This is a beautifully designed modern villa set in the award winning Alma Verde Village. This villa has been equipped to the highest standards, creating very comfortable and easy living space. The owner's have taken extra care to kit the villa out with all the comforts of a 'home from home' which makes this a significantly more comfortable villa to stay in than others. This semi-detached villa has a fully fitted kitchen/dining room, a lounge, 3 bedrooms/3 bathrooms and comfortably sleeps 6. All bedrooms have built in wardrobes. The rear garden provides outside private space for dining/BBQ, a private pool and manicured garden. The villa is just 5 mins drive from the beach of the picturesque fishing village of Burgau. Also close to stunning beaches of the South Coast and the Atlantic Coast. The vibrant marina/town of Lagos is 15 mins away and the historical towns of Sagres, Silves and Monchique are all a short drive away. More than 20 golf courses are within one hours drive.

Fantastic quiet base to explore Western Algarve

Really comfortable villa in quiet complex with decent pool and good facilities. Perfect base from which to explore Lagos and Sagres and you have Salema and Bergau just 5 minutes drive away which are beautiful beach villages

Fabulous villa

We had a great time here - the villa is spacious, the pool fabulous and the garden space offered shade and sun when needed. Neighbours around but it was generally a peaceful area. The teens made use of tennis courts on site and local driving range a couple of km away. Burgau just over 3 Km down the road is a lovely old fishing village which now has a handful of nice restaurants and bars, pretty streets leading to a nice beach. Lagos is 15 minutes drive - great place to visit and a little livelier in the evenings. We enjoyed being away from the crowds in this quieter area and just had to get out to local supermarket in mornings for bread and pastries. A car is absolutely necessary.

Lovely spacious villa

We had a lovely 10 days in this villa. This was the second time we had stayed at Alma Verde village the last 6 years ago. The location was great for us. You do need a car though. Would recommend getting from a firm that operates out of the airport. Suzannah was a great host responding very quickly to questions. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Villa

We stayed in Susannahs property for 10 days just recently. The villa is bigger than the photos show. Beautiful inside and out. Has everything you need for a good holiday. Welcome pack is fantastic and the heating of the pool is well worth the extra payment. Its a beautiful pool well kept gardens with lots of shade as it was very warm when we were there. We had a few issues which susannah was quick to respond too as were the management office. There is building work going on around the property but i think the work on the property to the right will be nearly finished. The trees do shade the garden as the sun is a bit lower at this time of year, we only got full sun in the back garden for 4 hours so we used the driveway to sunbathe as it got the sun most of the day. You do need a car to get around for shopping, restaurants etc. But you can walk around the estate if you like a daily walk. I would recommend Susannahs villa well worth the money we paid for it.

WELL EQUIPPED VILLA

Spacious modern Villa only 5 minutes drive from the lovely fishing village and beach of Burgau with plenty of good eateries. It was easy to find the Villa using the instructions given and the large welcome pack on arrival was lovely and very much appreciated. The beds were comfy and plenty of towels available. We didn’t pay to have the pool heated and found it was warm enough without it. There are two large Supermarkets nearby (Lidl and Intermarche ) for all your needs however you will definitely need a car. We would have liked to say the area where the Villa is positioned was lovely and quiet however while we were there the neighbours on either side were carrying out refurbishment works and were noisy throughout the whole of our 2 week stay which spoiled our enjoyment of it which was such a shame.

Short break at short notice

The property was exactly as described and in a spotless condition. It was very well equipped and delightfully furnished. My thanks to Susannah for sorting out the minor booking hitch with the website before we left. The welcome pack was very useful, and provided the basics for several days. The pool heating needs time to warm up, but the end result was fine. The only downside is that the house is overlooked by the adjoining properties into the rear garden and pool, we looked at this when booking and it didn’t bother us as we were out much of the day. The instructions to get to the property and the use of the key safe and alarm system were impeccable. We would happily return.

Beautiful getaway

This was our second time at the villa and it didn't disappoint. The villa is in a quiet corner of the Alma Verde complex. The facilities are without fault, everything you could need for a self catering stay, or don't worry about cooking and go to one of the local restaurants. Our favourites in Burgau are the Beach Bar and Esquina- both excellent. In Salema, Boia and Aqua na Boca for more formal dining but for a quick and extremely tasty pizza, try Casa Pizza in Salema. The villa is ideally placed to explore the local area, surfing, coastal walks and visits to local towns, Lagos for shopping and a trip to the market at Aljezur for local produce. The villa is spacious and spotlessly clean, with it's own pool. The trees around the garden now provide the right amount of shade while leaving plenty of space for sunbathing. We cant wait to come back.

