Trullo Adagio has been lovingly restored, with the passionate owner insisting on keeping many of the original features, to provide a relaxing holiday retreat. The property benefits from a 10m x 2m private pool (open May-October). A shaded dining area, along with a separate shaded area with a coffee table and comfy chairs. Trullo Adagio is set in its own grounds, about 2 acres with olive and other fruit trees from which guests can help themselves and which offer lots of places to explore. Ideal for a couple or a family the property has 2 bedrooms both with ensuite bathrooms and has lots to do with internet access, a DVD player, a BBQ, MP3 player and a selection of books & dvd's. Close to the medieval town of Ceglie Messapica yet only 25 minutes from the sea the property is superbly situated to explore the local area.

A relaxing retreat

A special place and a great location from which to explore puglia. If you’re looking for peace and quiet and a step back from day to day hustle and bustle we would have no hesitation in recommending a week or two here.

Beautiful Puglia

The area is beautiful and the town of Ceglie Messapica a little gem. Had a great time and even went on a course of pasta making very near by. Lots of fun and plenty to see and do

Gorgeous Trullo with good size pool

Spent a week here. Perfect layout for parents and 2 older daughters to stay with own bathrooms! Lovely shady sitting areas. Half an hour min drive to beaches. Local towns close by. 1.5 hours drive from Bari airport. Would recommend!

Lovely authentic property but with issues

Fantastic property in lovely surroundings. Our stay would have been rated 5/5 however there were some issues that left us disappointed. Firstly, it is advertised as having a wood fired oven. As a keen cook I was really disappointed to be told on arrival that the oven was not used. It was actually boarded up and could not be accessed. Secondly, the wifi connection was not working for 5 days and despite re-booting only restarted after the power tripped and was reset. Thirdly, and most concerning was an issue with water supply. As described, the supply is from recycled rain water & topped up by tanker when necessary. Our taps ran dry in the afternoon and we were without water until the following morning. Having to flush the toilet with water carried from the swimming pool is not good! Our son had to leave for his flight the following day without being able to wash. Correct these issues and the property is well worth visiting.

La maison est tres agreable et bien placee pour qui souhaite visiter la vallee d itria et a 1h30 de Matera. C est une maison neanmoins isolée et il faut apprecier cet aspect. Elle est tres fonctionnelle pour 4 et la piscine appreciable par fortes chaleurs. Tres bon sejour. Merci

Great property and location

Property was lovely striking a great balance between rustic and authentic but having all amenities and comfort required. Great location close to Ceglie and Martina Franca and a number of other beautiful towns a short drive away. Property managers were really helpful in being flexible on check in time and advising on supermarkets and restaurants. Picked figs and walnuts from the trees for breakfast and enjoyed the feeling of being in the country. We hope to get the chance to come back.

Idyllic trullo

My husband, myself and our adult daughter stayed here for two weeks. The trullo is in a peaceful, rural setting and is very well equipped. There are plenty of sitting areas outside, some providing much needed shade. Inside, the living space is compact but the bedrooms are a good size, especially the upstairs double. We loved Ceglie Messapica, it is less touristy than some other places but very pretty and there are lots of good places to eat or simply have a coffee. The trullo is in a great location for visiting other towns. Martina Franca and Cisternino were our favourites. This was our first visit to Puglia, we loved its unique character and I have no doubt we'll return to explore more.

Perfect Puglian getaway

The Trullo was in a great location to visit the surrounding area. The town of Ceglie was stunning with plenty of restaurants to choose from. The trullo itself was just as advertised and perfect for our holiday needs....the pool was greatly appreciated with the very hot weather. We found both the owner and managers of the property excellent to deal with and would definitely consider returning!

Charming, quirky, peaceful hideaway.

We spent a little more than two weeks in this delightful Trullo, ideally situated for exploring the Puglian hilltop towns, countryside and coast. The setting is quite idyllic, peaceful, private, yet only ten minutes drive from the town of Ceglia Messapica, where there are numerous excellent eateries and a charming ancient town which repays time spent strolling around its myriad narrow streets and alleys. The property managers, Martin and Sharron, were attentive, very friendly and always ready to offer practical advice and assistance if required. We felt unable to give 5 stars simply because, although the Trullo has been superbly restored and updated by the owner, the living space is perfect for two, but would be seriously restricted if, say, four adults were staying there. Also, the outside facilities, furniture, cushions etc, are showing the effects of wear and tear at the hands of many visitors and the elements and will require updating at some point in the near future. Having said that, we had a delightful, relaxing, thoroughly memorable holiday.

Wonderfully perfect Trullo in a beautiful setting!

From start to finish our holiday at the Trullo was perfect. Andrew, Martin and Sharron were all unbelievablly helpful and welcoming. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect and very clean. The kitchen and bbq had all we wished for. The pool area and outside space was beautiful and private. Easyily accessible to the towns but you definitely need s car. We would highly recommend anyone to stay here, it’s a little gem.

