Villa dos Duquinhos is a unique villa overlooking the ocean and the picturesque village of Salema Beach, boasting some of the most panoramic ocean and coastal views in the Algarve.

The villa has been completely renovated and refurbished, with air conditioning installed throughout. In the main house, you’ll find three bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. There is also a spacious living room that includes a comfortable lounge and dining area, as well as a fully fitted kitchen.

Additionally, there are two separate apartments:

The first apartment (pool level) features a living/bedroom with three beds and an en-suite bathroom. One of these beds is a sofa that can be converted into a bed.

Lovely villa.

Beautiful villa with lots of seating both indoor and outdoors. Lovely pool and lovely view out to sea. Communication with host was always easy. Suitable for large family groups.

Amazing villa with amazing views

Great stay . The villa was well setup with great decor. The views are amazing. It's a bit of a walk uphill from the main town but well worth it for the view you have.

Wonderful home from home!

Beautiful well equipped spacious villa! Space for 10 of us to relax, cook and eat together, or in smaller groups. View was wonderful, beach a short walk away, great cocktail bars and restaurants also walking distance. We would definitely return!

Amazing Location & Property

Our stay was everything we could have hoped for the pictures of the villa didn’t do it justice. I will try and give positives and things that could be an issue + beds very comfortable + villa very well equipped + All towels bedding good quality and clean + hairdryers in every room + parking easy for 3 cars anymore would have been a small challenge the gate to the property not working + property and pool cleaned weekly (not the pool area which we had to do during our 3 week stay) + TV plenty of choice with almost every channel you can think of - only watched for the football + plenty of outside space for our group to be together and apart + 10min walk to the town (20min very steep back) worth it for the views +owner very easy to deal with and very prompt in replying which was appreciated when we had a small problem on arriving - resolved quickly + 2 large supermarkets very close we found Lidl the best + smaller supermarket 5mins walk had any daily stuff needed + table tennis table great fun + pool brilliant but very very cold (no heating available) - bbq needs the inside replacing fallen apart and was quite difficult to use and clean - I would be wary of small children - steps quite steep between main house and pool - no hand rail into the pool - I would suggest getting more plastic glasses for by the pool - property would benefit from storage box to put cushions in when they got wet they took a while to dry - outside dinning plentiful but they are getting tired and I think they had somehow been touched up a number of us got black marks on legs and clothes - all came off after washing All in all we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

A fabulous Villa

A wonderful villa in a beautiful location. The Villa is very well equipped and extremely well thought out. The view over Salema bay is breathtaking. We would definitely recommend this villa and we will certainly be booking a return trip.

A perfect stay

The house was absolutely perfect for our family and we had such a lovely holiday - everything was so well thought out and made for a wonderful week. The beds were all very comfortable, the sea views were fabulous and the kitchen was a real pleasure to work in. We did have most of our meals at the villa and so enjoyed eating on the terrace with the most wonderful of views. The pool area was hugely enjoyed by everyone and I must admit that we did not do much exploring of the area as everyone was so happy to enjoy the house! Thank you so much for all your help and advice prior to our visit - it was much appreciated. The property manager was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries as well as organising an excellent taxi for our return to the airport. All in all a very memorable holiday, I do hope that we will be back in the not too distant future.

The property is in a good position with the ocean view, overlooking Salema and in a quiet neighbourhood. There is a climb up from Salema which would not suit everyone. The beds and bedding are not very comfortable and the sanitary equipment i.e. showers, shower cubicles and drains need more regular maintenance. Not keen on there being no doors on the en-suites. The refrigerator was not running cold enough and had to be defrosted on arrival.

Ok but a bit tired and no air conditioning

Salema is a nice little village with some good restaurants but the menus are all very similar, which got a bit samey by the end of the week. The villa was OK but not up to the standard of others that we have stayed in, as decor was tired and it felt scruffy in places. The main issue was the lack of air conditioning. There were plug in tower fans but these were not up to the job and we had some very sleepless nights due to the intense heat. The bed in the master bedroom was not comfortable and the room was smaller than other villas we have stayed in and so felt very cramped. The very steep hills from the sea front up to the villa would not be suitable for elderly people nor those with small children in pushchairs. Our party ranged in age between 11 and 49 years, and we found the walk quite daunting, especially in the heat.

Lovely villa in a tranquil setting

Our group really enjoyed our stay. The pictures don't do the property justice. The villa was spacious and the view was beautiful. We had young children with us and the owner was very accommodating to our requests. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and we happily ate on the terrace every night. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa.

Perfect setting and awesome holiday

We absolutely loved staying at this villa! I've booked quite a few in the past and this is one of the best maintained. I've read the previous reviews and was a bit worried, but everything was just great! We had loads of towels, the kitchen was fully (!) equipped, the interior was stunning and there was even a speaker (mine wasn't necessary anymore) and stuff for the pool available (we left a volleyball behind, hope people will enjoy it!). It was a shame that the Jacuzzi wasn't usable especially because it's so big (people should pay for damage, shame on you!). The entire villa looks so much better live, the pictures are great, but not quite the same. It is quite something waking up to such an amazing view! Very jealous of the people who will stay there. We just had a bit of an issue with check out time, but Ramona (landlady) said she will sort this out with the agency since they have misinformed us; apparently. Otherwise Ramona was very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help! So was Heleen by the way. Thank you for a lovely holiday!!

