Stunning Property

The Owner could not have been more helpful and it is a lovely house/ It had a lot of rooms, bathrooms, good sitting rooms. spacious kitchen and good outdoor eating area. It was perfect with 8 adults and 3 small children. Lovely walks in the vineyards to the left and the village with pizza places to the right. Lake Garda very near as was the Airport and so it worked very well for us

Our magical visit

We were a party of 5 adults and 8 children and we had an amazing stay here. A little bit “shabby chic” in parts and we would have welcomed air con as the fans were not sufficient for the temperatures at night. But all in all it was beautiful.

Great Place! (with a Small Catch)

The villa is stunning both inside and out. The grand hall and two master bedrooms are breathtaking. Great location and excellent services for events. The owners are extremely helpful and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The one thing people should know before going in though is that there are actually two separate villas in this building. So if the people occupying the other villa are quiet there's no problem. But if they come ready to party then you will definitely hear them and notice their presence. That might not be a problem for many but it should be kept in mind so there are no surprises. Other than that La Serenella West Wing is absolutely perfect!

The pictures simply speak for themselves. This is a truly stunning property in a beautiful area.

We have had the most wonderful stay in La Serenella. As a party of 12 encompassing 3 generations there was plenty of room for all. The setting is gorgeous and very private yet there is also the secret door that leads you straight out into the village to make walking to the various restaurants so easy. There's a great pizza place which also does take aways and we had a delicious meal at Locanda dal Nane in the garden at the back of the church. The adults went wine tasting with Matteo at Montecarino vineyard. His enthusiasm for wine was infectious and we spent a wonderful afternoon there. I'd also recommend going to Torri del Benaco - a gorgeous lakeside town with a Monday morning market. When the weather became very hot we drove slightly further afield to the cooler Lake Ledro - a smaller lake slightly north of Lake Garda. There's a hotel overlooking the end of the lake where you can have lunch with an amazing view. Take your swim stuff as peddle boats with slides can be hired for 7euros a half hour. We also spent lots of time just relaxing at the villa. The pool was used every day. We especially liked late afternoon as it was by then in partial shade. Being above ground made it feel much warmer and we all agreed the temperature was very pleasant. Our favourite days were bellinis by the pool followed by a stroll to the pizzeria. We would like to thank Giada and her mum for their hospitality. They were the perfect hosts.

Charming, beautiful place.

Stayed for 10 nights with the family, and had such a lovely holiday. The house is big, plenty of space for the 9 of us. Enjoyed the pool a lot as it was an average of 30°C each day! The rooms are situated on floor 1 and up, so those of us staying at the top worked our calf muscles. The other side of the villa was rented out to a group of Germans who enjoyed a few drinks every night, but after a gentle word they were quiet. The house is insulated but as there is no AC you will need the windows open during the summer so will hear some street noise and church bells. Can really recommend Flat Tio vineyard, around 15 minutes walk from the villa. Family owned and so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, really worth a visit. I can really recommend this house, great base for trips to Lake Garda and Verona, and also for just enjoying Valpolicella.

A beautiful property

We spent four nights at La Serenella and we all loved it. The property feels very special and we felt privileged to be allowed to make it our home for a few days. Giada and Bruschetta were charming and welcoming. We enjoyed visiting Lake Garda and Verona during our stay but we also spent a lot of time at the villa. The kitchen is very well stocked with crockery and equipment for self catering and the pool, although a little walk away from the main house, was a fun addition for the children.

The West Wing_heavenly!

What a beautiful holiday, the West Wing is a stunning property, steeped in history but so comfortable and inviting. The cucina is a great place to gather and the dining room caters for big groups. We decided to avail of Narina the chef who prepared a beautiful apperitivo for us on the veranda and an amazing 3 course meal of traditional dishes, so delicious!! Set in the middle of the vineyards, we enjoyed walks and cycles in the local area and a drive to Lake Garda only took 20mins. Verona was also as close and the opera was spectacular. The owners are so helpful and accommodating with lots of local advise and recommendations. This was such an amazing holiday I would go back in a heartbeat!

What a privilege

What a privilege to stay in such a beautiful, historic house - it really is as grand and impressive as it looks in the pictures. Drinks in the evening sun in the loggia were a special pleasure. We went to visit the Villa Rotonda in Vicenza, which is of course stunning - but La Serenella is very nearly as beautiful on the outside (and a lot nicer on the inside!) The main first floor has a series of grand reception rooms with original painted wooden ceilings (two of which are now the principal bedrooms) and downstairs there is a well-equipped kitchen with a traditional feel. The configuration of beds and bathrooms was a little tricky for our party of 9 adults and one teenager (including the single room only being accessible either through the triple room or through a shared bathroom!) but Giada was very accommodating with our requests to move beds around to make things easier. And anyway, in such a beautiful house we didn't mind the odd compromise. We had not realised from the pictures that the pool is above ground; we would have preferred to be able to sit round the pool at ground level and watch the fun, but it didn't matter too much. We agree restoring the tennis court would be an excellent addition, though in fact two of our party did manage a slightly eccentric knock-up on the court. We didn't get to the dai Butei pizzeria as it is only open in the evenings but it looked nice. We went twice to the Locanda del Nane near the church and very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Being within walking distance of the village was a great advantage - yet in the garden of the house you can feel you are in the country with views to the hills and vineyards. But by far the best thing was staying in such architectural splendour - an exceptional and memorable house. Thank you.

Somewhere you would dream of....