The property was exactly what we expected from the photographs.

The holiday started with us being met at the house and shown around. The weather was superb throughout the week apart from one day. We used the pool each day so had a great holiday. Don't like the way the Italian's drive which would put me off going there again. Malcolm

Fantastic.

This is 5 star plus if you want unbelievably helpful owners and managers. The property is in a rural location but only 10 mins from the nearest town. The supermarket at ostini is 20 mins away but has a great selection of high quality products. The Trullo had everything we could want with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a great pool and the outdoor space is your living room. Just loved every minute.

A fantastic private haven

Beautiful trullo in lavender heaven

Gorgeous property. Incredibly well equipped with lots of thought given to holiday makers needs. We travelled with 2 children (11 and 13) who spent most of their time in the pool, which is both clean and big enough for a proper swim. The lavender surrounding the pool attracted some of the prettiest butterflies we have ever seen and the scent was nothing short of heavenly. Be sure to creep out at night to lay next to the lavender and look up at the stars. (Spotting the bats was fun too!) If you can steal yourself away from lazy days by the pool, beautiful towns like Alborobello and Lecce are within easy reach. We visited beaches on the Adriatic and Ionian coast and whilst they were lovely, they were incredibly busy during August. We therefore spent more time than we'd originally planned 'at home' at the trullo. Sharon and Martin were fantastic managers; really friendly and armed with plenty of local information. We would thoroughly recommend this property.

Traditional Trullo in quiet rural setting but within easy reach of local town and super market

Excellent location to visit many attractive local towns such Ostuni, Cisterino, etc. and approximately an hour to the coast and free beaches. Trullo Adagio is in a secluded, peaceful setting and we spent many relaxing in the sun or in the shade of mature gardens beside the pool. Martin and Sharron, the property managers were extremely helpful and welcoming to get acquainted with the area. A very pleasant holiday in a charming property.

Gorgeous Trullo in stunning Puglia

This is a dream villa for a small family who loves good food, amazing accommodation and exploring. We had a two year old who delighted in the swimming pool... The lavender catches in the breeze and if you want to escape the heat, the Trullo is designed to keep the building cool. The Trullo is stunning and very well looked after. Andrew has thought of everything. In the evening, once we put Seb to bed, we would light up the BBQ or have a little pasta and sit by the pool sipping the gorgeous local wines. The whole experience was amazing. We particularly fell in love with Ceglie Messapica and Martina Franca where I possibly had one of the best meals of my life.

Wir verbrachten zwei wunderschöne Wochen in diesem Haus. Vollkommen von fremden Blicken geschützt, was wir sehr schätzen. Um einen herum nur Natur, trotzdem ist man schnell in der nächsten Ortschaft Ceglie Messapica. Alles sehr gut "in Schuss", dafür sorgen Sharron und Martin, die Verwalter, die man immer kontaktieren konnte. Wir können dieses Anwesen ohne Wenn und Aber weiterempfehlen.

Trulli conforme à la description

Trulli typique, la climatisation et les ventilateurs étaient les bienvenus pour pouvoir dormir correctement. L'espace extérieur est bien aménagé pour 4 personnes La piscine était très agréable sous les 37 degrés durant 15 jours ... la voiture est indispensable pour sillonner la région. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

Apulien - ein Erlebnis

3 Wochen in einem urigen Trullo zu verleben, ist ein Erlebnis. Man taucht ein in eine andere Welt. Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet. Die kleine Küche hatte alles, was man im Urlaub zum Kochen benötigt. Im Außenbereich kann man zwischen verschiedenen Sitzplätzen wählen, je nach Schatten oder Sonne. Den schönen Pool konnten wir wegen des ungewöhnlich kühlen Wetters im Mai nur bedingt nutzen. Er lud aber sehr ein. Insgesamt ist das Wohnen in diesem Trullo innen und außen sehr romantisch. Das britische Hausverwalter-Paar war sehr hilfsbereit und die Kommunikation z.B. was den wöchentlichen Wäschewechsel anging, klappte sehr gut. An die Benutzung von Trinkwasser aus Flaschen kann man sich schnell gewöhnen. Das Trullo Adagio liegt in den sanften und grünen Hügeln des Valle Itria und ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Entdeckung in dem Dreieck Bari - Matera - Lecce. Aber nicht nur diese herausragenden Städte mit jeweils ganz eigenem Charakter sondern auch kleinere Orte wie Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Ostuni, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Alberobello, Oria, Martina Franca und Ceglie Messapica sind äußerst sehenswert. Eine tolle Erfahrung!

I am a freelance filmmaker with a passion for southern Italy. This area of Puglia was my first experience of Italy back in the late 70s. I've travelled all around the country but have ended up back where it all started!