Wow! What can I say except that is place is spectacular

I speak for everyone that stayed here. This place is truly amazing! A lot of thought and detail has been put in to it. Only a few minor things that are needed but nothing that has effected us really. There was no broom to sweep up the floor, one of the sinks in the bathroom is slow draining, perhaps a wash basket and more pegs could be supplied, but apart from that, we have never stayed in such an amazing place! We will definitely miss this place, the view and salema. Hopefully we can return next year with family. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!

Our unique Salema experience

Thank you very much for such a marvelous place for our family holiday to the Algarve! A relaxing place, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of space for everyone in our group of ten. We stayed with another family and whilst that in theory should have been utter chaos there is plenty of space inside and outside the villa, the pool and the 2 separate apartments. We all coexisted very happily! Besides, many lovely beaches are not far away from the villa, and, as there is enough place for a car on its own grounds, there’s no problem with exploring the Western Algarve. And with kids in bed by 8pm we settled down to cocktails and supper outside on the terrace every evening. Bliss! Highly recommended for a group family holiday or group of friends who want to get away from the rat race a kick back for a week or two. Hope this was not our last visit to Casa dos Duquinhos.

Casa dos Duquinhos is a wonderful oasis

Casa dos Duquinhos is a wonderful oasis in the Salema area. The villa is perfectly situated; at about a 5 minute walk close to the center of Salema and Salema Beach. We had the most relaxing holiday with our family here. The villa is spacious and accommodates our group of 10 people well. The 2 apartments provided lots of privacy. Every bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The outside dining areas are lovely with wonderful ocean views. The local village of Salema has some fantastic restaurants. Restaurant Aqua na Boca was our favorite! It also has two small supermarkets and a cosy caravan bakery, so you don't have to go too far for shopping. We would highly recommend Casa dos Duquinhos for a holiday and really hope we can go back with my family again sometime soon.

Great spacious home.

We visited Portugal and this beautiful house in the beginning of May. The house is very specious and you feel really at home quickly. The house has a quality finish and it shows in every room. The owners clearly take care and stay there regularly themselves. The view is amazing and we sat on the terras almost all of the time. When the sun got more intense, the sunscreens and lazy chairs gave us comfort. Also the pool was visible from all angles on every terras, so our younger children could looked after without a hassle. We also appreciated the layout of the rooms - being with two families we still had our own space and privacy.

Lovely villa , beautiful views but some shortfalls

This is a lovely villa , with beautiful views , but for our family ( 2 adults and 5 teenage kids) there were some issue especially at these rental rates. Firstly, the Internet only works in a few rooms , no internet in apartment or bedroom on the pool deck and the speeds are very slow. TV was supposed to have all internationals problem was there were mostly German and Dutch . Bed linen was stained in some rooms and very worn. The kitchen appliances were poor quality and the utensils were VERY limited with some broken. As an example the BBQ utensils was limited to a charcoal thongs and one food thongs. Very limited serving dishes and bowls , one to be exact , which is bad for a house that sleeps 10 ! We had friends over one night and used a sauspan as a large salad bowl ! Not enough fans around the house, and it was very hot every night

Amazing!

We stayed at the villa as a family of four and can honestly say that it was perfect The photos really don't do it justice - the accommodation, location and views are exactly what we wanted and we had a brilliant week. Our teenage children loved having their own apartments that are within the property and Salema itself was beautiful with plenty of good restaurants I wouldn't hesitate recommending the villa to anyone else and we are already thinking of rebooking for next year

A stay in Paradise

This villa is exceptional and likely to be the most beautiful in Salema. We have stayed here three times for a period varying from one to two weeks, in May 2009, November 2009 and April 2011. I know the owners and therefore I can tell you that they have put in every effort to turn this property into a paradise for their holidays. They succeeded. From the living room, the kitchen arena, the master bed room as well as from the terrasses, you have an astonisihing view on the little old and cosy centre of Salema, the beach, waves rolling over to the coast and the Mediterrean Sea. They not only have upgraded this object into a modern design villa, they also renewed the swimming pool, which now contains a healthy salt water installation in stead of chlorized water. Finally, they have created a beautiful garden at this huge plot. Downhill, it is a five to ten minute walk to the beach and a ten to fifteen minute walk back up. If you are not willing to prepare your own food in the spacious kitchen, you can get your breakfast or dinner downhill. There are at least two really good restaurants in the centre, and even more in the close surroundings of Salema. My personal favorite is the sea brass fresh from the sea at Bistro Central for just EUR 12,50. This villa is at a one hour drive from Faro airport. If you are looking for a great stay in the Algarve which make you believe paradise exists, you just found your destination. Ronald

One word describes our stay in June 2011 - Bliss The most delightful villa in a wonderful position and with views to die for. Salema is a lovely village and perfect for young children as there is virtually no traffic. I would happily recommend this property and we have already booked again for June 2012 and can't wait! Best holiday (home) ever!

This house is absolutely stunning and the view of the Ocean is amazing. It's well maintained, clean, and has a great outdoor terrace with a beautiful pool. Both the house and the terrace are very spacious, and equiped with everything you need. The tips we got from the owners made the stay even better- they sent us to all the great places in this area. Salema is a lovely, laid back village with fantastic Seafood straight from the beach. We absolutely fell in love with this area of Portugal and with the house. I even doubted writing a review because don't really want everyone to find out how great this is- as we definitely want to come back again and are now risking to find it fully booked! But hey, such a gorgeous house and welcoming owners deserve a great review.