3rd stay at Vila do Bispo and just love the place

Third successive year staying at Susannah's property on Alma Verde and absolutely loved our stay (again). First time ever we've decided to return to a property and there's numerous factors that make it a wise choice. The location is great. The property itself is outstanding. 2 children love the pool and the local playground which is a 5 minute walk away. The kitchen is fully equipped so no frustrating runs to the supermarket for accessories. The property is part of a block of four similar homes. It's hit or miss whether your stay is quiet or a struggle dealing with loud neighbours. We, unfortunately, had a few nights of dealing with parties until 2am in the morning (2 properties booked by the same group)... just gives you a good reason to have a doze on the sunloungers in the morning. The welcome pack is a fantastic addition. Enough for breakfast, snacks and a couple of beers too for good measure :) The property is ultra clean. Really can't rate the property highly enough. Sure we'll be back again next year :)

Excellent villa

I have nothing but positives to say about this villa. It was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The kitchen is modern, spacious and contains all of the utensils and appliances that you might need. The pool is lovely as is the garden and grassed area. The bedrooms are spacious with comfy beds and pillows. All en suites were clean and well appointed. There is also a large private driveway to keep your hire car (that is essential as nothing much within walking distance). The welcome pack was much appreciated. This is the perfect location for a relaxing, secluded and peaceful holiday.

Amazing Almaverde

The villa was so good! All of the rooms were larger than I was expecting we were five adults and had plenty of space. The property is modern, clean and was very well equipped for example the kitchen. The food provided on arrival was thoughtful and welcome The swimming pool was heated and was excellent. The arrangements made with Susannah were prompt and straight forward. The villa is in a great location away from large crowds and there is at least twenty beaches within thirty minutes drive on both the West and South coasts. This villa provides a relaxing luxury holiday home.

Superb!

We found the villa by chance on the website. We were looking for somewhere quiet, away from the tourist areas with good beaches - and we found it. The villa is absolutely superb - nothing is missed. The welcome pack is generous so if you arrive late at night as we did, you've got a welcome beer and glass of cold wine waiting for you as well as sufficient for a generous breakfast, as well as fresh fruit and snacks. The villa is very well equipped and immaculately clean. The pool is big enough for a good swim to cool down but well worth paying the additional fee to have it heated. The complex the villa is on is beautifully maintained, as are the gardens of the villa itself (and the pool maintenance man came on Friday too). We had a couple of issues while we were there. A burst main water pipe meaning we had no water one day, but this wasn't anyone's fault and the reception staff were extremely helpful and kept us informed. Then the boiler broke down another day so we had no hot water, but, when we reported this to reception, they sorted it straight away and the boiler was fixed the same day. The villa is ideally suited to explore Lagos to Sagres as it's half way between the two. You definitely need a car to stay here. We found some beautiful beaches locally Martinhau, Salema and Cabanas in particular. There are some great places to eat - The Spice Village in Burgau and the Burgau Beach Bar were excellent. We were very disappointed with the Ancora Restaurant in Burgau - overpriced and food not good. The best restaurant by far we found was the Aqua Na Boca in Salema - absolutely superb. Our only slight negative is that the garden was in shade a lot of the day as it's surrounded by trees. We found we were chasing a small patch of sunshine around with the sunloungers. Having said that, we would not hesitate to return to the villa - it was everything we were looking for.

Lovely villa, great spot for exploring!

The villa is very comfortable and well equipped and our 2 children (10 & 12) loved having the pool to play in, in between our trips out! The welcome pack was brilliant as we arrived very late on our first night. The position is great between Lagos and Sagres giving the opportunity for lots of different adventures to keep the kids entertained - paddle boarding, kayaking, surf lessons, horse riding and water parks. The villa is also in easy reach of the many beaches along the South and West coast. All in all and very enjoyable and relaxing holiday!

Lovely villa and pool in quiet setting

We hired this villa for our first holiday in Portugal and had a wonderful time. Family of 4 (2 sons age 4yrs and 7yrs) Coming in April we knew the temperatures wouldn't be scorching but we were surprised and had lovely hot sunny days and the shaded pool was a plus for us. No worrying about the boys getting sunburnt and having to coat them suncream all the time. Pool was great and paying the extra for the heating is a must for little ones. We chose the villa because of the heated pool. The villa is well equipped (great to have lots of kitchen utensils!) and feels very homely and cared for. The selection of pool toys (loungers, weighted rings for diving etc) and beach items (umbrellas, body boards, games and buckets and spades) was fab for the children. The selection of books for the grown-ups was appreciated as well. It's nicest villa we have stayed in. Well positioned for exploring the Western Algarve, all its beaches and exploring the hills inland. A car is a must as the villa is on the Alma Verde residence so you need to drive to shops and restaurants. We always hire a car and so this was expected and not an issue for us. Closet village is Burgau which has lovely restaurants and beach. From finding the villa online, making the booking with Susannah, getting directions from the airport (better than our route planner!) and the fab welcome pack. Everything was easy and ran smoothly. Will recommend to family and friends.

