Smugglers Cottage has been completely renovated to a very high standard and has two bedrooms sleeping four people. This magical cottage enjoys open plan living and a private garden with stunning views of the River Fowey and the pretty Town. For those colder times of year, curl up on one of the sofas, by the lovely log burner. Free logs are included. Watch the river and relax in the landscaped, sunny garden, with a small ornamental pond, is ideal for al fresco dining or chilling out. The kitchen with it's range style cooker has everything you need from a home from home including a Nespresso machine. The reclaimed pew and chairs in the dining area is the perfect space for enjoying meals. The bedrooms are furnished with lovely bedsteads, luxury matresses and 100% cotton bed linen. Relax at the Juliette Balcony in the Master bedroom and watch the ships go by. Take time out in the beautiful bathroom with bath, feature shower and tumbled glass pebble tiles, there is in addition a conveniently located additional downstairs toilet. Smugglers Cottage is perfect for relaxing and provides an ideal base for exploring this very special part of Cornwall. A short walk to the coast path and Readymoney Cove. Free WIFI and Free Logs.

Lovely Fowey cottage

The cottage is beautiful, very clean and well furnished. A short walk down into Fowey & (as others have said) a very steep walk back up! The cottage was an excellent base to explore the area with Charlestown, Mevagissey etc not far away. As we normally visit the north coast we did find ourselves drawn back to the north coast beaches for the waves & bodyboarding. However, the beaches nearby (Readymoney cove in Fowey) & Polkerris (10 mins drive) were great for families with small children. We had originally planned to take our dog as the cottage is advertised as dog friendly but we were glad we didn’t as the garden would not have been very practical with no grass & a low wall at the end which our dog could easily have jumped. Apart from that no negatives at all, we really enjoyed our stay!

Fantastic cottage

As soon as we arrived at Smugglers Cottage we knew we were going to have a fantastic week. The cottage has everything you need, the beds are comfortable and the views are incredible. Fowey has lots to offer, great pubs and restaurants, our favourites the Ship Inn, Havener’s and Bufala. The ice cream at Rubys was also a favourite of ours. We definitely want to come back again.

Lovely week in Cornish cottage

Comfortable cottage. Excellent view over the estuary and well designed small garden and nice patio to view it from. The cottage was clean and had all you needed. We found it a little cramped in the living area and the bathroom. Highlights of our week were our several boat trips, scrumptious meals out and day trips to Eden and Heligan.

Perfect cottage for a relaxing break with views to die for

Fantastic comfortable well thought out cottage with everything you need for a great break. The garden is beautiful and the views are fantastic. The owners are also very friendly and thoughtful and all the communication was spot on. Hope to return.

Smugglers Cottage

The cottage is very pretty with fantastic views, well equipped with very comfortable beds and very clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely cottage is a very pretty location.

Amazing view

Lovely seaside themed cottage with amazing views and garden. Great outdoor seating on patio where we ate breakfast everyday. Lots of walks, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep

Fowey in September

Smugglers Cottage has all you would need for a comfortable stay. Very clean and welcoming so pleased in all respects. The view from the garden is lovely and sitting outside on a sunny day is special. Fowey is very hilly so you need to be prepared for that, although there is a Town Bus which takes you around town if required.

Wonderful, comfortable cottage

Super correspondence with Ali. The cottage is spotless and has everything you need for a holiday . Very comfortable beds, good bathroom and well equipped kitchen .. Superb position for views, the town centre with its lovely shops and restaurant .Definitely would like to return .

Fantastic Fowey Break

Lovely, well equipped cottage which has a great patio with river views. Be prepared for a short but steep uphill climb back from the town - but this is standard in Fowey!

The garden needs attention weeding etc. Fans are required in the bedrooms. Blackout blinds required. Toilet blocks in loo. The shower is too hot unable to adjust

A Hidden Gem

A SUMMARY IS IMPOSSIBLE. I loved everything about the cottage: its incredible views and proximity to the chiming church bells, being in the heart of Fowey and being a resident, the cosey layout of the living area, the beautiful bathroom, the simplicity and comfort of the bedrooms, the extra loo!, the recycling system of coloured bags, being near the bus stop.

Lovely cottage in a great location

Fowey is a great place for a holiday, and this cottage is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. It was super clean and I’m sure in the summer it’s nice to sit out on the terrace and watch the world go by down below. You have to park the car in a nearby car park but this is the case with most places in Fowey.

A delightful cottage that's more like a home. Everything one could possibly need in a holiday property. It was one of the most comfortable holiday cottages we have ever stayed in and, of course, the views were sensational!

This is a lovely cosy comfortable cottage. It is well situated just a 5 minute walk from cafes, shops and restaurants. Ali was great to deal with and messaged me after we arrived to check all was well. The cottage has everything you would need. We had a wonderful week of long walks and eating out. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely Fabulous

We stayed in Smugglers Cottage for a week with our Grandson. The cottage was beautiful, everything you could possibly need and spotlessly clean. The beds were soooo comfy. The views were magnificent forever changing and we were so lucky to see the largest Clipper berthed just in front of the cottage and the next day a cruise ship. Ali & Pete were excellent and had thought of everything to make our stay a fabulous vacation. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone for a great holiday - also so much to do in and around Fowey so hardly any driving involved which was great.

Pete and I moved to Fowey in 2001 after we fell in love with it when we sailed here. We renovated Smugglers Cottage ourselves and wanted to make it a real home from home. We handle the bookings and management of the cleaning and maintenance ourselves with the help of our lovely housekeeper Celene. We both love Fowey and can often be seen out on the water in "Little Gem" our fishing boat.

Why they chose this property

When we first looked at Smugglers Cottage it was in a sorry state and the garden was overgrown, but we fell in love with the views and magical feeling it had. We really enjoyed renovating it and bringing it back to life. Loving how you can just sit on the terrace and watch the boats go by. Or chill by the fire with a glass of wine. The views are really special from the both inside and out.
