A fabulous villa for our family group of 12

On arrival at Son Gual, the villa exceeded expectations ... loads of space, great facilities, efficient aircon, a huge verandah for al fresco dining, and a lovely pool ... all the essentials for a hot-climate holiday. Gillian was a very welcoming hostess, taking time to explain how everything worked.

Great Villa for family holidays

I spent a week here with my family. The villa is constructed in a typical Mallorca style with beautiful stone cladding walls adding to the charm of this rural home. The house has plenty of room and areas to relax in, and almost all the bedrooms are very spacious. We loved the beautiful views from the terrace over the bay of Palma and enjoyed watching the planes coming in to land in the distance. The airport is very conveniently situated only 15 mins away. The garden is very pleasant to stroll around with olive, fig, avocado trees and more. We enjoyed the nights we stayed in with BBQ s on the upper terrace. The kitchen is well stocked with cutlery, plates, glasses, cups etc. Communication with the host was great, who responded quickly to any questions or needs we had. We made good use of the pool and enjoyed a birthday pool/ BBQ party for one of the guests. I would recommend this villa for a relaxing break for a large family or group holiday.

What a villa.

My family and I stayed in this gorgeous villa for the duration of our time in Mallorca for our wedding. It couldn’t have been anymore perfect. Gillian was a fantastic host, meeting us to check us in late at night and was on hand any time of day/night if we needed anything (even to get my sons ball that went over a wall we couldn’t get access to) we had everything we could possibly need there, we had a pool party on the Friday with our friends and family who were all blown away with how stunning the house and surroundings were. We would 100% love to go back again one day and would recommend the same to anyone!

We had a fantastic time staying at this great Villa this August for a week. In total, there were 11 of us and the Villa was perfect with lots of room. The gardens are amazing and the kids spent most of the time in the pool. Gillian was a great host and we would definitely like to go and stay there again. Highly recommended and perfect for a large group holiday. We didnt want to leave and now have holiday blues x

Amazing property

An absolutely stunning property - it’s even nicer than the photos show. Gillian is a wonderful host, extremely responsive and whilst in the villa she couldn’t have been more helpful. Would highly recommend this property and hope to be back again!

So close to a 5 star

I would first like to say that the Villa is beautiful and In a lovely location. Communication with the host was fantastic. Taxi to Palma centre is approx 30euros. The layout and the build of the villa really is outstanding, along with the wonderful decor and artwork. I found the bed and pillows to be very comfortable, however younger members of the group thought the pillows were too hard. We are a family of 10 with a new born and our intention was to have a relaxing two weeks in the villa, with home cooked and BBQ food most nights, which we achieved. During the day the time was spent with everyone in and around the pool area. The garden, pool and loungers were perfect, but the surrounding decking was loose in places, and could do with a little makeover. When doing a review I think it is important to put things into perspective. when you take into account that you have paid for 5 star luxury (20,000euros for 2 weeks) then we should expect a 5 star villa, however it was let down by a couple of little issues that spoilt it. Plates, many chipped and mis matched, same with knives and forks. Cheap glasses with no pint glasses. When we arrived there was a set of rules told to us. 1 only use bottled water in the kettle, this is just to prevent limescale build up, this would make sense. however it costs 20 euros for a new kettle which is a damn sight less cheaper than the amount of money we spent on bottled water for the kettle. in two weeks there would be very little build up to warrant even buying a new kettle. also descaling is an option. This was made even more inconvenient as the advertised chilled water and ice from the machine was broken and out of use, this was a real big one as not only do we now have to double the amount of water we are buying but also the ice, you can only fit so much in the boot of a car and a trolly. 2 please place throws over sofas if you use them, using covid as the reason does not make sense when there are not throws for sofas in the bedrooms. pointless having nice furniture if it is covered up. 3 open doors very carefully as they come off the rails. we took great care in opening the gym door to find it would not close again, we made no attempt to force based on previous instruction , however after departure I received an email to say we had broken the door. Advise you do not open either Gym or blue bedroom door. 4 You have to carry your rubbish up the hill, in nearly 40c heat, this was tough.

Excellent venue for a family holiday

Beautiful, spacious house and gardens with outstanding views across the plain to Palma and the hills beyond. Good size rooms, a superb terrace and a lovely pool. A really excellent rental property.

