It is well served by both roads and public transport in the nearby village of Old Windsor, providing easy access to London and beyond.

The private gardens and stunning view at the Victorian Lodge provide the perfect setting for a small intimate wedding. Whilst the romantic gardens within the Little Dower House estate provide an ideal venue for larger weddings.

For larger families staying at the Victorian Lodge there is also the opportunity to rent the Little Hideaway. This magical and charming getaway sits alongside Little Dower House, two minutes away up the drive. The Little Hideaway is a newly finished two story studio which sleeps two to four adults.

Christmas break 2023

Stayed at the lodge for a short break. Ideally located for Lapland UK and Windsor Castle. Hamish and Susie were great hosts, excellent communication and welcome when we arrived. The property is nice and cosy, well equipped and with a a good size garden if you have a 4 legged friend. Right on the doorstep of Windsor Great Park for walks. Hamish's stories of the Royals and a very famous 'Neighbour' were great, he had us enthralled from the moment we arrived. I must say also that the welcome pack was one of the best we have ever had, very generous thank you. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend. Many thanks.

My family and I love this beautiful cottage hence returning. The property is spacious and well equipped and the grounds are beautifully mainited with stunning views of the castle. Our hosts were as ever friendly and warm. We love the garden and meadow and it was the perfect place to spend the jubilee weekend. Wonderful

Brilliant three nights break with friends - fabulous time. We stayed 5 years ago and just had to come back. Hamish is the perfect host the Lodge is fabulous only criticism we have is the Sofa’s seat cushions and beautiful chair need to be re plumped as you feel as though you are sitting on the floor. Which is uncomfortable. But overall experience brilliant and in a beautiful setting.

Perfect Windsor Cottage

The cottage is in a great location, very peaceful surroundings with amazing views of the castle. The accommodation was very comfortable, we travelled as a family of 5 with dogs, lots of room for all! The kitchen was well stocked and we were given a very generous welcome basket on arrival. Hamish met us at the property and gave really helpful advice on places to visit and where to eat and drink. We would highly recommend this property.

Gem of a cottage

My family fell in love with this beautiful cottage. The grounds are well kept, the cottage is well equipped and our time there was relaxing. The cottage has 3 sizeable bedrooms, one with a bath ensuite, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, a great kitchen/diner as well as Sky, Netflix and WiFi. The cottage is well placed for walks and a short drive to Windsor. Our hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly with some great stories about their glamorous neighbours. I would happily return to this special place and look forward to booking my next trip.

Charming Victorian cottage in an idyllic setting

Five of us made the Victorian lodge home for a week, during the autumn half term break, and we all had a fantastic time. First of all, the warmest of welcomes awaits when you arrive, along with with a generous ‘welcome pack’ to get you started, which you are actively encouraged to obliterate! For those that wish to venture out, Hamish can provide with plenty of information on good restaurants and other things to do in the locale, as well as a good run down of how everything works in the lodge. We actually self catered the entire week and the kitchen was happily up to the task (we had up to four of us beavering away at any one time). The cottage itself is charming, full of character and well appointed. Its just a lovely place to be, particularly if you like escaping to the country for a bit of peace and quiet. It is also well situated for those wanting to take advantage of the walking and cycling opportunities afforded by Windsor great park (Hamish can tell you the best entrances and good things to look out for). It’s worth adding that, despite its age, the cottage is nice and warm, and there’s absolutely no shortage of hot water. There’s also good wifi throughout , which is handy, and there’s a selection of games as well as access to Netflix to help keep you amused. The lodge is beautifully situated. The bedroom to the rear of the property has an uninterrupted view, across the neighbouring farm, of Windsor castle, while, beyond the gravel driveway at the front is a large field where the owners keep their horses. The whole place is beautifully kept, and is genuinely a little oasis of tranquility. However, it is still comfortably close to civilisation and we made good use of the little Co-Op, which is about five minute drive away. For those interested in getting a shopping delivery, both Sainsbury’s and Ocado are able to deliver to the lodge (we had one of each and they were both able to find us without any problems). To finish up, we had a super time here and I am in no doubt that the lodge’s very high rating is well deserved. I suspect we’ll be back at some point.

Charming 19th Century Lodge

Just returned from a weekend at this lovely property, which is situated in a picturesque setting. The lodge is fully equiped with everything and is very cosy and warm. It's location is perfect for those wanting to visit Windsor, Ascot, Legoland etc but is also perfect for anyone wanting to relax and unwind, e.g. walking in Windsor Great Park and seeing the Deer. The owner, Hamish, is an absolute Gentleman, he just wants you to have the perfect time and his knowledge of the area is second to none. Would recommend to anyone.

We had such a great family weekend at the Lodge. It is such a beautiful house in an equally beautiful setting. The house has absolutely everything you need and if not then Hamish will sort it for you. Communication was great and he just wants you to have the best time while you are staying. I have never seen such a thoughtful welcome basket. Can’t fault anything at all. It felt like home from home. Thank you Hamish for a fantastic weekend.

Super peaceful location as a base for many attractions

The level of equipment is exceptional. Many items we brought with us that we did not need. Hamish is very hospitable and nothing is too much trouble. To be picky, the bathroom door did not close fully but in a property of this age I call it 'character'. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

Little Dower House

We have just returned home from a truly lovely break at Little Dower Lodge where Susie & Hamish made us feel so welcome. The reason why this gorgeous spot appealed to us was the country garden with its views of the surrounding countryside. Windsor Castle in the distance & the ancient oak in the Windsor Park. A comfy property, home from home. A super place to relax . Fabulous property for sitting in the garden, eating outside & listening to the variety of birdsong. Such a good location as you feel enough away from the crowds of Windsor, yet close enough to many wonderful pubs & places of interest. What made this place special was the friendly & kind owners. We will return. This place shouts out for you to enjoy what is around you!!!

Hamish even came late Saturday evening when an alarm went off and sorted it. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful location in perfect setting with easy access to many attractions

This was the perfect place to relax and spend time with family visiting from NZ. Friends dropped by during our stay to share meals in the charming garden. The cottage was comfortable, warm and well equipped. The glorious weather throughout was a bonus. We walked/cycled in the Great Park, visited Windsor Castle & Legoland, boated on the Thames & took the train to London for a whistle stop tour. Thank you Hamish and Susie.
