Recently refurbished to a very high standard, Clare Cottage is a traditional Lakeland stone built terraced cottage situated centrally in the beautiful village of Ambleside. With accommodation over 3 floors, the cottage provides ample accommodation for 6, it is deceptively spacious. The traditional comforts such as a log burning stove are complimented by contemporary furnishings, new bathrooms and kitchen. There are magnificent views to the front and rear of the property from the upper levels and with all the amenities of Ambleside on your doorstep, including shops & restaurants as well as walks for all abilities, a car is not essential.
My aim is to provide you with a beautiful holiday home you will want to return to.

Fantastic annual getaway

We’ve stayed here on a number of occasions. The location is excellent and the cottage has all the facilities we want. Comfortable living and dining areas. Well equipped kitchen. Two comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Always clean and fresh

perfectly peaceful

My family and I had a great stay at Clare Cottage. With an absolutely perfect location, we could walk to many restaurants within a few minutes. Parked the car for the week and used the buses which were frequent and inexpensive, would definitely come back.

Lovely cottage, clean, spacious and well equipped. It was central to Ambleside shops and restaurants, everything was a short 2 minute walk away. We were a family of 5 and found it very comfortable.

Lovely cottage in the heart of Ambleside

Ambleside is beautiful and this cottage is a great base to explore the Lake District. We had a wonderful 6-night stay. Excellent communication with the landlord both before and during the stay made it easy to get settled in and enjoy the holiday.

Wonderful cottage with fantastic amenities and superb views from upstairs. Based on a quiet road right in the heart of Ambleside perfect for walks, shops,buses,crazy golf, cinema etc Highly recommended.

My review

This was a great spot to enjoy Ambleside. Moments walk from any place you’d like to go in town and the Town itself is central to awesome walks and hikes in any direction. Place was very clean upon arrival and owner was very responsive to any needs. We loved the place and really enjoyed the fireplace in the evening after hikes. Would love to come back.

Perfect location

Great location for everything Ambleside has to offer. As others have noted, getting parked on the street is pretty much impossible but didn’t cause a major issue for us. Cottage was very well heated & cosy. Didn’t really use the kitchen other than for breakfast so can’t comment on how well equipped it is but seemed to have everything you’d need.

Amazing and the best location..

It was just brilliant to stay in this lovely cottage, considering it is in the middle of Ambleside it is so quiet, you have all the amenities in the house, its so modern, pretty and comfortable, the kitchen has everything and there is a DVD player with films for you to watch and games in the cupboard if you fancy playing a few board games. Lovely the fact that if you fancy having a mooch around Ambleside or popping to the local its all within a 2 minute walking distance, plus there is a parking permit for your car and it is relatively easy to get parked. A big thank you to the owner she has been great with help and guidance, the instructions were perfect, definitely one to put on the list to stop again - there is nothing that you could be disappointed with here - enjoy your holiday.

Perfectly appointed spacious cottage with central location.

Third stay for us at Clare cottage which has been fabulously renovated to offer every modern convenience. Beautiful kitchen and bathrooms with under floor heating. Three spacious bedrooms with lovely bedding and towels. Roomy lounge and diner; in fact we bought the same multi fuel stove for our own home following our first stay here. If you are lucky, as we were, you can park two cars outside the front door. The cottage is centrally located in gorgeous Ambleside with the town on the doorstep. Walks from the front door to Grasmere, and further afield. Thank you Jacqui for allowing us to stay in your perfect cottage.

Unhelpful management

Ambleside was hit with an unexpected heavy snowfall and roads were closed and hundreds of cars were stranded making it impossible for us to make our VRBO the first night. Management is unwilling to refund our first nights stay even thou we were told to turn around by mountain rescue

Great cottage

Clare cottage was wonderful. The kitchen and both bathrooms seemed recently remodeled and are very nice, especially the one with a heated floor! The cottage was just two minutes from restaurants and coffee shops but on a quiet street.