Amazing Villa

We stayed here as a group of 4 families with children ranging between 7mths and 5years. The villa was perfect - very clean and modern. Children loved the pool and play area. Initially we had reservations about the children with the pool being open and the steep stairs leading down to the pool but the owner put our mind to rest before arrival and everything worked out fine once we were there.

Beautiful Villa - fantastic holiday with family and friends!

I have just returned from Gillian's villa in Son Gual, celebrating my 50th with 16 of us and the villa was absolutely outstanding with the "wow factor" everywhere we turned. It is a stunning property with all the needs you can imagine. It is so vast, there are so many little hidden areas you can go to get away, read, have a wander etc. It is immaculately kept and spotlessly clean. We all loved spending time at the villa, the infinity pool obviously being the focal point during the day and the bbq on the veranda in the evenings. Even so, we had a day out on a catamaran (Oasis Catamaran) one day which set off from Palma, about 20 minutes drive away, which was fantastic; and a trip to a vineyard, Son Prim, about 30 minutes drive which was great. I booked this villa two ago and Gillian has been above and beyond helpful in the planning of this week away. At times I felt I was inundating her with emails, but she was always more than happy to help, resulting in a very special birthday week. It was great having her close by to ask her for assistance whilst we were there as well. Thank you again!

Amazing villa, wonderful location and a superb week

The villa was as stunning as it looks in the photos, in a brilliant location only a 10 minute drive to the airport and 15 minutes from Palma. Gillian the host was brilliant and really looked after us, running through everything at the start, even had some beers in the fridge ready for our arrival! For a group of 11 it was absolutely perfect and we will most certainly be returning again.

Nice house for bigger groups with stunning view

I was there with a group of 14 people to celebrate my 40th birthday. The house is in a very good condition and managed by friendly and professional hosts. For a Five star rating there are only two aspects that should be fixed: we had some electricity breakdowns including the fridges and the alarm and every day early in the morning you will be waked up by the neighbours dogs. If you are fine with this, it is a perfect house to stay close to Palma, the airport and the beach.

A very special holiday!!

We booked Son Gual for a family milestone celebration and we were not disappointed. The property and its location both lived up to the impressions given through the photographs and description. Whether sun or rain - and we experienced both - the owners have ensured that you lack for nothing. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. The fixtures and furnishings were totally in keeping with the beautiful design and high quality presentation of the building. It was at once impressive and reassuringly comfortable. We were a large group of adults (8) and young children (7) and Son Gual never failed to meet the demands we placed on it. What a great location!! The view from the high ground over the plain spilling out over to the mountains was wonderful. It was great to be able to access Palma, yet return to rural tranquillity in less than 15 minutes. In short, this was an exceptional and memorable holiday. Blas and Gillian's empathetic and helpful approach ensured that from arrival to departure we were able to concentrate on enjoying ourselves and not worry about anything else. A truly wonderful amazing villa

From the moment we arrived to celebrate a family holiday we had the most spectacular time. Everything about the villa is as described. The bedrooms are spacious, spotless and comfortable. The living areas are huge and so comfortable. The outside areas are just perfect with the vast swimming pool, games area, the Varanda and the gym. We didn't want to leave the property to visit other parts of the island. Our party consisted of children ranging from 2yrs to 70 years and we all made some magical, never to be forgotten, memories. The villa catered for all our needs. We even had a chief cook for us on one night to celebrate a special birthday, which was just lovely. The owner Gillian and her husband were so helpful right from the start of our initial enquiry to our departure. Nothing was to much trouble for them. I cannot recommend this villa enough and we will definitely be back. We are suffering the holiday blues now that we have had to return to reality. Thankyou Gillian and your husband. .

A beautiful villa perfectly located.

Ideal for both beach and Palma this villa provided us with spacious accommodation and stunning views. Peaceful, not overlooked and an ideal venue for a large family gathering. We spent a week in Son Gual and everyone (aged 5 to 75) had a wonderful time. A special thank you to Gillian for your prompt assistance when we had a minor medical problem.

Amazing Villa, exceeded our expectations !

