Unwind and relax at this charming Provencal home within walking distance of the pretty medieval village of Sillans-la-Cascade and on the edge of the Verdon National Park.

This idyllic detached villa is perfect for a quiet family holiday around the pool or as a base from which to explore the villages of the Haut-Var and the beaches of the Cote D'Azur. The spectacular Gorges Du Verdon and Lac St-Croix lie 45 mins by car; Saint Tropez and Sainte Maxime are 1 hour away; Marseille and Nice are within 90 mins. Local amenities include daily Provencal markets, tennis, horse-riding, golf, excellent trekking trails and water-sports at the Lac St-Croix. The house benefits from recently installed air conditioning to all bedrooms and living area. The 4 bedrooms (3 double, 1 twin) all have ensuite facilities - the 2 ground-floor bedrooms having bathrooms, the upstairs bedrooms have shower-rooms. There is a generous lounge with dining area and open fireplace, whilst outside there is a tiled patio overlooking the pool, ideal for outdoor dining or barbeques, whilst the private pool lies at the heart of the lawned, level, enclosed garden. Everything was as described,. this house is in a great location and is just a short walk from the village, its just what we needed, very clean, tidy and spacious and had everything there that we needed.Although the house is fully fitted with a new heating system, we also made the most of the open fire and spent a couple of cosy evening in.The communication with the owners was more than helpful and very informative and friendly.We will definitely return to this property maybe in the summer and look forward to trying out their new aircon and the use of the swimming pool.just perfect, thank you!

Perfect location for some good cycling

We stayed for a week to do some cyclin g across Provence. The house was perfect for us. It was roomy and clean, the owner was very helpful, and the property manager quick to respond and they both had some good suggestions for us. The house feels like a home away from home, welcoming and homely. The village was wonderful, with a waterfall in it (hence the name of the village) which was beautiful and felt like a little gem that had been tucked away. The boulangeri in the village was lovely, and open most mornings. The supermarkets are within easy reach, and there are some really good cycling opportunities. We cycled around Lac de St Croix, and the Canyon du Verdon as well as heading towards Aix and having a day checking out the surrounding villages. Contignac and Barjols is really worth a visit, as is the village at the top of Lac de St Croix. I will be checking if this house is free next time we go as it will be my first choice.

An amazing house in a beautiful and relaxing location.

We’ve just returned from a week here. From the moment we arrived and smelt the beautiful lavender in the front garden, we started to relax and unwind. The maintenance staff here are very good and the house was spotlessly clean and clearly well looked after. Anything you could hope for equipment wise is here too, which made it so easy to just enjoy our well yearned for break. Each bedroom has an amazing en-suite and the rooms are all a good size and comfortable. The pool was perfect for us and warm enough to enjoy on a very regular basis! The living and dining area wsee really comfortable with plenty of space to both eat and unwind at the end of the day. The tv has some English channels and we also enjoyed a DVD player. In the background you could hear the church bells which again added to the calming and happy ambience. Communication with the owner Stephen was great throughout. I would highly recommend this property. We were a family of mum and two children (9+19) plus Uncle. It worked for us, but would also work for larger families or maybe groups of friends. There are lots of beautiful locations and restaurants in driving distance and the local waterfall is worth the walk. Thanks to the Cox family for sharing this house with us. Sarah and family.

Peaceful house in a beautiful location.

We spent a lovely week here in April and were blessed with better than average weather for the time of year. The house is very well equipped with good quality appliances and furnishings, a real home from home. The bed we slept in was the most comfortable I have ever used in over 12 years of holidays in France. Each of the four bedrooms has an en suite toilet and bathroom too. We used the wifi and it was very good when it worked. The router had minor conection problems but this was with the outside network which was apparently playing up for a few days, after this initial hiccup it worked fine. The raised patio surrounds half of the house so you can chase the sun arround for the best part of the day and there is a lovely eating area outside under the canopy. The living room is very airy and bright with two sets of doors leading straight out onto the patio. This was our first holiday in the Provence region (we normally go to the Languedoc & Pyrenees) and we found the surrounding countryside very peaceful and beautiful and local people were friendly. Everywhere is a drive away though, with a limited amount to see and do in the immediate area. This was not a problem though as the drives are full of lovely things to take in as well. We had our dog with us and spent the majority of our time in various parts of the Verdon Gorges. It is a must see place with plenty there to see and do and is breathtakingly beautiful. Try the pedalos, great fun and pooches were made welcome here. We found the coast not very dog friendly so didn't come back after our initial visit. So why 4* and not 5? I try not to give reviews in the rose tinted afterglow of a holiday to keep things in perspective. The house is beautiful, comfortable and in a lovely location, however there were a few very minor maintenance issues which prevents 5*. Please note though that I am being very picky. The question is, would I return? Absolutely, in a heartbeat!

A great place in a lovely part of the country

We, 7 members, three generations, ages 18 months to 66 years stayed in this villa for 7 days recently. We had a fantastic holiday. There was everything that we needed. The place was clean, well equipped, spacious and airy. Beautiful waterfall in the village nearby. Lovely markets in the small villages and towns nearby. Central for travel to Monaco, Nice, Saint Tropez and Cannes. The swimming pool, bat and ball, boules, cards kept us all entertained when not traveling. We hope to go there again!

Lovely house and pool in perfect location

For the last two years, we have spent two weeks at this welcoming house. We loved being in such a quiet location with the only noise being the birds and the cicadas! The house has everything we need – and we appreciated each bedroom having their own bathroom. The gardens and the heated pool are wonderful especially on a hot sunny day – and there were plenty of those! There are walks for when it is not too hot including various walks to the Cascade in Sillans-la-Cascade. The boulangerie is a short walk and sells not only bread, croissants, pain-de-chocolat etc but also delicious whirly-gig ice creams! The Epicerie in the village doubles as a bar. There are numerous places to visit including the Gorges du Verdon and its villages and the coast is not too far away either. This house is perfect for our family holiday – and really feels like a home away from home. So good – we have already booked for next year! Highly recommended....

