Fantastic family home

I stayed here with my husband, 1 year old son and parents in laws. The home was perfect for our needs, providing a baby seat and cot along with all other homely requirements. The back bedroom is large along with a smaller double and twin room. The kitchen was perfect for large family breakfasts. We walked into bushmills for dinner at Bushmills Inn which was delicious and highly recommended. Good stay and a good home

A home from home.

This was just what the doctor ordered. A beautiful home in a great location. We were made to feel at home from the very start. A short car journey from the beautiful beeches of the Antrim coastline. The enclosed back garden was perfect for the dog and the WiFi kept the kids happy! Can’t wait to make another visit again soon.

Larchfield is a cosy, comfortable and ideally located rental holiday property. Homely feel.

We both found Larchfield on a lovely quiet, small, very well kept estate on the edge of Bushmills. Seemingly most properties are holiday homes as most appeared unoccupied. The photograph doesnt do justice to the area the house is located. Away from the busy little centre but only a 5/10 minute walk to a local spar and 15/20 minutes into the centre of Bushmills. In the centre there are a good selection of cafes, pubs and gift and antique shops. Quite a busy little place. Larchfield itself is a comfortable adequately applianced house. The lounge was cosy with a lovely open fire (logs supplied) The heating was easy to use along with all appliances. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable and bedding towels of a good standard. Having the ensuite would make everything easier for families. However the ensuite shower remained cold so made use of it impossible. (Unless we missed an immersion switch, it was not obvious.) The electric shower in the main bathroom operated with low water pressure. So I would say this was our only slight niggle. Although the bathroom felt dated it was clean in terms of grout etc. The garden is tidy and a modern clean design, a lovely area to sit out in the warmer months. Also an open view to the back towards Bushmills distillery. Which we would recommend as a good tour for about £9. A welcome pack of food awaited our arrival which is always a lovely touch. Due to the property accepting dogs and obviously holiday users abiding the rules as the house did not smell of animals and very clean, we would not hesitate in recommending Larchfield to other people for its location to all local attractions and a welcoming home from home feel.

Modern accommodation in a great central location for exploring the Causeway Coast

We really enjoyed our stay here. While the property is inland, it is really well located for easy access to all the attractions, beaches and so on along the Causeway Coast. We rarely needed to drive more than twenty minutes to our destination and often it was much less than that. The house is nicely furnished with everything you need for your stay and it had a sunny back garden when you need to put your feet up at the end of the day.

Well equipped and comfortable home from home

Property was perfectly spacious for us (we were only two though property fine for six). Estate is quiet but 5 mins walk from the town and distillery. Not a lot in Bushmills (no river walks) but French Restaurant was nice and Distillery tour interesting. Well placed for all the things we wanted to see on the coast and inland. Beds were comfortable and property well kept. Parking for one car + plenty of road parking. Space to sit out back. Easy to find. Easy to relax in.

Great stay on the North Coast

Had a very nice stay at the beginning of July. This house has everything you need, it's clean and very well located being a short walk to shops and restaurants or a short drive to the tourist spots like the Giants Causeway. I will probably return next year and hopefully remember to complete the visitors book! Thank you.

About the host

I was born and grew up in Northern Ireland and, as a child, spent my holidays in the North Coast area.
I was in the construction business in Belfast and currently live in the Newtownabbey area.

Why they chose this property

As a child, my family spent holiday time in the North Coast Area. I married a Portstewart girl and we continued to holiday in this area with our young family.
We purchased Larchfield new in 2006 and collected the keys on the Wednesday of Easter week. We installed the furniture we had purchased over the previous months in the next 36 hours, and our first Guests arrived from London on Good Friday!
Larchfield is well constructed and well situated for our needs and those of our Guests.

What makes this property unique

Larchfield has a rural aspect, is situated in a virtually traffic-free cul-de-sac, yet is within a few minutes walking distance of the hustle of Bushmills. also easy driving distance of fabulous areas of natural beauty.
Larchfield and the surrounding area, is pet-friendly with lots of scenic walks nearby.
