5 bedroomed holiday home all bedrooms en suite available throughout the year. Sleeps 8. But the villa can be let as a smaller home. It is a compact home and one or two of the rooms downstairs can be closed to make it suitable and cosy for guests wanting a smaller house
Consisting of 2 of the original historical cottages, the Bayleaf has retained the charm and character of the early nineteen hundreds. Although renovated twice, it retains the original oregon floors and beautiful teak shutters. It has been tastefully renovated and has all the modern conveniences.
Upstairs there are 3 very spacious bedrooms all ensuite. The main bedroom has a King size bed and a balcony with amazing views . One can actually see the cable car going up to the top of Table Mountain. The second and third bedrooms upstairs both have queen size beds.
Downstairs there are 2 bedooms. These can be interleading if wanted. The one bedroom has a queen bed and leads out to the garden and pool . The bedroom next to this one has 2 single beds that can be made into a King bed. Both rooms have bathrooms en suite.

Lovely family home in great Camps Bay location

Lovely home perfect for families and exploring Camps Bay and Cape Town. Shirley was very helpful and accommodating. The house has everything you need for a wonderful time in Cape Town. We'll definitely be back.

Camps Bay trip

We all loved staying here, great location and so close to bars, restaurants and the beach. Very big place for us all to spread out and have some down time when needed. Shirley and Virginia were stars and so helpful

Perfect location

We had a wonderful time here, the rooms are large and fit our family and friends perfectly. The location is right by the beach and shops on a quiet road. Both Shirley and Virginia were super helpful during our stay, thank you very much!

Absolutely wonderful

By far one of the best places we have ever stayed. Shirley's place is in a fantastic location just off the main strip in Camps Bay, so close to the beach and restaurants. The house is such a home from home, everything you could ever need is there, down to a first aid kit, manicure set and reading glasses in each bedroom! The views from the main bedroom are amazing, lions head and the mountain from the balcony! Honestly we couldn't recommend Shirley's place highly enough, it's spotlessly clean and in the perfect spot. Shirley is so great at communicating and really has thought if everything to make your stay comfortable. Fabulous!

Family holiday

Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay at Shirley’s beach house. Although being almost winter it wasn’t beach weather we enjoyed the fabulous location close to the beautiful beach and some bracing walks . The restaurants and cafes in Camps Bay were excellent and just a short walk which was ideal as we didn’t need to drive. A great supermarket 5 minutes away was also very useful. Shirley was a superb host , helpful and friendly, the staff were lovely and there was a birthday cake waiting for our arrival- we were really touched by this gesture. We had a superb time exploring Capetown and the surrounding area - the only problem was we didn’t have longer to stay. It was a wonderful start to our 2 week holiday in South Africa and I would highly recommend a visit . Thank you again Shirley

Great accommodation & location in Camps Bay

Nice house, immaculately clean and perfect bedding(and I am full of nonsense). We were 10 people(all family) and had a ball. 1 minute to Camps Bay beach, 4 minutes to Clifton beaches. 1 minute to supermarket and 10 min. to Cape Town Waterfront. I will come and stay again!!!! Cleaning staff worth their weight in gold!!!

Wonderful location plus such lovely owners

My wife and I stayed with our 2 daughters aged 8 and 5 and our parents. We found Shirley to be so lovely and accommodating. The villa was easily big enough with so many lovely en-suite bedrooms and kitchen facilities, and the main kitchen had every convenience you could wish for. Add in the great position, just 2 mins walk from the beach and Pick n Pay, some great Camps Bay weather and we had the most wonderful stay. Thank you.

Perfect Location in Camps Bay

We arrived later in the evening to the villa after a long journey. We were very happy to be upgrated to a larger suite! The room was very clean and spacious with a lovely bathroom and outdoor sitting area. Our room overlooked the small yard and pool, which we took advantage of on a hot morning. There was also a fridge, dishes to prepare light breakfast or lunch. The best part was the location. The beach is a 1 min walk. There is a grocery store very close and many restaurants to choose from. We really enjoyed our short stay in Camps Bay and would reccomend this Villa to anyone!