Great House with lovely pool

We had a lovely holiday with scorching temperatures, so the pool is a super asset with space for 81/2 (the 1/2 a 2 year old) of us. The house is very well proportioned, so at no time did it feel crowded, with plenty of space in the living room and the two terraces wich were all well furnished and the grill was used regularly. The kitchen is large and well stocked with everything you could wish for. The house is a home and this is apparent in a very positive way, and we felt very comfortable there - the bigger children loved having a tv and DVDs in their bedroom! There is a really good restaurant in the village, the Hotel et Restaurant les Pins where we had a superb meal. The cascade is absolutely worth a walk and if you take the path through the village, there is an area where you can swim.

Very nice villa in lovely area

The villa was very spacious, comfortable, clean and tidy with everything you needed (and more) and was situated in a lovely area within walking distance to the village. On arrival, the first thing that hit us was the glorious smells coming from the plants in the garden which is delightful to sit in. There are lots of nice walks around the village although it took us a couple of attempts to find the Cascade which is well worth a look at. You definitely need a car to see some of the surrounding places that are also well worth a visit. Cotignac was really nice and the medieval ruins a must to see. Thank you to the owners for sharing their lovely holiday home with us. It was a very enjoyable holiday despite the 3 days of rain which didn't spoil it.

we had a fantastic stay in this lovely house. Furnishings, equipment etc. were excellent. Local village had everything we needed, enjoyed fabulous day trips to Gorges de Verdon, Lac St Croix and Monaco. We also had a great day on beach at Frejus. Would definitely return.

Tolles Haus in der Povence

Wir haben eine Woche in dem Haus verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht, das Wohnzimmer ist groß und gemütlich und die Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer bieten viel Platz und sind sauber. Der Pool und die Terrassen sind großzügig. Alles perfekt um seine Freizeit zu genießen.

Tolle Auszeit in schöner Umgebung

Das Haus ist genau wie beschrieben. Es handelt sich um das auch von den Eigentümern selbst genutzte Haus, was man an der Innenaustattung merkt und wir angenehm fanden. Der Kontakt mit den Eigentümern (schriftlich und telefonisch) war sehr angenehm und unkompliziert. Sollten wir nochmal in die Gegend fahren wollen, werden wir sicherlich wieder vorbeischauen.

Great holiday in beautiful area

The house, garden and pool were all very lovely. We were two families, eight people in total, and there was plenty of space for all of us. Each of the bedrooms had its own bathroom which was very nice especially when travelling with teens. Due to the warm weather, we enjoyed the outside very much, especially the pool was a big hit for both teenagers and adults. The pool was approx. 1,9 meter in the deep end and around 28-29 degrees Celsius which was perfect for us. There are many possibilities to explore Provence from Sillans-la-Cascade, several lovely villages. We especially enjoyed our trips to Aups, Tourtour and Lorgues. We went to Lac Sainte-Croix several times, where we among other things rented boats. Communicating with Steven and Maria was extremely easy, we appreciated the advice they gave us both before and after we arrived.

Urgemütliches Haus in bester Lage

Wir haben die Herbstferien 2021 in diesem sehr schönen und gemütlichen Haus verbracht und sehr genossen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter sowie dem Verwalter vor Ort war sehr angenehm und völlig unkompliziert. Der Verwalter hat uns auch sehr schnell und effektiv mit zwei Problemen geholfen. Das Haus selbst ist sehr geräumig und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Einrichtung ist teilweise etwas altmodisch, hat dadurch aber auch individuellen Charme. Die Zimmer sind gut geschnitten und verfügen über komfortable Betten, was uns persönlich sehr wichtig ist. Das umgebende Grundstück ist sehr gepflegt und der Garten ist überwiegend mit einer dichten Hecke umgeben, so dass man seine Ruhe hat und sich nicht ständig beobachtet zu fühlen braucht. Der Pool wurde vor unserer Ankunft und dann noch 2x während des Aufenthaltes gerenigt, so dass er durchgehend super sauber war. Alles in allem ist das Haus gerade für Familien sehr empfehlenswert.

Parfait

Nous avons séjourné une semaine avec notre fils de 5ans. La maison était d'une propreté irréprochable ! Pas de poussière, draps, micro-onde, frigo,... Tout était très propre. L'emplacement était parfait, accès a pieds à la cascade de Sillans, aux restaurants également. Les charmants propriétaires nous ont envoyé un petit texte avec les jours de marchés, les lieux à visiter, etc. Nous avons adoré ce séjour du début à la fin. Notre fils se souviendra certainement des vacances à Sillans! On n'a qu'une envie, y retourner! :-)

très bon séjour

Cela s'est bien passé. Très confortable avec 1 salle de bain dans chaque chambre, on ne peut pas espérer mieux. Les draps et le linge a ne pas emporter, c'était un plus. La piscine très agréable quoique le temps ne nous a pas permis d'en profiter davantage.

We bought the house from a Marseilles couple in April 1998 and have spent wonderful holidays there at all times of the year. We've slowly worked on the house (not ourselves, home DIY is not our speciality) to bring it to its present condition. We are both winding down from full time medical practice and one of our goals is to spend more time with our children and grandchildren so it is very much a second home for us as well as a lovely holiday villa.

Ideally situated between sea and mountains, not as busy as the coast but with beautiful walks, a lovely waterfall and the Gorges du Verdon and Lac de St.Croix half an hour away. Surrounded by pretty medieval villages and daily local Provencal markets.
