About this property

Beautiful Family Friendly Cottage - Village Centre with Private Enclosed Garden

Primrose Cottage is a semi-detached, three bedroom property, with shower room and family bathroom, and is a very short walk (1 minute) from the village square of St Keverne, with its two pubs, butchers, restaurant and general store. The property is completely double-glazed and centrally heated, with a light, spacious kitchen diner looking out over the large wrap around garden, making it an ideal house for all seasons. We have recently added a workstation (desk and monitor to use with your own laptop) in the quiet second sitting room for home-working use. The Cottage is set back from the road and provides a relaxing, peaceful setting for a holiday on the Lizard Peninsula. Although we do not have private parking, there is on road parking and several free car parks extremely close to the cottage. Please note - sorry we do not accept any pets (inc very tiny well behaved dogs !).

St Keverne is a working village with lots of local entertainment and attractions - including the St Keverne Band (brass) which plays frequently in the village on summers' evenings - you'll probably hear them practicing in the village hall close to the cottage! The cottage is ideal for families and children as the garden is secure and enclosed - making it suitable for little ones. A high chair and travel cot are supplied & the main bedroom has plenty of space for a cot.

The village of St Keverne lies on the eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula just 1.25 miles inland with its village pubs and shops surrounding the village square, and an impressive church spire, at one time used to guide the Cornish fishermen home. It lies within Cornwall's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

From Primrose Cottage, you can explore the spectacular beauty of the Lizard Peninsula by car, bicycle or on foot. You will find tiny secret coves, sandy bays and dramatic cliff walks along the South West Coastal path. Ideal for water sport enthusiasts, the Lizard Coast is the perfect place to indulge in surfing, scuba diving and kayaking, whilst walkers will love the opportunity to explore the historic settlements which litter the Cornish landscape. Just north is the Helford River, with its fantastic sailing and fishing - and home to Frenchman's Creek, and picturesque Helford village. Further afield visit Falmouth with one of the largest natural harbours, Pendennis Castle built by Henry VIII, and take time to visit The National Maritime Museum. West Cornwall is also an ideal destination for anyone with an interest in arts and crafts with the highlights of the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, and the Minack Theatre together with outstanding local galleries and artists' workshops everywhere, showcasing Cornwall's vibrant art scene.

There are a host of National Trust and historic properties and gardens to explore in West Cornwall, including Trebah, Bonython, Lamorran, and Trelissick. Don't forget to visit St Michael's Mount and nearby Marazion with its stunning beach and surfing.

Other nearby attractions include Goonhilly, Flambards Theme Park, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Trelowarren, Roskilly's and the local diving school at Porthkerris.

Excellent cottage in an amazing location

We stayed here for a week. Cottage was bigger than expected and absolutely lovely. It’s in a very small village with excellent pubs to eat and drink. Lovely location for some amazing beaches which are not congested. Will visit again for sure. Thanks for making our stay so perfect.

Extremely enjoyable stay at Primrose

We enjoyed staying at Primrose - very clean and plenty of space for us. The wood burner is fab - makes the place very cosy and also were pleased to be able to store bikes in the shed which was lockable. Definitely looking to return in the summer if available !

Lovely cottage in a local village

We spent a week at this property and it it exactly as advertised. A very enjoyable stay with out 3 children- the play/games room was very much appreciated by our youngest two. The property is away from the beaten track but this, for us, was a benefit. Two local pubs serving great food and friendly locals, made for a more authentic Cornish stay. We would highly recommend.

a very welcome and comfortable break on The Lizard

Our thanks to Jane for making things so easy and welcoming during what had been a very difficult time for us. The cottage was very quiet, very comfortable and spotlessly clean and we found everything we needed in the kitchen to cook for ourselves throughout the week. Having the Spar within a 60 second walk was very handy, and although it’s not possible to park at the cottage directly, the road was quiet for unloading and the little car park was only 50m further up the road. St Keverne is a great place to stay to access anywhere on The Lizard and we were surprised how quick it was to get to Falmouth and Marazion. Also lovely walks in all directions direct from the cottage. It was such an important escape for us and such a beautiful, peaceful place to spend it. Would love to come back…. Thank you

