Beautiful Grade 2 listed cottage 200 metres from the sheltered tidal Snowhill Creek at the entrance of Chichester Harbour. With the Sailing Club opposite, and a short walk to the to the famous West Wittering beach, Windsurfing Club, bird reserves and the National Trust sand dunes of East Head.
The cottage is part of a row of former Coastguard Cottages, built around 1833, with small garden to the front and a small yard to the rear. Three bedrooms comprised of double bed, two singles and smaller ground floor bedroom with bunk bed. Cottage is small and compact and perfectly formed! It is cozier than the photos indicate!
Temporary sailing club membership might be available and would require contacting the Sailing Club secretary via their web site. In addition, we have contacts with many of the local sailing instructors. Sailing is possible two to three hours either side of high tide.

Parking can be tight but would request that access to the very end house is not blocked. We would recommend that only one car is used
Please put rubbish into the bind at the front of Nore House Garage / Front Gate. Nore House is the first cottage in the Terrace and has its own drive
Please do NOT leave dogs alone. Barking (as neighbours come and go) is completely unacceptable and anti-social and I will be immediately informed.

Cottage was in ideal situation with short walk to the beach
Our new golden Labrador dog was in heaven walking and running miles on the beautiful beach
10 minute walk to Witterings pub for food or drink from 12 :00 each day
Cottage was ideal for a few days chill ot
We had a wonderful stay at the Coastguards. We’re regular visitors of west wittering and the location is perfect for exploring the beach and local area. A very comfortable and functional place for the family. We would have loved a bbq! The kitchen was a little dated but we spent little time in the cottage as we were out and about enjoying crabbing, beach walks, the local pub and Chichester. Thank you!
We absolutely loved our little cottage … a perfect place for a time away from the hubbub. Quiet & peaceful - with breakfast, lunch & aperitivi in the sheltered little front garden. Cottage well equipped for everything… cooking, relaxing - and a fabulous location.
Four nights arranged around a wedding. Lovely location with great coastal walks. Dog heaven.
Great little cottage well equipped and comfortable beds.
Internet is v slow but probably inevitable being at “end of the line”. TV kept needing to buffer so take books!
Very cosy and welcoming cottage in a very quiet location. A small but well equipped kitchen. We slept like logs in the comfy beds after a lovely hot shower and fluffy towels. Definitely a home from home.
We love West Wittering beach and have been trying to find a holiday accommodation to which we can keep going back for ages and I think we finally found it! As we never leave our dog behind when we travel it needed to be a dog friendly and with good walks/beach close by. Our stay delivered on all the fronts. The cottage was beautiful and clean, bedroom had a comfortable bed, kitchen was compact but very well equipped. Perfect little front garden where we sat and soaked all the sunshine. Plenty of walks right on your doorstep, beautiful beach sunsets every evening (we were very lucky with the weather). We already booked our next stay and can't wait to be back!

Super rental, pure and simple. Freshly painted throughout and with really comfy beds and spotless bedding (how are the duvet covers so creaseless?), it's a complete getaway and on the doorstep some incredibly beautiful walks. A lot of care and attention has been given to supplying a warm welcome for a self sufficient stay. Games, books, Netflix, DVD player etc. I don't think it needs selling but the photos on the site don't really do it justice. It was a lot more roomy and solid than we had imagined and although the kitchen is well used and compact, I've never seen so much provision made for catering ... it was an absolute treasure trove and kitted out by an enthusiastic cook. Nice little secure garden for the dog but we had to heave him out the door for that bedtime visit as the daily walks were varied and so enjoyable despite pretty ghastly weather and we wore him out! We loved it thank you.
The property is so comfortable and situated in one of the most beautiful locations- a recipe for a perfect Christmas.
The kitchen is very well equipped and cooking up a roast beef Christmas dinner was no problem. There are gorgeous walks straight from the door so we hardly needed to use the cars, making this a very relaxing break.
Midnight Mass at the church four minutes away was a wonderful experience. We could hear waves crashing onto the beach from the cottage and when we were inside the church!
Overall the cottage is so comfortable, warm and cosy with decor that was so pleasing to the eye. All in all 10 out of 10 !!
Had another fantastic escape to the sea here. Our stay was full of dramatic storms which we enjoyed from the comfort of this very warm welcoming little house. The sea is a short walk away with a great cafe which we enjoyed lunch in when the weather drove us inside! The beds and bedding are super comfy!
