We had a lovely peaceful weekend away here. Lynda was very welcoming even though we arrived 5 hours late due to motorway closure. Nice secluded woodland for the dogs to roam about in. Well equipped cottage and comfortable beds which is always a bonus.
A beautiful property in an idyllic setting .
Very well equipped Lynda greeted on our arrival and was very informative .
Would definitely recommend and hopefully see you again sometime . Thank you
A lovely, spacious property that was perfect for our needs. We used it as a base to explore North Devon and visit friends, and were happy to return to it in the evening. Highly recommended 😊

Lovely well equipped rural cottage within day trip distance of Exmoor, Dartmoor and beautiful Devon beaches. We also really enjoyed biking the Tarka trail. Would definitely recommend.
A lovely location with full use of the grounds which we greatly enjoyed, strolling with our dog around the pond and the meadow and sitting out in the secluded garden when the weather permitted. The house was comfortable and well equipped, and best of all, peaceful.
The house is well located for visiting the countryside and north coast of Devon.
A slight quibble, in that, on a cold wet first day, the house was not warm enough, but that was quickly remedied with the owners, who were very helpful throughout.
Comfortable and homely rental to base ourselves from for a week exploring North Devon and the South West Coastal path. Beautiful garden, peaceful location. Lynda, our host, couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating.

Peaceful retreat
Very rural peaceful location. Greeted with a cream tea and fresh eggs, which was lovely. Clean and comfy, nice added touches like beach toys and board games for the kids, plus sky movies for the evenings. Would highly recommend for families or couples.
The house was clean and fully equipped. It was a bit on the chilly side in early April, but we lit the fire a couple of times which really helped to warm the cottage up. The owners were really helpful, friendly and accommodating, and it was reassuring they were just next door to assist with anything. We had a great few days exploring the coast mainly and the cottage was a fantastic base for us!

Just as it says, peaceful and secluded - hard to b
A most comfortable and delightful cottage in peaceful surroundings and only 10 minutes from Great Torrington. This is a good place from which to explore North Devon and lovely to return to each day. It has all you need and is well looked after. Thank you!
No Place really is like no other place! Surrounded by beautiful countryside and so very quiet and peaceful. Great touristy spots within driving distance, eg Bideford, Barnstaple, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. Would recommend one of the local pubs, The Globe Inn, at Beaford too - great food! We hope to visit No Place again.
Great cottage; really quiet location; woodland and meadow lovely to walk through; v dog friendly; liked the fact that owners have made conscious eco effort throughout; nice touch with Welcome treats on arrival. Would highly recommend.
My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay.
Upon arrival we were stunned by the setting which included woodland, a wild flower meadow and a tranquil pond teeming with wildlife - perfect for spending some quality time as a family.
The cottage is well equipped, clean and cosy. A real home from home.
Lynda made us feel immediately welcome and recommended some local highlights to visit including some stunning beaches and scenic walks.
I can't recommend the cottage, or the hosts, highly enough.

Fabulous quiet location close to Devon beaches and excellent pub. Perfect place for family get away.
Lynda gave a warm welcome. The cottage is beautifully appointed. Very comfy bed and well equipped. We appreciated the Devon scones on arrival . We had free use of the garden and access to the grounds which were lovely with gorgeous countryside views. Enjoyed local pubs and Tarka pottery . Highly recommend. Many thanks .
We had a great stay at Lynda's cottage, she was very helpful and hospitable. The cottage is right in the country side which we really liked. There is nice walking routes and cycling on the Tarka trail around Great Torrington, under 5 miles away. We surfed at Northam Burrows (Westward Ho!) Which was quiet and just under 15 miles away. We had dinner at the New Inn pub in Roborough, really good food and friendly locals.
We'd go back and would recommend if you're looking for a good value, comfortable cottage in beautiful countryside.
Lovely stay in beautiful grounds...owners were understanding that children make noise & as we had 3 with us this put us at ease, I really appreciated that. The garden and woods were ideal for children, in particular the pond & tree house. Cosy cottage and very roomy. Slight musty smell to the downstairs bedroom & some kitchen pots could be improved but apart from these minor things it was a great place to stay. Many thanks.....
The property owners we lovely, low key, helpful and friendly. Nestling into the fields and trees and attached to the adjoining the owners house, this beautiful country hideaway was superbly appointed. Very comfortable, cosy, spacious, all mod cons including fully functioning wifi.
The private hedged and lawned garden in front of the property was in full summer bloom and at our disposal, complete with table and chairs and fire pit which we made good use of, the owners provided wood for us too!
Set within a large magical woodland and wild meadows, along with a large pond with jetty, this private and well kept hideaway had commanding views over the surrounding views over the southern hills and wide open sky.
Winding narrow lanes soon lead you out to the main roads making north Devon attractions easily reachable. We're going back and you should investigate too as it will exceed your expectations.
Fantastic communication both pre-visit and throughout the stay.
The owners are in the house attached to the property but you never hear them or know that they are their.
Their is a cottage opposite with a little old lady in which you hardly ever see, her dog does like calling around "Toby" not sure my little dog liked that as she is a recluse. Lovely old dog.
As I just said nothing around, you can open your door and let the dog just go out to the toliet. Nothing but gardens and fields. The cottage is approx. 3.2 miles away from anything but fields.
Seems a bit weird because you are near loads of things to do.
Reccomend: Tarka trail 15 mins away, old railway walk or we hired push bikes and put my dog in the basket, cycled to instowe and bideford. Both worth a visit, Instow beach beautiful for dogs.
Dartington glass is near, plenty to do and a lovely retreat to go back to.
Everything is catered for at the cottage, cutlery, oven, microwave, heating , sky T.V need to ask owners for code for the films as its connected with next door (same house)
Would definitely stay again.