Lovely quiet cottage

Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need - excellent kitchen with every utensil imaginable, cosy lounge, comfy beds, toys for the children and a lovely garden! Very responsive owner and a location that made trips to Porthcurno, Mousehole, St-Just-in-Roseland, Lizard Point, Carbis Bay and Kynance Cove possible within an hour. Rosilly's ice-cream was lovely! Highly recommended

Lots of room

Excellent stay in a very practical cottage. Having the two living rooms and large kitchen/diner was a real bonus for us, especially with the twenty-something kids wanting to catch up on Love Island every evening! Easy parking 50m up the road. Jane is very responsive and super helpful. Can't fault this place in any way and highly recommend.

Lovely property in great location.

Everything as described. Great communications with owner. Located just off the road but less than 100 yards from the village centre. Village has excellent facilities....2 pubs, a small supermarket, an excellent butcher, post office, paper shop, and a restaurant(that needs booking before you arrive!). Car parking no problem. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic Place for a Family

Primrose Cottage had everything to make a holiday relaxing for a mixed aged family. Everything to make one’s holiday as stress free and relaxing had been considered. I would highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back next year if possible.

Beautiful cottage, great garden, well equipped and wonderful location

We have just returned from a wonderful, relaxing week at Primrose Cottage. We were a family group of 4 adults and 1 toddler. The photos really don’t do this cottage justice, the garden is beautiful and wraps around the kitchen/garden room. It feels so private and tranquil. The kitchen is really well equipped, we easily cooked in a few nights. Having two sitting rooms was really handy with a 21month old toddler with us!! The fire warms the house incredibly! The bedrooms are a great size, loads of storage. A lovely cottage, would definitely recommend and would love to return. Easy walking distance to St Keverne’s pubs and shops. A short walk to Roskillys for ice cream, breakfasts and feeding the animals. Around a mile walk to the local beaches and linking to the coastal footpaths too. Great spot for venturing further afield too. Thank you Jane for letting us stay. We loved it.

Beautiful, cosy cottage in a pretty village.

Primrose Cottage is a little gem. It's very well-equipped, very cosy & warm, and very comfortable. We had very prompt responses from the Owner, Jane, each time we contacted her. We would definitely reccomend a stay here. Super comfy bed, wonderful power shower in the downstairs shower room, lovely garden (didn't get the weather to enjoy sitting in it, sadly) and a great wood burner, with a large supply of wood.

Great summer holiday location

We had a fantastic week at Primrose Cottage. The cottage had a great layout, with a separate room for the teens to take over, leaving another two rooms for the adults. The cottage was really well-equipped, even with the reoval of items due to Covid-19. We all absolutely loved the shower in the downstairs shower room and the comfy chairs in the kitchen/diner. The weather wasn't great for enjoying the outdoor space, but we could at least look at the garden. Next door's cat was a great hit, visiting us regularly for some fuss. Would not hesitate to book this property again - loved it!!!

Quiet relaxing trip with 2 teenage boys!

The cottage is lovely, spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable with a gorgeous garden in a quiet village. A nice breakfast kitchen and 2 lounges gave us plenty of space to spread out and the older teens to have their own space. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole place felt like someones home rather than a holiday let. The cottage was spotlessly clean with every precaution taken to ensure our covid safety. After the craziness of 2020 so far this holiday was just what we needed. Thanks

Fantastic week

A lovely property in a fantastic location for exploring this area of Cornwall. Beaches were amazing, loved the ice cream at Roslicky's and was great to have amenities such as local shop, butchers and two pubs so close too. All in all an absolutely superb week away. We will definitely be back to visit this lovely area of Cornwall again.
