Just a couple of things to feed back: The 3rd bedroom - with the bunk beds - has no bedside light which made a kindle and a phone with a light very useful accompaniments at bedtime. The kitchen has a very small fridge and freezer compartment, which we found a real squeeze for our party staying over the Christmas period and doing all the usual cooking. A larger fridge freezer would have been helpful. Also, although it didn't affect us, there is no washing machine, which I would think families with children would find pretty much essential especially during the summer. There were some items we missed in the kitchen, namely a cafetiere, egg cups and potato masher. However, overall we thought the house was a delightful place to stay and would highly recommend it.

Brimming with character in a fantastic location!

Wonderful cottage in the heart of Burford. Full of character with exposed beams and stonework throughout and yet beautifully renovated to a high modern standard. Exactly as the photos show!! We stayed in The Cottage but neighbouring properties in same "private lane" with same access gate from street would make this a perfect place for larger parties as well. Burford high street is a busy road, so 2 of the bedrooms do hear traffic noise, but don't let that put you off. It's very quite after the days tourists stop travelling through, enabling you to enjoy the cottage and all that Burford has to offer. Would highly recommend this property and would love to visit again with more of my family to take over the other properties too, as well as the large communal garden at the rear of the properties.. Sally and her family were fabulous hosts in providing a welcome package as well as helping out immediately with a couple of little problems we had! Thank you

Great location for exploring the Cotswolds!

Our family of five stayed in Burford for a week before a wedding in London. Sally was very attentive and the rental was well equipped with kitchen items, charcoal grill and large dining table for our large family. We took advantage of the local pub scene and will have great memories of our stay.