Lovely whirlwind weekend stay!
We stopped at this lovely property for a family visit in the area; so it was just a place to lay our heads and take a shower or bath plus eat. What a shame that we didn't have time for more than that!
The owners were so accommodating (we had an unforeseen repair done to the car which made us late and they were very understanding).
My teenage sons were thrilled with the property as soon as we walked in and the youngest asked before the end of the first night if we could stay again! And that didn't change; especially once Lynda (the owner) had kindly taken him to meet their dogs and to feed their chickens (he came back with a huge grin on his face as he loves animals).
The property is so comfortable and cosy and has all you really need, particularly in the kitchen as regards pots, pans etc. The bed in the downstairs bedroom is soooo good its criminal! I could have stayed in it all day! (Tempur mattress).
The location is fairly remote but has good links to drive to different parts of north devon and beyond and the garden, which is for the guests' use is really lovely.
So sad that we didn't have time to just chill here, maybe at least spend a whole day relaxing. I really hope that we have opportunity to come back and do that.
We even had a cream tea left out for us on arrival, which was delicious!
We've just come back from 5 days at 'No Place' cottage and loved every minute of it. The cottage is cosy, but not 'small' cosy, because the rooms were all a really good size. It had everything we needed. The grounds are where this place excels. It's the reason we went for it and so glad we did. The photos show a lot, but it was bigger and more spread out than we expected. We went as a family of 4, with 2 girls, aged 8 & 11. The kids loved exploring all the land available to us, all in safety.
The hosts live next door and were very welcoming but not at all intrusive, very nice people in fact. In the cottage they set out a little welcome package with goodies which was a very nice touch.
As in the photos, there are various benches to sit down and relax, swings for the kids, treehouse for everyone. There are woods and meadows to explore. The camp fire really made our holiday, we spent hours around it every evening.
The location is very quiet, about 10 minutes drive from Torrington where they is a small town centre. If you're after food, we went to the New Inn in Robourgh, about 5 minutes drive away, which was very nice.
For a day out, we'd recommend hiring bikes from Torrington to go on the 'Tarka Trail', which is an old railway line, so nice and flat. You can be in Bideford in just over an hour at a very leisurely pace, but the trail itself goes on for miles if you want to go further.

About the host
Hosted by Lynda Partridge
My husband and I live in rural Devon with our pet dogs and chickens. We moved here in 2013 as our own 'escape to the country'. We love the beautiful English countryside, the seclusion and the friendly locals. After holidaying in Devon for many years, this was our favourite area and where we chose to settle.
Why they chose this property
Our cottage has character and charm and is set in the picturesque Devon countryside. It is peaceful and quiet with views from the land across open countryside. It is set in five acres of pasture and woodland. Dartmoor and Exmoor are easily accessible as are the North Devon beaches of Instow, Braunton, Saunton Sands, Ilfracombe and Woolacombe. Cyclists and walkers can also enjoy the nearby Tarka Trail which runs along a disused railway line. Great Torrington is the nearest town (about 15 minute drive) which has supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. The larger towns of Bideford and Barnstaple are about 30 minutes drive away. The RHS gardens at Rosemoor are closeby. The New Inn at Roborough is the nearest pub (1.5 miles) and serving food and local beers.
What makes this property unique
Our holiday cottage is thought to be about 200 years old. It is joined to our own property and has it's own entrance. You will have exclusive use of a garden area to the front and access to the five acres of pasture and woodland and access to our new for 2021 wildlife pond. You can have a barbecue or sit around a campfire in the woods. The cottage has a wood burning stove for chilly evenings and full central heating. The water is heated and electricity generated by solar panels. The cottage is tastefully decorated with a fully fitted country kitchen. New for 2022, refurbished bathroom and newly decorated downstairs bedroom. The beds are both kingsize, downstairs having a Tempur mattress. Superfast broadband fitted and available at no extra cost. Bed linen, towels and first basket of logs will be provided. The cottage is a perfect base for your holiday in stunning North Devon
