Delightful Historic Fishermans Cottage By The Sea In Lovely Conservation Area
Short Term Letting Licence Number HI-20281-F Tanera More was built as a fishermans cottage about 200 years ago and retains many original features. The situation on the shore of the Moray Firth makes it a delightful place to spend time simply admiring the views and the changing light over the sea. Great location for many outdoor activities. Walking, Cycling, Sailing, Birdwatching, Golf and horse riding can all be enjoyed locally. There are some excellent local museums for rainy days and good restaurants to be found in Fortrose, Munlochy and Cromarty. The highland capital of Inverness is only 10 miles away and boat cruises on Loch Ness are always popular. Ancient Pictish remains dot the landscape in this area which is mainly agricultural. It is a perfect gate way to the west coast for a day out to the Isle of Skye and the beauty of the more rugged west coast.

Suzana met us at her cottage, explained how all the switches worked and provided all sorts of helpful information about her cottage and the area. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare meals. It was comfortable and warm and very clean. Watching the water frrom the cottage was really special. Would definitely go back again.

The hostess, Suzana was very friendly and informative. The cottage was quiet and central to so many sites. It was well equipped, wonderful views to the water. We loved it and would happily stay there again.
Great cottage and location for exploring the black isle and beyond. The cottage is very well looked after and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Would heartily recommend.
Cottage was cozy warm and very well equipped. Loads of character and lovely wild garden that the grandsons loved. The beach across the road was ideal too.
The cottage is as per the photographs
It was immaculately clean and in a great location
Great communication from Suzana even though we were late arriving Suzana was their to greet us and show us where everything was
Suzana was a most gracious and helpful host. She made check in very easy and was very accommodating. The cottage is lovely and had everything that we (a family of four) needed for our stay. The neighborhood was lovely and we enjoyed our walks around and the just taking in the beautiful scenery. Thank you so much!
The cottage had all we were looking for - Suzana showed us all and everything just worked - we had a very pleasant stay and can only recommend this little juwel for others! Susanne & Chris
What a great stay ! From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Suzana, we felt we were home. The beautiful gardens in the back, the comfortable furnishings in the house and the ever changing firth to the front, the location is a true gem. We had great stay in a wonderful home that Suzana had welcomed us in to ! Thank you !
Suzana was a wonderful host! We really appreciated having her meet us at the property and explaining how everything in the house works and where to find things. The location was perfect. It's quiet, but close to a lot of the things we wanted to do in the Highlands. Overlooking the Firth was amazing!
We had an absolutely amazing stay. Suzana was wonderful, meeting us with a big smile, great personality, and suggestions for our visit. The cottage is very cute and comfortable. It is in a great location to explore the surrounding area (Black Isle, highlands, etc). We even saw dolphins in the sea nearby!
Only minor hiccup is that there is a washing machine but no dryer (we got lucky and it was sunny so we could hang-dry), but honestly other than that it was perfect.
Everything you need was in the house. Very friendly owner gave us all the information and told us about the things we can do and see
Thank you Suzana, we had a nice time in Avoch and we have seen a lot of interesting things in the neighbourhood.

Avoch in lovely
Wonderful time. The right place to relax. Great host. Shortbread
Wine really appreciated after a long drive.
It’s difficult to describe what a fantastic cottage this is. Charming, clean, comfortable and completely updated. The location was perfect for exploring the Highlands but we mostly enjoyed staying put, walking the beach and watching the wildlife. Suzana is the perfect host, making sure all our needs were met while being highly responsive. I’ve stayed in many short-term rentals and this was probably the best experience ever.
We had a lovely 3 nights staying here. Suzy was amazing from the start - excellent communication and the bottle of wine and shortbread was a lovely tough and really appreciated. The cottage was spotless and the interior was so cosy with a sea view. I literally sat eating my breakfast looking at waves directly out the front of the house. The house had everything you could possibly need. Great wee place and would definitely return.
We couldn't have wished for anything better , except a little more sunshine . The cottage has everything you'll need ... and More . Very comfortable and well thought out , it was a pleasurable break for us on our way North
We had an unexpected chat with Suzy as we arrived a little early . We were immediately made to feel welcome
Thanks for a wonderful cottage ...
We had a great time in a very nice cosy house. We felt welcome right away, thanks to Suzana, who welcomed us very friendly and gave clear instructions and suggestions. The wine, shortbread and beautiful flowers were a real treat. And the service was great; we stayed 2,5 weeks and every Monday the house was cleaned! Never experienced this before in other vacation houses.
The location was for us a perfect 'base camp' to discover the Highlands. Many interesting places are within reach and also the direct environment is inspiring. Only a 45 minute walk to Chanonry Point to see dolphins; of you're lucky and we were!
All in all a great location, highly recommended!
Thank you Suzana!

Why they chose this property
Tanera More is the ideal "Highland cottage by the sea". The village of Avoch has always been a fishermans cove and the small harbour continues to support a small community of fisherman plus a new generation of pleasure trips to see the dolphins. This part of the Moray Firth enjoys a mild climate sheltered from the open seas by Channory Point, and the area is abundant in wild life. The Cairngorm mountains to the south are covered in snow during the winter months and lure out door enthusiasts. Local culture of legend and folklore are on the door step and intriguing Pictish remains dot the landscape. Sandy beaches are close by in Rosemarkie and there's golfing in Fortrose. It's the perfect holiday getaway, yet is only 10 miles from the amenities of Inverness.
