We had a very enjoyable stay at the Talisker Lodge. We stayed over the Christmas holiday. It felt so cosy… we enjoyed the log burner & loved how it was located in the woods. We saw lots of woodland wildlife inc a red squirrel & woodpeckers. The property encourages you to feed the wildlife. We arrived to a bucket of nuts & a bag of fat balls. We went out to buy more fatballs as the birds soon got through them. We really enjoyed watching all the birds & the squirrel that came. We’d love to return to this property in the future. It’s well equipped in the kitchen… all home comforts. There’s even a couple of dog bowls for use if you stay with your dog/s like we did. Towels are supplied & a hairdryer. There’s a travel cot & high chair as well. Many thanks to Angus for his quick response to any questions we had. We were made to feel very welcome. A big thumbs up to this property!
The property was excellent. Everything needed for a comfortable stay with 2 kids and a dog. Lovely outlook of the forest at the back and a short distance into the town. 15 min drive up to the ski centre where we did some walking. Also drove to the bike trails at Laggan. Great stay thanks.
The cottage is in a great location. Lots of woodland walks in the Rothiemuchus estate on the doorstep. The garden was lovely with lots of trees and heather. Plenty of space for our dog to go exploring. The cottage is extremely spacious, well equipped, the en-suite bathrooms were great, it’s a little dated and it could do with a thorough cleaning.
4th visit to Talisker over 14 years. Property is kept to a high standard. Peaceful location but close to Aviemore centre. Plenty of walks locally with many other activities to choose from. Do as much or as little as you want. Plenty of wildlife in the garden. Stock up on suet balls and peanuts for the birds - have never seen so many outside a kitchen window. Highly recommend this property.
We had a wonderful week in Talisker Forest Lodge. The peaceful outlook to the forest was wonderful and we loved the very many birds on the feeders. The house was well equipped and clean and had a nice charm and feel with all the skiing and mountain pictures. I hope we can return.
Perfectly located and wonderful for all ages. The views out to the forest were ever changing and so much wildlife to see. The property had everything we needed and contact with both the host and housekeeper was was prompt and friendly. Would love to return and make more memories.
TFL is a lovely welcoming place in a very peaceful area at the edge of the forest with a lot of wildlife. We really enjoyed relaxing in the superb living room! Loch an Eilein isn't far and well worth a visit. Cairngorm ski resort is very close, as well as Aviemore centre with all amenities. Great place, wouldn't hesitate to go back!
Lovely lodge. Great location, very dog friendly, which was important to us and very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We loved watching all the bird life and the red squirrels in the garden. The host was extremely helpful both before and during our stay. We will definitely return.
Lovely cottage, very comfortable. So warm we didn’t need to light the fire. Regular visits from the red squirrels, Great spotted woodpecker and other birds. Even a deer one morning. Good location for walks in the forests, mountains or around the lochs. Hope to be back.
Very well equipped cottage in a great location with lots of wildlife to see from the living room. Owner was very helpful too with lots of useful information. Would highly recommend the cottage & we'll definitely be back.
Stayed the New Year week at Talisker and the 5 of us had a wonderful stay. Property is well maintained with everything you could need and more. Excellent location for all that the Cairngorm area can offer. The host is really helpful and did us some research on what was available for Hogmanay. However we ended up at the Hogmanay Ceilidh in Boat of Garten which was excellent and really good fun. Would happily stay again.
We have been coming to aviemore for about thirty years and never get fed up of it. Talisker forest lodge was the icing on the cake. Sitting in the lounge looking out of the patio doors which back on to the forest was magical. Watching the red squirrels and birds feeding in the morning was worth getting up for. The whole family enjoyed it ( five adults and a baby) and the two dogs too. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.
The cottage itself is spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It's so peaceful and quiet - the garden basically leads into the forest - but you are still within walking distance of Aviemore centre. The wildlife in the garden was a highlight for me - red squirrels and woodpeckers were regular visitors. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous location!
A lovely little cottage in a fantastic location within walking distance of plenty of activities including horse riding, quad biking, tree zone the ski slopes and lots more! A lovely short walk away from Aviemore center . An abundance of wildlife in the woods around the cottage including red Squirrels woodpeckers and Roe Deers which was amazing to see daily, our only negative is that the carpets and decor could do with a spruce up but that didn’t distract from a really lovley holiday.
Would visit again!
Thank you Angus 😊

Well placed for fun
Looking out into the forest, the cottage offers a beautiful glimpse of rural seclusion while being well appointed for shops and all the activities that the area has to offer.
Once you get the fire going, the cottage is warm, comfortable and welcoming. And there really could be no kitchen utensil or paraphernalia that you would miss. A lovely snug happy home for Christmas.

Nice stay. Great location.
This property was in a great location for Aviemore, the Rothimurchus forest and the cairngorm mountains.
House comfortable although a little dated and tired in places. Carpets could do with a change. Grounds are very nice with forest straight out the back door which is great if you have dogs.
Very equipped property and beds comfortable. Would stay again.

Talisker forest lodge and stunning weather combined to give us a fantastic week .we honestly could not have had a better break .
The cottage has everything you need ,it really is a home from home . the back garden area is wildlife heaven with red squirrels appearing every day, a resident roe deer is also a regular ,woodpecker being another.

Very enjoyable week in comfortable cottage
Our family group of 6 had a very enjoyable stay in Talisker Lodge. Two ensue bedrooms and an additional family bathroom for children were a real bonus. Convenient for all activities and venues while being quiet and secluded.Sitting area at back looking into forest ideal for bbq evenings. Seeing a variety of birds including a woodpecker feeding in the garden every day, red squirrels climbing the trees and a pine martin was very entertaining. We would definitely recommend a visit and will be back.