The Bayleaf, Camps Bay

We rented the whole house for 2 weeks and definitely made the right choice for our first visit to Cape Town. The property is extremely well equipped and maintained to a very high standard. The location is perfect with easy access to the beach, bars and restaurants of Camps Bay and only a short and very scenic drive to the waterfront, table mountain, city centre etc. The garden is very private with great views and we always felt safe and secure. Off-street parking is an added bonus. Our only disappointment was that the pool was too cold to use during our stay but had the weather been warmer this would not have been a problem. Finally, what makes this property really special are the owners, Shirley and Keith. They are very friendly and attentive and are always happy to help with any problems or give advice if you are not familiar with the region.

wonderful holiday

A charming Villa with a wonderful friendly atmosphere provided by the owner Shirley and her helper Mildred. The spacious accommodation was comfortable and immaculate. Excellent location minutes away from the beach and all the trendy restaurants. Advice on wine farms and interesting places to visit was always on hand. We had a wonderful holiday and can highly recommend the Villa

A Home from Home in Camps Bay

Renting the whole house is like stepping into a new home. Not meagrely kitted out for the rental market it is indeed a family home that the visitor has the pleasure of occupying. With six bedrooms all ensuite everyone has their own space and if there is only two in your party the three ground floor rooms can be rented seperately. One even has its own kitchen! The other great bonus is that its only a stroll to the beach shops and restaurants. I can't wait to go back.

A fabulous week in a fabulous house!

Shirley was a joy to deal with and the house exceeded our high expectations. It was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The maid, Melinda was lovely and looked after everything, including the washing!! The house is a short stroll from the beach and some of the best restaurants we have ever eaten in.

Top notch hosts and home

We stayed for 3 nights, 6 adults with 2 seniors. The downstairs bedrooms were perfect to keep them safe. The hosts were beyond accommodating. The South African art and charm of the home was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this home.

Fantastic eclectic house close to beach

This is a super fun 5 bedroom house in Camps Bay so close to the ocean ! We loved the location , the rooms, the ability to relax and enjoy time together in the living room . A fully serviceable kitchen with a beautiful cake provided by the host as well as coffee, yogurt and I can’t remember what else. The hosts were quick to respond and far exceeded all of our expectations. We would definitely return .

Shirley was a wonderful host, very accommodating when our check in plans changed last minute. The property itself was great, so much room, had everything you could need, very clean, unique decorations and a great location within Camps Bay. Highly recommend!

Great Camps Bay home

This place is absolutely fantastic. Centrally located and close to the beach, all the restaurants and the grocery store. Very safe house and location. Huge plus for travelers, particularly those without cars. There is a nice, safe place for a vehicle but we just did Ubers. Centrally located to the major sites. Wonderful that all five bedrooms have their own baths pretty much. We loved the pool. Sure helped with achy muscles after doing table mountain. Comfortably decorated. Definitely recommend this house.

Lovely host. Virginia the housekeeper was amazing. She graciously did laundry for us which was much appreciated. Love the location. The house is filled with whimsical art. Most importantly, the beds were comfortable.

My husband and I were both born in Cape Town and lived here all our lives. We both went to the University of Cape Town. I am a retired school teacher specialising in special needs and Keith is still practising law. I travel to London once a year to visit my brother and sister who both live there. I am a keen tennis player and Keith is a golfer.

Why they chose this property

We bought this house 32 years ago. Both my children were brought up in the house. They have both moved out now and for the last 20 years we have been running this once family home as a guest Villa.

What makes this property unique

It is in the best position in Camps Bay as you can walk everywhere. All guests who stay here feel very much at home as it has a wonderful relaxed feel about it and the house has so much charm and character. It is very safe for children and we also have a pool net.
