Short walk along the prom to the town, good close parking (Chargeable), clean, tidy with all facilities needed for a relaxing stay. Only negatives were the garden furniture ( Ready for the bonfire) & in need of some garden maintenance before access is a problem? Apart from that all was good 👌

Lovely cottage in a great location.
This lovely cottage had everything that our family needed, with great extras that you don't usually find, like herbs and spices, tea and coffee and even ice in the freezer!
The cottage was decorated to a high standard, with modern kitchen and bathrooms, and lovely comfy beds. The WiFi was also included (phone reception is not great in Lyme, so this was much appreciated).
We had great communication from the owner, who provided a high chair and travel cot for then our nine month old grandson. We love Lyme Regis, and cannot wait to return to this home from home just seconds from The Cobb.

We loved our stay at the Cobb. The cottage is very well designed and equiped. Lots of great extras too, like the hifi, washing machine and the kitchen is fantastic.
Sam the owner was a pleasure to deal with as well.
Great holiday, we will be returning, which is the best endorsement you can give.

Wonderful break away
On my arrival at Lyme Cottage I immediately started to relax. Aside from having everything at hand to make your holiday special it exudes a warm inviting home from home atmosphere the minute you step through the door. The cottage is ideally located only a few minutes walk away from the beach and the Cobb. I would like to think that I will return in the very near future and cannot recommend it highly enough as a holiday retreat.

A lovely cottage with everything needed for a very enjoyable stay
The cottage is perfectly positioned near the Cobb with a south facing garden to maximise the sun and the views. It is a very comfortable and stylish base for exploring the beautiful Dorset and Devon coastline. We enjoyed exploring Lyme itself and relaxing in the very well equipped cottage.

Lyme Cottage
Had a lovely few days in this beautiful cottage! The attention to detail in the design was excellent and the location was great for a relaxing few days around the beach and harbour. We particularly enjoyed spending meal times on the decking in the garden, but the light open feel of the whole cottage was great. Clean, comfortable, characterful and with a hint of luxury: a really lovely cottage.

Best of English seaside
We really enjoyed our stay in Lyme Cottage. It is some years since we visited Lyme Regis and the first time with the children. The weather was fantastic for the whole stay and we spent most of it on the beach building sandcastles. The cottage is really lovely and we appreciated your attention to detail and the cosy feel. I'm already missing the sea views and the fossil hunting!

Lovely, lovely, lovely
Thanks Sam. We just got back from Lyme and we're reminiscing about what a lovely week we had. And in no small part thanks to your lovely cottage. It's in such an amazing spot – perfect for The Cobb, seafront, downtown Lyme and sunrises – and you've clearly put lots of thought and clever touches into the renovation. It's lovely and airy and makes the most of the space, the natural light and stunning views to the sea. If it was summer, I think we'd have camped out on the decking for the week! Loved cooking in the kitchen and the herb garden was a nice touch and came in very handy. All in all, a flipping ace pad!

Truly wonderful!
This cottage is a gem! It is beautifully styled and decorated, cosy and welcoming and has plenty of little extras that make it one step ahead of the rest. The location is excellent, being down by the historic cobb, with a handful of pubs, cafés and restaurants right on your doorstep, or you can walk along the prom for 10 minutes to get to the town centre which is full of unique and rather wonderful shops and places to eat and drink! We would highly recommend Lyme Cottage to anyone, and would love to go back ourselves one day.

Lyme Cottage
The cottage was beautifully clean and fresh on our arrival and it was lovely to be greeted with a selection of eatable goodies, thank you.
We loved the proximity to the beach and town, brilliant for children when you are carrying lots of equipment to the beach. The walk up the hill and through the gardens to town was a delight, such gorgeous views!
We spent quite a lot of time on various beaches (!), walked up Golden Cap, 'fossiled' at Charmouth, visited Dorchester, went to the old fashioned cinema and had a trip to the swimming pool in Axminster on 1 of the only 2 rainy days we had during our 2 weeks. The rest of the time it was glorious sunshine.
Sam was very helpful and booking was very easy, all in all a lovely holiday. We love Lyme and will be back! Thank you.
We really liked this cottage overlooking the sea. 1 minute to the beach and you can’t beat the location. Would gladly make a return visit.
Sam is also a great communicator. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Lyme Regis holiday
We were two couples staying in Lyme Regis for a week. My wife was in a wheelchair after a broken leg. We had a marvelous time in LR. Cottage was well located and great for our use. It was well stocked with utensils making life easy. A great holiday destination.

Superb accommodation
We spent a wonderful week in this beautifully appointed and comfortable apartment. The welcome pack of local goodies on arrival was much appareciated. Location terrific and within walking distance of the town centre and very close to the harbour. Terrace was a delightful place to sit and enjoy a meal and the view. Booking was easy and owner responded quickly to all emails. We would love to have stayed longer and would certainly return. Highly recommended.

About the host
Hosted by Sam Milford
Lyme Cottage has been in my family for three generations but was in a fairly poor state of repair when I first came down to stay. The simplest option would have been to sell up - but I have never been tempted. Lyme Regis is endlessly gorgeous and I felt that the cottage had the potential to be something very special...
It took around three years of work to get the cottage in shape for guests and I can't wait to hear what you think!
Why they chose this property
Lyme Cottage was built in 1860 and is an important part of Lyme's heritage. The terrace was initially built to house the town's coastguards and later became home to fishermen. Lyme Cottage was Grade 2 listed in the 1970s.
The area is absolutely stunning. Coming down Cobb Road towards the cottage takes your breath away - with a view that is never the same twice.
You don't have to love dinosaurs to be staggered by the local geology... the Jurassic rocks are exposed along the beaches and we're actively encouraged top collect 200 million year old fossils before they are eaten away by the sea!
What makes this property unique
I've really tried to make sure that Lyme Cottage is something special.
In planning for the renovations I used heritage architects to ensure that the charm of the house wasn't lost, whilst bringing it all right up to date so that it's a gorgeous, comfortable place to stay. I've tried to think of everything!
Although this a relatively small coastguard cottage the photos should give you an idea of the sense of space that we've created by not trying to cram too much in, and by leaving you space to fill when you arrive!
