About this property

The recently converted 19th century barn nestles in the farm properties. It has a modern open planned feel with luxury interior design and facilities. You will receive a warm personal welcome here at the farm. We are happy to collect you from the station in the village which has regular trains to London's Waterloo and Victoria stations. We are a working smallholding. You may well be woken by George the cockerel or Prince the donkey, before feasting on a breakfast of eggs and bacon from our own pigs and chickens. The welcome pack provided is extensive and includes products from the farm, freshly baked bread and cakes as well as produce from local suppliers. Best host

Often properties are photographed to look better than they are, with Flint barn, it was the much better than I imagined. Liz offered a generous welcome pack and could not be more helpful. The barn is situated in a beautiful location and the views were beautiful. Would love to stay again.

A fabulous place to stay

We stayed at Flint Barn for Easter and had an amazing time. The welcome pack was incredible, local estate wine, local sausages, bacon, home made cake, bread milk and tea and coffee supplied. The barn is fabulous. Two large doubles upstairs and a single downstairs. Well equipped kitchen. Location was perfect, numerous walks in the local countryside, no need to get into your car, just step outside. It was lovely being on the small holding farm and having the animals around to appreciate. The owners have thought of every detail. A wonderful place to stay

Location Perfect

Excellent accommodation - very comfortable beds and a very comfortable lounge to sit in the evening. Already passed info. on the barn to all in West Clandon who may well contact you for bookings for their visitors to the area.

Fantastic getaway! 6 Star accommodation!!

We cannot praise this converted barn high enough, it is absolutely beautiful open and airy so quiet and a beautiful view to wake up to. before I went I packed a lot of jumpers thinking that a barn would be very chilly but we didn’t have to worry at all we were toasty the whole time. What made it extra special was all the little finishing touches that Liz provided from home-made jam, home-made cakes, music playing in the Bedroom when we arrived, The little accessories that Liz left in the bathrooms and in the bedrooms made it more than five star accommodation. I very rarely write a review but because this was so outstanding I had to leave a comment. Thank you so much Liz for all that you provided for us. Sarah and Simon Marsden

Perfect holiday barn in Surrey hills

Welcome pack was so generous and tasty - great cake! The owners really helpful and had lots of helpful tips. The animals were manageable for us urbanites and gave us a great flavour of the country. Jack the dog was our fave. House was immaculate lots of room in every space for the five of us, great beds, sofas super comfy and bathrooms had great water pressure. Didn’t need anything as everything we could have needed was in the house. Genuinely first holiday we couldn’t think of anything that would have made it better. Thanks so much to liz and John.

Beautiful place to stay in Surrey

This barn is wonderfully spacious with amazing views, has everything you need and conveniently located near Dorking with close access to Denbies Wine Estate and to walking / cycling paths. We really enjoyed being surrounded by the farm animals and being able to see the horses in the fields was a delight. It was lovely eating outside in the garden and we appreciated the local produce left for us (eggs, bacon, milk etc.). Liz is a wonderful host and we would happily return again.

Perfect little mini-moon

This was an absolute gem of a find! The location was a welcome break from city life not to mention the barn itself. We were well received with gifts laid out for our arrival. Fantastic amenities were provided in the most cosy settings. The property is run by a wonderfully warm and welcoming family and their help, their little touches made a world of difference. We are already looking forward to our next stay at the barn.

Wonderful countryside retreat

We loved our stay at Flint Barn, fantastic barn with plenty of space and luxuries. Brilliant location for exploring surrounding countryside and nearby attractions. Amazing house and a warm welcome

This house was everything we had hoped for and more. The host Liz, has thought of every detail - beautifully comfortable bed linen, big fluffy towels, lovely toiletries, extensive kitchen equipment and an amazing welcome pack of locally sourced and home made goodies. A great host - we will return!

What a find!

This is probably the best property we have ever rented! The photos are brilliant but actually it's even better in real life. Liz the owner left us so many treats from the local area - bacon, eggs,sausage, wine ,chocolate and home made cake and jam. The barn is so well situated for walks that we hardly used the car. Lovely outside space and we loved visiting the animals on the farm. Perfect for a short or long break.

It an amazing barn experience

Liz was a wonderful host and offered us lots of information about restaurants to visit. The Barn is lovely and the welcome pack was much appreciated, alongside the flexibility of check in and check out times. I'd definitely recommend and i will be back!

Flint Barn Holiday

Great place to stay, friendly welcome. Cake was delicious. Walking trails from the door, plenty of woodland to explore. Denbies vineyard well worth a visit.

Perfect location

A beautiful converted barn in the perfect location for exploring Surrey and Sussex plus getting to London. We were made to feel very welcome and the barn is exceptionally well equipped. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property.

I would have given more stars as everything was perfect a wonderful stay

Location good for local national trust . Easy access to London and coast not too far. Dorking is a nice town to visit with plenty of shops, restaurants and lesuire facilities. First visit and would definitely go back again. My family and I really enjoyed the holiday experience offered at Flint Barn it was a wonderful escape from city life.

