This riverside apartment is located in a quiet modern development in the Heart of the City, just a stonesthrow from the Castle Museum and Cliffords Tower. Furnished and equipped to a high standard this is a perfect location to enjoy this magnificently historic city on foot any time throughout the year. Ideally positioned at the confluence of the Rivers Foss and Ouse, this second floor apartment is not overlooked by any other properties so guests can enjoy complete privacy, peace and relaxation during their stay. The lounge features inward opening French windows offering an uninterrupted view of the river Foss and City beyond. An ideal setting for guests to read a good book or enjoy a glass of wine whilst listening to the peaceful sound of cascading water from the nearby wier, or to simply sit, relax and watch the sun go down over the city. Overlooking the 18th century Foss Navigation Corporations' Locks and within the sound of its water overflows this is a soothingly peaceful setting. From ancient times the Chinese have long since believed that it is good 'Fung Sui' to dwell by running water. The apartment features a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, bathroom/shower W/C & Breakfast Bar dining. Gas central heating for the cooler months and a colonial style ceiling fan to keep the air cool in the summer months. A well lit, permit parking space for one car adjacent to the apartment is included. Relaunched to the market after redecoration/refurnishing, the apartment has been listed with popular catalogue based Holiday Letting agency for over 15 years with many of our guests returning on a regular basis. Another lovely stay in our favourite spot

Good private parking place. Good check-in. We love the view, wildlife on the river and closeness to the city. The flat has a good sitting room with tv, radio and dvd. The kitchen is well stocked for dining in, but we never use the washing machine. The bedroom is a good size and has a safe in the walk-in closet, which is a wardobe too. The wifi is good. There are good nearby pubs and restaurants, Indian, Italian and Chinese, together with nearby takeaways too, without having to walk too far at night. The shortcut on foot, through the path and gateway leads to all these places quickly with the old corner shop now being a good cafe/bakery with some very nice cakes! Also in walking distance, near the Staycity there is a Co-op supermarket too.

Lovely view, able to get to lots of places easily from apartment. A great size for a couple and plenty of utilities. Not suitable for the disabled s no lift.

Perfect location!

Great apartment in an unbeatable location with parking, making it very convenient to leave the car and walk into York centre. The accommodation was comfortable, just as described, and the apartment was sunny, quiet and with a lovely, uplifting view.

A lovely return again, to our "second home"

After booking with Wayne, it continued with a smooth check-in for us, with Sandra (via email), It was nice to drive up, park in the designated space, collect the key from the box and let ourselves in, just as if it were our own, home from home, after climbing the stairs to the second floor. It is all very familiar to us now, but we still spot the changes, such as the new kitchen sink and taps, which we found useful. The view of York and along the river Foss from the bedroom and living room we always enjoy watching the wildlife. Each time we see something new, this time it was a kingfisher! What can I say, good comfortable, cosy and warm flat, with an electric shower over the bath in the bathroom; good sized bedroom with double bed, bedside drawers, chest of drawers and walk-in wardrobe containing a room safe. The living room is comfortable with plenty of comfy seating, coffee table and even a small breakfast bar with seats. The tv can be a bit temperamental, but has various apps via the internet, such as Netflix and ITVX etc. The kitchen is fully equipped with free-standing cooker, fridge, pots, pans, teapot, cafetiere etc., microwave, toaster and kettle. It is a nice quiet flat in a nice quiet area, with take-aways, pubs and restaurants all very near. Easy to walk around York from here, catch a bus (bus stops nearby), catch a train or simply watch the world go by from the window! Can't wait for our next return....maybe in the autumn again..Thanks Wayne and Sandra

Good base to explore

We had a pleasant stay here. It is well situated for exploring York, which you can do easily by foot. There are plenty of places to eat within a 15 minute walking radius. A big bonus of this apartment is that it has its own parking place. The apartment is clean and comfortable with all the basic requirements. If we return to visit the area, we’ll definitely see if this place is available.

Good location to all areas of city and all attractions. Advantage of car parking space. Having a Juliette balcony gave great outlook over the river, from the top floor. TV reception not always good, but the Wi-Fi was fine. Perhaps needed more information on how things worked in the apartment. Good Indian restaurant 2 mins walk, early evening menu. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

Apartment is exactly as advertised. Location is perfect, a stones throw from joining the York walls if you wish, also close to a Hop on Hop off bus stop. Car parking space was very handy too, as very expensive to park in York. Really enjoyed our stay.

Another return to a peaceful location yet close to the city

Same good contact with owner and housekeeper. Nice car parking space, although the tree leaves ended up on the car! Good sized flat for 2 people, upstairs on the 2nd floor. We tend to take our recycling home, as I'm unsure what can be recycled there and when. Nearby restaurants and takeawys, plus a short walk to the city, a nice walk along the Ouse. Whilst we were there the walk along the Foss, as seen from our window, became flooded. Having been to York many times, and also to this flat, it feels like a second home, it is cosy. The wifi is good and we logged in and used out Netflix. We enjoy watching the river and wildlife as well. We will return in 2023

Another 2 week return to our York 'second home'. Thanks to Sandra for access and cleanliness. Thanks to Wayne for a new better shower! A good place to stay to watch the wildlife, geese, swans, otters (didn't see any this time though!), herons plus boats and fisherfolk!) Handy walking into town via the road or river. Takeaways nearby and restaurants and pubs. Comfortable flat, on the second floor (top floor) with stairs only. We always feel at home here. Here's to our next visit!

Fantastic location in a fantastic city

Booking process was so simple and the property was clean, tidy and well appointed upon arrival. Located in a quiet location with views overlooking the river and only a few minutes walk from the city centre and a large number of bars and restaurants. I would book this property again.

Return, once more, to a peaceful location yet close to the city

Enjoyed our return once again. Watching the otters, swans, ducks and geese. Unfortunately we didn't travel as far as we'd liked this time, due to the petrol crisis, so we stayed in York and also used the good bus service! Internet was good. TV signal (or the aerial) seemed to be affected by the weather (?) on ITV etc this time. Thanks to Sandra for getting everything ready for our arrival again. The apartment is up stairs on the 2nd floor. The car parking space is near to the apartment block. Nearby there is a good pub with food, the Masons Arms. Plenty of nearby takeaways and restaurants. Also easy to walk into York, especially along the river! Will book a stay for next year too.

Perfectly placed to visit York , 5 mins walk to walls and plenty of good pubs and restaurants nearby also within 5 mins walk , ideal apartment looking over the river foss couldn’t fault it and with its own parking space too , plenty to do and see in the area after spending a week here , I would definitely stay there again next time I want to visit York