Absolutely stunning! Best views in Mallorca

We stayed at the villa for two weeks during early May - two weeks was not enough time, and I can't wait to go back one day! During the first week I ran a fitness and yoga retreat for some clients of mine and it was the perfect location. A large and spacious kitchen allowed our private chef to prepare some wonderful meals which we were able to enjoy al fresco on the villa terraces watching the sunset. The rooms are all huge and extremely comfortable with en-suite facilities for almost every room. The villa is set in its own private compound which was great for me to run my exercise classes outdoors - taking a refreshing dip in the gorgeous infinity pool afterwards to cool down. The outdoor jacuzzi is also fantastic. The villa was immaculate and cleaner than 5* hotels - you could eat your dinner off the floor : ) During week 2 my family came to stay and it was perfect for a large group of people. Plenty of communal spaces to enjoy but lots of private room to relax and unwind independently too. During the trip we did paddlebaording, cliff diving and the famous Torrent de Pareis hike (which is incredible). The island itself is a playground for adventure. The beaches are also incredible, with Es Trenc a particular favourite : ) I can't recommend a stay here enough. The views, the incredible sunsets and the wonderful owners - nothing is too much to ask and they make you feel truly special. I can't wait to come back!

Our perfect week......

It really is difficult to know where to start! OK.. the Villa.... Absolutely stunning, amazing and a host of other superlatives that wouldn't really do it justice. It really is so, so beautiful. The position of the Villa looking down the valley towards Palma and the coast is spectacular (especially at sunrise and sunset). You will LOVE the driveway as it sweeps you to the grand and magnificent entrance. Really, really stunning, The pool, the décor and furnishings, the balcony which is perfect for eating together and watching the sunset (or sunrise for breakfast!), the gardens, the level and standard of equipment, absolutely immaculate we really couldn't have asked for more. We'd hired two cars between our group and I think we used them only for supermarket shops... we just couldn't really tear ourselves away. You will feel completely relaxed, happy and at home here. Gillian, thank you for a fabulous week at your amazing place. Five out of five stars... if only we could give it more, we would. We will be back, most definitely. And that view... well, go see for yourselves

Stunning Villa, Stunning Location, Stunning Views.

If you are looking for somewhere extra special to stay with family and friends this is the villa for you! We have just returned from a week with 14 family members aged 3 - 83. As previous reviews state no photos can do this villa justice it is beautiful. The views and sunsets from the terraces are stunning. The pool area and landscaped gardens are beautiful with plenty of comfortable loungers. The bedrooms are all very spacious and tastfully decorated. I had the master suite complete with huge walk in wardrobe and double jacuzzi bath!! The living areas in the villa were beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was plently to keep everyone occupied, books, games, table tennis, pool, or just dozing on the loungers in the amazing sunshine we had all week. The service from Gillian and Blas has been first class with instant responses to any questions we had prior to arrival and during our stay. I have even received the full deposit back within 24 hours of arriving home! Thank you for letting us stay in your amazing home, we would all definitely recommend this property to friends and family and will hopefully be coming back in the future.

Stunning villa, fantastic host!

I can vouch for the previous reviews in that the photos do not do the property justice in slightest. The villa is stunning, as are the views and surrounding area. Not just the ideal holiday home relaxing, our team of 9 spent a week here for a working holiday and it couldn't have been more ideal. There was more than enough space for us to spread out and work in peace or gather for group meetings. Everything is an easy distance away by car, but we barely felt the need to leave other than supermarket runs! There was more than enough to keep us all entertained. Monday morning meetings by the pool are definitely the way forward. Being the beginning of March it was still quite chilly, however we didn't feel any need to put the heating on and only used the fire in the living room (which is also amazing!) Gillian was a fantastic host, very accommodating of our less conventional holiday needs as we were working, and always available to contact when we needed to. Thank you very much for having us!

Fantastic well appointed house

Beautiful house and grounds, well maintained and beautifully furnished. The house had everything you could need for a weeks holiday and more. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious with plenty of covered outdoor seating space to relax in. The pool area is beautiful with plenty of loungers and the climbing frame and swings were well used and loved by the kids. The hosts were great and really responsive to any queries. They really want you to enjoy their stunning home. We look forward to coming back.

We love Son Gual because of its breathtaking, panoramic coastal and mountain views. Set in a rural area yet only 15 minutes away from the centre of Palma and beaches. There really is something for everyone here.

What makes this property unique

Ideally situated just 10 minutes drive from the nearest beach, great restaurants and shops. For those who enjoy a more active holiday, you can take advantage of the proximity of the nearby Son Gual Golf course. However the villa has something for everybody.
