This old coach house stands at the end of the garden of the house in a Grade II listed terrace that it served in the 19th Century. It has been recently renovated to high standard and to current Building Regulations. It has its own South facing private granite walled garden adjacent to the old coach house of the next property. The outlook and environment is very private although it is only 5 minutes walk from the shops in the center of the town. The approach from the main road is via the mews cul-de-sac which allows for car drop-off at the front door. Free parking is in the adjacent streets. The house has central heating run by an air heat pump for green energy economy.

Nice quiet location good host, information was useful clean and tidy property good hot easy to use shower really comfortable beds only ten minute stroll from the main shopping area, parking is on street but didn’t have to much trouble finding a space so didn’t have to pay for car parks , lots of little extras in the kitchen cupboards if wanting to do any home cooking.

Could be better
Good things:
The Kitchen was well equipped with a good sized fridge and the shower worked well.
Pretty garden.
Lots of info on where to eat, etc.
We were able to leave our bags to collect later on check out day.
We were met by the property owner on arrival. This had to be prearranged as there was no key box however it wasn’t an issue. In entering the house there was an overwhelming stench of dog. The sitting room reeked so much we ended up shutting the door to it to try to contain the smell. Fortunately we weren’t going to be spending much time at the property as we were in the area for work but if we were planning to I honestly don’t think we could have spent any time in that room.
It didn’t matter to us but the TV in the sitting room was incredibly small, so anyone wanting to watch it wouldn’t have found it a pleasant experience. The carpets were very thin, especially on the stairs, making it noisy when ever anyone used them.
Parking was a complete nightmare. You have to reverse down the drive to drop things off but you can’t park outside as you’d be forever moving your car to let others out. There is parking on the street across the road if you are lucky ( we rarely were) but much safer is a long stay car park 5 mins walk away which is free after 4pm until 9am which we weren’t informed about.
The property has potential but needs a thorough deep clean. (We are both dog owners by the way), new carpets and a more friendly welcome from the owner wouldn’t go amiss.
Property was as described and lovely to have the garden.
Very convenient location for us to walk to town, along promenade and beach to Newlyn and buses to st .Ives etc.
Best of all was Coastliner sitting outside and free with our bus passes.
Only used car to get to a magical evening at The Minack theatre.
We just had the best week staying in this beautiful converted coach house. Such a lovely lady who was the host of this property met us on arrival and explained everything. Location was fantastic - walking distance to the town and harbour, but yet it was such a quiet location with very friendly neighbours. We reallly enjoyed using the lovely garden especially for early morning coffee. The house had everything you would ever need for a stay and was warm and cosy. The only problem was we wish we had booked to stay longer! We will return to this property again - fantastic 🙂
Susanna greeted us cheerfully. The house is really well planned out with everything in practical places! Really good to find a 3 bedroom house at such a reasonable cost . The underfloor heating made all the rooms cosy. Comfy beds and good shower. Lots of towels provided which was handy. We parked at the tennis club which is £2:50 a day and a short walk away. There was parking in nearby streets as well . Loved that Causeway Head shopping was so close . Lovely sunny garden. Really quiet at night so could sleep with the windows open . Would definitely stay here again
The Coach House is a comfortable, cosy well equipped holiday home with a pretty garden . It was ideal for our family of 5 adults. Communication with Susie the owner was easy and friendly. The centre of Penzance is a short walk away. Parking is in neighbouring streets.
This property was ideal. Clean, well equipped, comfortable and spacious. No problem to find parking nearby. A short walk to the town centre and a good base for exploring Cornwall. No doubt we will visit again.
Quiet, peaceful comfortable house with lovely courtyard garden. Suzie was always available when needed and very helpful. Short walk into town and plenty of good restaurants to enjoy.
We loved the property, the location and the fact that the owner had provided everything you could possibly need. The beds and furnishings were comfortable and we just loved it.
Hi!
The lady of the property is adorable and property is clean and well-kept;you can find everything you need in the house.the garden where we drank coffee in the morning and had dinner in the evening is fantastic.the neighbors are quiet as if no one lives there.
We said goodbye to the lady owner and promised her that we would love to come back.
Very good house, very clean & tidy, well stocked with bits & bobs which was useful.
Good communication with owner, she explained local area to us.
Lovely garden to sit out in and relax.
Bathroom had a good shower.
Spacious well-equipped 3 bedroom property with charming small private walled garden , ideal for Penzance town and amenities. Additionally, Susie lives adjoining the Coach House and met with us on arrival in order to give a house overview.
We found this property excellent.
Very well equipped and comfortable.
The walled garden is delightful giving guests a beautiful peaceful space for relaxing.
A very good base and well connected for exploring the area.
A lovely property with plenty of space and a pretty garden to relax in. Excellent value with a well equipped kitchen and a central location just a few minutes walk into Penzance. Highly recommended - we have stayed in many cottages in the area and this one is the most spacious by far. Plenty of parking on near by roads so parking was not a problem.
My wife, mother in law, infant daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was ideal for our needs. There was a cot, high chair and stair gate for the little one and a lovely secluded garden enjoyed by all. In terms of other amenities, it had everything you’d want. The location was great for exploring Penzance or as a base for visiting Cornwall in general. Susie was a great help too, very nice and communicative and made sure everything went smoothly. I would highly recommend.
Had a lovely stay here, very homely property, felt like home from home. Plenty of room for a family, although just 2 of us on this occasion. Would like to return with my Dad as well in future. Garden is beautiful, wish we had been staying for longer to have more time to just relax in the garden. Short walk to the town centre, including train and bus stations for exploring Cornwall. Great base for our adventures!
The house had everything needed for a holiday home - especially the kitchen which was very well equipped. It is in a great location to walk into the town centre and the little walled garden is a big bonus! Susanna was friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Thank you!
We had a lovely week and the cottage had everything we needed. The provision of beach towels was great as it meant less to pack. The only downside is there is no parking although we always managed to park on the street not too far away. It’s in a great location for visiting west Cornwall and would definitely recommend it to others.
I and my family thoroughly enjoyed our week
long stay at this property. The house was very clean, good shower, nice secure garden. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided- bed sheets, towels, kitchen with all appliances, iron, hairdryer etc. The whole booking process was very smooth and communication with the property owner was easy. The house is located a few minutes walk in to town centre. The only slight downside is that there is no parking available at the property, but there are no parking restrictions in the surrounding streets and there were always plenty of spaces available.
I would recommend this property to anyone who is planning to stay in Penzance.
Great location to explore southern cornwall which is exactly what we wanted .Only downside was the parking but this is fully explained in the description and by the host before and at arrival
The host was very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The property was perfect for our needs and very good value for money.

About the host
Hosted by Susanna Huntington
Private owner of property which has been in the family for 50 years + along with adjacent properties. We decided to renovate rather than sell to keep the property in a good state.
What makes this property unique
The house is 5 minutes walk from the centre of the town, but is very private in its mews situation. As it was originally part of a larger historic property listed Grade II, the gardens to the South are very private. So one is in a quiet secluded environment whilst being in the centre of the town.