We have just returned from an amazing Italian holiday, the second week of which was spent here. What an experience! The photographs did not disappoint, in fact they need more to show it in its full glory. The approach to the villa is not what you would expect, through a private housing area, but the moment you enter through the electric gates and look up the sweeping driveway, you are immediately transported to another time, another place, far from normal life. I couldn't help but imagine all that has gone on throughout the villa's history as so much of its original character and authenticity has been retained. It was truly a week of pinching ourselves to check if we were really living there. We were met by two wonderful ladies with coffee and iced tea under the canopy and a very extensive tour of the villa and the surrounding town, showing us where to shop. Also, excellent advice on places to visit such as an amazing thermal lake set in beautiful grounds and also a beautiful beach/taverna at Punta San Vigilio (both incredible places that will live long in the memory.) The pool is lovely, set in beautiful gardens beside a disused tennis court. (This would be a real asset if it was restored!) The children had great fun in it and it was well maintained. Swimming there early in the morning as the church bells rang, the rooster crowed and the crickets took up their never ending chorus will stay with me for a long time. The 2 main bedrooms are palatial, very comfy beds, and the other 3 are more than adequate with a new shower on the top floor. Only having one stand up shower was a slight drawback for two families sharing but there are shower attachments in the two baths so it was fine. The kitchen retains all of the old charm and quirkiness of days gone by and is beautifully cool to work in but it could do with some slight modernisation in keeping with the old style. Providing coffee pods for the machine would be great as they're only available online. There is an excellent cooker, BBQ, fridge, washing machine and microwave and plenty of cups, glasses and plates. We had a wonderful meal on our last evening cooked for us by a chef and the owner had chosen some beautiful wines for us and a bottle of the local Limoncello to finish with. She could not have been more attentive and helpful and really worked hard to make sure that we had a wonderful stay. The location is fabulous as it is so handy to both Verona and Lake Garda with so much to do and see - a real find!

Review of La Serenella

We found the villa to be a delighful base to explore the Veneto region. It was close to Verona and all the attractions of Lake Garda and within travelling distance of Venice. The villa enjoys a very peaceful setting and the clean, new pool was great for relaxing and cooling off. The villa was clean and the beds were the comfiest I have ever slept in! Our hosts were delightful and extremely helpful in recommending local restaurants and arranging a tour of a local vineyard. I would not hesitate to recommned this property to a friend and would love to return there myself.

Wonderful Stay at a Beautiful Italian Villa

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful holiday house in San Pietro in Cariano . The property exceeded all our expectations! It was clean, spacious, and filled with charming Italian touches that made it feel so authentic. The views from the house were breathtaking, and we especially loved spending time on the terrace, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The amenities were excellent—everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bedrooms were cozy, and the outdoor area with the pool was perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The location was ideal, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants, yet it still felt wonderfully secluded. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and responsive, always ready to assist us with any questions we had. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Italy. We will definitely be back!

A walk back in time

This property is beautiful. The host is amazing and helps with anything you need such as dinner recommendations and suggestions as well as reservations. You definitely need a car for this property and just a note that it is shared with the other part of the villa. Unfortunately we had noisy neighbours who were not respectful of others and stayed up partying until the early hours of the night ( not the hosts fault) but we did want to let you know in case you thought you were getting the whole villa as we had.

Beautiful old venerable villa.

We were 9 adults and had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful, time-honoured villa which we all enjoyed very much. We cooked together in the spacious kitchen where everything you need is there, and we had barbecues outside. the pool was cleaned several times, was well tempered and is beautifully situated in the huge garden. Everything was perfect and all our wishes and expectations were more than fulfilled. It was an unforgettable experience and a super holiday.

Outstanding location for great time with family and friends

We booked the villa for a family ceremony and it was one of our best experiences we ever had. The villa is indeed old-fashioned (16th century) and decorated with love and style. The owner was super helpful with any request we had before and during our stay. We really can recommend the catering & especially the great dinner with chef Susi, a recommendation of the location’s owner. Thousand thanks to Eleonora, Constantino, Susi, Mattheo, Umberto and all lovely people who made our celebration so wonderful! Hint: be careful when opening the inner yard steel door next to the street, it can be unstable due to the age.

A Magical Family Vacation

We rented La Serenella West Wing from the end of June to the third week in July for a 3 week sojourn with our 5 grown children, 2 of their spouses and 4 young grandchildren. I started each day with a run through the 3 adjacent wineries and ended each night walking the same route with my family. We rented a bus and driver for day trips and overnights. Padova, Vicenza, Mantova, Verona and Lago di Garda’s many beautiful lakeside villages are all within an easy driving distance. Our farthest trips were Lago di Como (Garda is more beautiful) and Venice (both were overnights). The 3 week stay was magical. La Serenella is incredibly well located, the conveniences with in walking distance are plentiful. One can also walk to at least 3 incredible wineries, Brunelli, Montecariano and Buglioni. The villa, as noted, is split in to two wings that are rented and owned separately. We rarely had issues with noise(1 or 2 of 21 nights). The owner and manager are lovely. To stay in a villa designed and built by Palladio is an incredible privilege. We couldn’t have had a better experience. These villas are not luxury properties, they are experiential properties. La Serenella is a great value and a wonderful way to spend a summer. While we don’t own it, we consider it partially ours as the time there will always remain in our hearts.

Great time with the family!

We really had a great week with the family. Everything has been as promised. The owner, Eleonora, Mr. Cardini - in fact everyone involved has been very supportive also with non-standard requests from our side ;-) Thanks again! The Villa, its garden and pool are beautiful. The town of San Pietro in Cariano and the landscape around is definitely worth seeing it and Verona is just a short drive away. We'll surely consider the Villa Serenella West Wing for a future stay!