Exceptional Luxury retreat

Elizabeth has a keen eye for design and detail , she provides a beautiful rural luxury experience balanced with a warm feel of being home . I stayed for two weeks over the Christmas season 2017-2018 . On arrival was greeted by Elizabeth , I was given small tour of the barn , everything was set perfectly luxury magazines on coffee table , a welcome pack bacon eggs sausages all produced on site , raspberry jam etc. , even home-made cupcakes . Why did it exceed my expectations well , staying away for Christmas and spending time with my English family is special and I feel that Liz really cares , there was Christmas music playing gently on a vintage radio in the master room , which overlooks the beautiful farm and Surrey hills , and there was even a decorated Christmas tree and tasteful decorations , everything was there so i could cook Christmas dinner for my family , Liz even brought an electric carving knife especially for this occasion . The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and equipped like a luxury hotel , even fluffy white bath robes slippers and a cosy hot water bottle in case . Liz lives next door but manges to have right balance of control vs intrusion . If I was going to give one piece of advice for the reviewers and to be objective , it would be that in my humble opinion it is not a place for a young family , more beautiful romantic retreat for couple or for more mature family . Make sure to check also the terms and conditions they apply as I found out not only for those who stay in the accommodation but for your visitors to , i.e. no children under 5 this could be a small barrier for occasions like Christmas or other celebrations in the house , Liz is very open and flexible but understandably wants the house kept in show house condition . I would go back with no hesitation we had a wonderful restful stay THANK YOU !

Beautiful barn, beautiful surroundings

Lovely barn, very kind and welcoming owners, our favourite part of the UK. We know the area well having lived there for a long time, so we were very happy to find the Flint Barn in the middle of it all. Walks in the Surrey Hills, Dorking, Guildford and London close by. The barn and surroundings are beautiful. Our only regret, it is already booked for autumn half term! We hope to be able to come again!

Beautiful

Wow what a wonderful place we have found. Thank you LIz and John for our stay at Flint barn. We were overwhelmed by your hospitality the welcome pack was amazing !! Bacon sausage and eggs all from there animals freshly made cup cakes which were yummy all washed down with a beautiful glass off wine from the local vineyard. We visited many places when staying at Flint barn, theme parks, shopping & the seaside all within 40 min drive. You have done an amazing job here guys and we will be back without a doubt. Thanks again Darren, Maddy , Chloe & Charlie P.s Charlie is missing the dogs and I'm missing the homemade jam !!

Glorious Flint Barn

30 years ago my wife and I lived in Brockham so know the Surrey Hills well, yet had never ventured down Chapel Lane. Believe me we were both so happy to find that special place where you Liz, John and your family now live. It is so peaceful yet conveniently located, with fantastic views plus your menagerie of animals, particularly your 3 friendly dogs. The barn has been loving restored with every convenience and luxury so that self catering was indeed a pleasure. it is spotlessly clean, maintained to the highest standard and yet remains welcoming. The thoughtful touches of cakes, jams, cheeses etc etc and your non invasive friendship added so much to our holiday that without doubt we will stay with you again. Great location and quality accommodation

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children and thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Flint Barn, so much so that we have stayed during 2015, both in Autumn for 1 week and again early December for 10 nights. Both the property and the surrounding countryside are really gorgeous. We enjoyed many walks to Denbie’s Wine Estate and the surrounding trails. We found any shopping we needed in the lovely market town of Dorking and the train is conveniently located for any trips into London. Flint Barn is a very well appointed holiday retreat away from every day life. The interior is such a unique and special place that is cleaned and cared for immaculately. We found everything we needed and Liz would be helpful if you did require some assistance. Liz is both welcoming (thank you for all the lovely treats Liz!) offering local information but at the same time very respectful of her guest’s privacy. We all particularly enjoyed seeing the farm animals and special friendly dogs but still felt it was our own space to come and go with ease. We would highly recommend this accommodation couples and families. We hope our own friends and family from Australia will have the chance to visit Flint Barn. Thank you Liz and Family for all your efforts to create a holiday haven.

Beautiful

Bit late in writing this review, apologies Liz. I arrived with my sister and daughter the night before getting married and returned with my husband to spend a our first few days together as newly weds. The barn is a beautifully luxurious property finished to a high standard. The glass wall in the main bedroom looking over the lounge and out across the farm is a really nice touch. Thank you so much Liz for all the special touches you organised for us on arrival, personalized hand made biscuits, champagne from Denbies wine estate, located nearby etc. The barn is a great location for exploring the surrey hills, beautiful country pubs and restaurants in Dorking which are well worth visiting. If I had to say one thing it would be to provide an outdoor space for smokers. We had a couple of smokers and it seemed a bit unfair especially at night that they'd have to smoke out beyond the entrance gates. I did notice a couple of safe places that I'm sure would've been no risk to the farm i.e. the patio garden or just outside the front door perhaps. Thanks again :-)

Fantastic Place

What a fantastic barn conversion and so many luxurious features. Great location within some beautiful walking countryside. Welcome pack of local produce was a real treat as was the superb cake on arrival. Only a short walk to the railway station and an easy journey into London. A real find that will be strongly recommended to family and friends. Thanks Liz for a great stay.

Most Sesational Stay Ever

We have lived at Chapel Farm for 12 years and refurbished The Flint Barn in 2014. We run the Farm as a small holding, growing our own fruit and vegetables and keeping some livestock, hand reared lambs, pigs and chickens as well as our 2 dogs, 2 horses and 2 donkeys. We take great pride in our gardens, the orchard, potager and cottage gardens around the house. We love running the holiday let and sharing this beautiful location with our guests.