Lovely villa on quiet site

We spent a week at this lovely villa with my parents and had a really great time. We choose the villa because it is on the Alma Verde site, we had visited the site last year with friends and were impressed with how quiet it was and only 5-10 minutes away from quaint Burgau. Right from the word go Suzanne answered all my inquiries promptly and her instructions and directions were spot on. We arrived late on the Saturday night, courtesy of Easy Jet problems and the up grades going on in Faro airport, to find the villa so clean and welcoming. Suzanne had provided a welcome pack which was amazing and really thoughtful. The villa has plenty of space for 6 people so for the four of us it was really good, Mum and Dad downstairs with their own en-suite and no stars to negotiate and us upstairs with en-suite and balcony. Mum was especially pleased that she could watch BBC TV!!! We spent most of the week enjoying the garden which some people have said is shady, this is a bonus when it is hot (30 plus most days we were there) reading, eating and relaxing. If you want full sun you can sit on one of the two balconies. We did have a problem with the pool heating but the management team on the site were quick to attend. Burgau is a lovely little village with lots of nice restaurants and a great bar serving the most amazing G&T's! Lagos is the main town and is easily reached in 20 minutes. We ventured up into the mountains one day which we would highly recommend for the drive and the views. The week went far too quickly but we all had a lovely holiday and hope that we will be able to return to this part of the Algarve again next year and if we can we would definitely book this villa again. Well equipped, ideal family location

A very well equipped villa with a lovely pool and garden - ideal for relaxing, as well as visiting a number of Algarve attractions. The villa is spacious, cool and has the mod cons that make it a home from home - a fully fitted kitchen, decent size fridge/freezer and wifi. It was spotlessly clean upon arrival and the welcome food package was much appreciated after a late night arrival. The pool is the absolute gem to this place - we all enjoyed it with the children not wanting to get out - the bonus of having access to it from the living room, hall and dining area means that you are able to keep an eye from wherever you are. We did have to speak with the management company who were helpful and able to assist very quickly. Making the booking was very straightforward - I would recommend this villa.

Wonderful Villa - home from home

Lovely villa, everything you would need and more. We wanted a quiet peaceful holiday and that's exactly what we had. Villa was very spacious and spotlessly clean, it had such a lovely feel about it as soon as you opened the door. We had loads of fun in the pool and very pleased we paid the extra for it to be heated, made all the difference. We needed to make contact with the management agents at the village whilst there and they were very helpful and quick to respond. Welcome food pack arrived just at the right time too with lots of useful and tasty things included. We would definitely return in the future, thanks Susannah for all your help, you have a lovely villa - home from home but with lovely sunshine too!

Wonderful time

Excellent accommodation in a wonderful location. Everything you require from a holiday villa and more. The welcome pack was very much appreciated since we arrived on a late flight. Very handy to several good beaches. We certainly recommend this as a villa holiday in a superb location.

We enjoy travelling and have holidayed in many places, but Portugal, where we now own our villa, has been a favourite place of ours for many years. Buying our holiday villa/home has been a dream of ours for a long time. We have taken the time and trouble to kit our villa out with everything we would want for a very comfortable holiday, like a home from home and we pride ourselves on providing this for other people who use our villa/home as well.

Why they chose this property

We love this part of Portugal and have visited the Western Algarve over the years many times. Although we have seen a great change during this time, the Western Algarve remains relatively unspoilt and because of the conservation areas, this will remain. It provides a 'slowed down pace' for a relaxing and 'chilled' holiday. There are wonderful beaches that cater for all age groups. There is a variety of sport - water sport, golf courses, walking, birdwatching, horse riding etc. The local villages are picturesque. Lagos is the local vibrant town, with a marina, that offers a great family atmosphere, again for all ages and has a wonderful selection of bars, restaurants and shops. The beaches also have great beach bars for casual eating. This is all only a 1 hour drive from the airport.

What makes this property unique

This property is part of the AlmaVerde Village which is near Lagos, Sagres, Burgau and all the local beaches. We have made our villa just that little extra special. We have provided a well stocked villa with all those extra comforts of home. The artwork we have on the walls really adds to the homely feel and the level of comfort in this villa is far more superior than others on the development. With our own pool and secluded garden this is a great holiday rental. AlmaVerde Village, although still to be fully developed/completed, is already a well known holiday destination. AlmaVerde prides itself on being 'green' with lots of vegetation and well manicured gardens to please the eye. The villas are also built with energy saving materials and structures. Book now!
