The self contained gite in the quiet hamlet of Ouismes, is situated within the pretty village of Crezieres, a "Village Fleurie' (before January 2019 one of the smallest communes in France with only 47 in habitants). It is a 10 minute drive /5km to Chef Boutonne where there are 2 supermarkets, several restaurants and bars, banks and other small shops, including 2 bakers. The weekly market is held on Saturday in the main square.

Didn't want to leave

Idyllic setting in a tiny village surrounded by farmland. Plenty of walks with very little traffic to worry about. Small town nearby with a couple of restaurants and a supermarket. Historic town of Cognac under an hour away with plenty of shops and bars. The property itself is superb. Very well kitted out with everything that you could possibly need. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect place for a bit of quiet time and a place to relax. Heated pool and a games room with snooker table table-tennis, books and games This place really does have everything including high speed internet Large private garden, absolutely perfect for the dog; Then there is the jewel in the crown which is the lovely hosts living next door Amanda & Robin have been doing this for over a decade and do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. We had car trouble and Amanda fixed us up with a local mechanic and drove us into town whilst our vehicle was being fixed. The only thing that we did wrong was to book for a week when we would have liked to stay for a fortnight at least.

Well equipped property for self catering holiday. Short drive from local supermarket. Ideal for couples wanting to relax and chill. ?Pine martins in dry lining of walls at night were quite noisy on occasions and this was reported to owners. Noise abated somewhat by using supplied fan and plug in deterrent. Regular contact with host, who was on hand if needed. Photos on website out of date as gardens not as well kept as in photos.

Perfect!

We enjoyed a brilliant holiday staying at "La Petite Maison". The house is beautiful, with plenty of room and storage for us (and our dog) with everything you need, as well as plenty of space outside with a large covered area and a secure garden. The rural location is fantastic, quiet and surrounded by nature, great for walking, but also just a short drive to amenities, markets, villages and cities. Thank you Amanda and Robin - wonderful hosts and wonderful people. We would strongly recommend "La Petite Maison" for a relaxing and tranquil holiday and very much look forward to visiting again!

Great Half Term Stay

The property is in a pretty hamlet - very close to Chef Boutonne for all amenities, butcher, banks, bakers, supermarket, restaurants and shops. Amanda & Robin were most helpful. The property is immaculate, spacious for a couple and full of character.

OUR STAY

An absolutely beautiful location and property. Amanda and Robin made us feel very welcome. I do however have one small criticism and that is that we were only allowed to use the pool and its seating area until 5 pm. We were " clock watching " to ensure that we did not break the rule. I do not recall if this rule was stated in the description of the property. It may seem petty, however, this is the first time in over 20 years visiting France that we were subject to a pool time limit!

Lovely stay

Very nice house, in a small village about 5 mins drive from Chef Boutonne. Very quiet area so easy to walk our dog, with a secure front garden. Well equipped and Amanda and Robin were very welcoming hosts. Loved the swimming pool, especially as it was sooo hot!

Tranquil haven in the Countryside

Le Petit Maison is a delight! Perfect for an undisturbed get away. The hosts are wonderful and welcoming and the use of their pool was a welcome bonus as the weather was gloriously warm and sunny. The sound of birdsong and frogs in the pond were literally all the noise that there was and the nearest town was a short drive away for amenities. The house has a small kitchen area and lounge wuth an upstairs mezzanine bedroom and shower room and has its own seperate grounds which include a hangar which has lighting, a barbecue and outdoor furniture in.I would most definitely reccomend a stay at Le Petit Maison, and we plan to return for a visit in the future!

A great gite in a peaceful setting

This was a lovely little gite to stay in for a week of chilling, having bbq's, and playing lots of table tennis. The garden is enclosed with a lovely swing chair in the side house where we also made use of the bikes. Amanda and Robin were excellent hosts and always helpful with their local knowledge (and lovely aubergines). The area is beautiful with fields of sunflowers and many local markets to visit. There are hardly any cars on the roads so it's a very peaceful place to spend a week. Many thanks Amanda and Robin.

Clean inviting and friendly. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived.

Well positioned suntrap of a gite. Excellent lounging capability on the well kept lawn all day. Amanda and Robin are a font of knowledge for the area and they always have time for you. The gite is cosy and friendly with all the facilities needed and expected for a short or a long stay. We were very sad when our last day quickly rolled up and we had to leave. We will most definitely be back as we feel we now have two very wise friends.

Perfect Getaway

This gite is beautiful. My partner and I decided to have one big holiday before the birth of our first baby boy in October and chose this gite due to it being in a small village and close to amenities. The pool was great; I beat my partner at ping pong and enjoyed time in the sun. BBQ, beautiful garden and a perfect gite. Thank you, Amanda, for a wonderful stay! Hope to see you again!

Beautiful, peaceful place.

This little place was perfect for us. Beautifully kept house, pool and gardens in a very quiet location, secluded but really not too far from town for access to supermarkets, restaurants and so on. First time we had been to this area and we found there was a lot to explore locally, and bigger towns and cities about an hour away. We travelled a bit, but we were very happy to spend most of our time in and around the house. Robin and Amanda were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would certainly like to go back here again, hopefully to stay longer next time.

Great time at Le Petite Maison

Myself and my partner and our dog Badger had a fantastic time, the hospilality from Amanda and Robin was second to none and we loved the area. Plenty of fantastic villages and towns to visit and it was so peaceful,we will return in the future.

The "Cosy, pet friendly cottage for 2" was all it said, both cosy and pet friendly.

We really enjoyed our relaxing stay as did Tapas our dog in the lovely enclosed garden. The cottage is beautiful and very well set out and the benefit of the log burner was ideal for cooler evenings. Amanda and Robin were great hosts and really helpful with lots of information for us as we were looking at this area for property. Amanda e-mailed directions for us to easily find the cottage, brilliant. The area is calm and relaxing and everything you need for your stay is only minutes away in Chef Boutonne. They are a really lovely and welcoming couple and we look forward to seeing them again. Carl, Carol & Tapas x

Heavenly

This was our second visit to Le Petite Maison. Our first was 5 years ago and we have had lots of lovely holidays in-between. However this is the one and only venue that we have ever returned to. We love the peace and quiet here, the house is perfect for 2 and Amanda and Robin and the best hosts you could wish for. So friendly, helpful and accommodating. The cottage itself is clean, well aired and has everything you need. The kitchen also has basic larder items so you don't have to go out and spend a fortune buying everything that you only use a small fraction of during your stay. The pool area is clean, pretty, private and quiet. We occasionally bumped into Amanda cleaning the pool just as we arrived to use it. Amanda and Robin also told us about the village Hunters Lunch via email before we arrived and suggested they could reserve us tickets. This event happens once a year I believe and we were lucky enough to be there for it....what a treat. A truly French experience where they didn't scrimp on the pinot either...hic!! Apparently we were seen by neighbours bouncing off the hedges on our way back to the house at 7.30pm in the evening. I cant thank Amanda and Robin enough for a truly amazing stay. We will return.
