Definitely in need of TLC. We felt somewhat cheated
It's probably fair to admit that if we had been able to, we would have turned right round and gone elsewhere when we first arrived at the villa.
Tricky to find initially, there was a a large puddle in the driveway (there is was a seeping leak under this to be fixed after our stay apparently).
Opening the door and everything looked - TIRED and worn. Some of the patio doors didn't lock, the electric blinds upstairs didnt work; there was no soap or toilet paper in the bathrooms, the microwave didn't work...you get the picture?
The next mornig there was no water (they knew of an issue), 1 of the toilets didn't flush, the coffee machine jug was cracked and cut a hand.
All in all we flagged a dozen issues to the owners.
Fair is fair she responded to each with good grace and we were given a partial refund of 1 day as an apology and a box of delicious local cherries.
The good:
The pool (we had it pre-heated) was lovely and the setting gave a lovely scent
Nice views from the balcony.
We did make the best of our stay and after a torrid couple of days settled into a nice routine of pool tme and local trips.
The owner is really helpful and responsive to quesries.
But really there were so many issues with the villa that needed attention that it should not have been rented out and was no where near as good as the pictures suggested.
It needs a lot of work to spruce it up.
Once done it will be a nice place to stay if you want to get away from it all.
