Fantastic Holiday Home for Families

We had a brilliant time in this little, single floor house. The location in Boscastle was very convenient with good access to the beaches and Bodmin moor for hiking without beeing overcrowded. The hose itself was nice and clean, with all the amenities, exactlyas described in the advert. Thanks a lot for your hospitality Zoe!

Sea Views, 10 mins from the coastal path

Zoe left us a lovely welcome package of cream tea, tea, coffee, milk etc which was so very kind. The bungalow was spotless and well appointed, very comfortable with sea views and only a short walk to the coastal path. It was situated a lovely peaceful location with parking directly outside. We had a lovely holiday in Zoe’s beautiful bungalow and would certainly recommend it to others. Thank you so much Zoe for letting us use your driveway to park a few hours before we were due to check in, so that we could walk down to the harbour.

Wunderschönes Haus in bester Lage

Fabulous location

Absolutely loved the location of this rental and was bigger than expected. Couldn't fault the accommodation, only niggle was a small bath towel each for a week. I only mention in case like me you have long hair to wash or bath daily. Walk from the bungalow to Tintagel or Bude on the coastal path. Hire bikes and cycle the Camel trail or drive to Padstow and experience great restaurants and seafood. Local vineyard/winery was also great and Breakfasts in the local farm shop. Highlight of trip was Tues eve in The Napoleon, with The Boscastle Buoys, live seashanty singers. We did giggle a Zoe's description of a flat walk to this pub, but in comparison to going down to Boscastle, we see why she may feel this. Thanks again Zoe, your home is lovely.

Summer Holiday

Had a great stay for a week in mid July. The accommodation was to a high standard with everything you need. Great location just a 10-15 minute walk to the harbour although the return journey up the hill can be quiet challenging if not reasonably fit. You can see the sea from the property and also reach the sea cliffs without the need to go into the centre of Boscastle. Took the bus to Tintagel with the bus stop only a five minute walk from the property. Had a wondeful time.

Clean and comfortable bungalow, great for walking holidays

We had a great week’s break at Silver Shells. On our arrival Zoe immediately made us feel welcome and gave us some tips for our stay. The bungalow was bright, comfortable, spotlessly clean and everything we needed for our stay was provided. It is only a short walk to the Costal Path via a very interesting and picturesque church yard, from where we started many walks like to Tintagel, Boscastle Harbour and beyond. The views were spectacular and the spring flowers were out in full bloom. Boscastle village is a 15min walk down hill and a bit longer on the way back. We had a lovely seafood dinner at The Riverside restaurant and many ice creams along the harbour. There is a well stocked Spar supermarket in the village, a bakery where you can buy fresh Cornish pasties.

Great accommodation with easy access to the coast.

A bright, warm bungalow with good facilities and an extremely pretty garden with different places to sit. The bus stop is a few steps away via the back gate (we got the 95 bus to Tintagel and walked back from there) and the coast path is a very short walk away from the front of the property. The Napoleon is about a 5 min walk away, good food, friendly traditional pub. It's a 10 min walk to the harbour where there are several other places to eat, and maybe a bit longer walking back up! The Farm Shop (5 min drive or it is possible to walk) is wonderful, everything we had from there was excellent and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful even when busy. We did an online 'click and collect' for the day of our arrival and went back twice more for supplies. You can also eat in or outdoors. Zoe was very helpful and thoughtful and replied instantly when we had a question. We had a very relaxing week and didn't move the car off the drive for 5 days.

Bright, clean & comfortable

Zoe's place is a bright, clean and comfortable bungalow and we had a lovely week's stay here, exploring the local area. Both the main bedroom and living room are spacious with comfy bed and sofas, plus glimpses of the sea beyond the fields. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and there is useful drying space in the large porch. It was always warm to come back to, which was great in the changeable autumnal weather. It’s in a quiet residential area, was easy to find with no problem parking outside and there is a nice little back garden. Zoe gave us a very friendly welcome on arrival and had lots of helpful tips & advice. We also appreciated the cream tea awaiting us, as well as the decent logs provided for the log-burner (which we made good use of). It was a 10 min-ish walk for us down into the heart of the village (and slightly more back up the steep hill!) where there are 2 pubs, the Wellington Hotel & Cobweb Inn, plus there is also the Napoleon a flat walk away. All were nice places, had outdoors space to eat & drink and were taking appropriate Covid-19 precautions. The Rocket Store is also a great place for some top-quality modern local tapas. Boscastle is well-located on a spectacular bit of the Cornish coast and we found loads of super walks to do from the door and further afield. All in all, a very pleasant place for a stay-cation!

Lovely Accomodation

We had a lovely holiday staying in Zoe’s comfortable tasteful bungalow. It’s position was ideal close to Boscastle with a scenic coastal walk into the village. The property is well equipped with plenty of space for our family of four. Yummy cream tea on arrival and everything you would need in a self catering home. Thank you !

Hi I am Zoe,
I work for the NHS and I bought Silver Shells as my retirement home as I work nearby and love the area, the problem is I cannot afford to retire yet so my home has to earn its keep, and I live with friends. I am not Cornish but have been in the area for about 35 years. I originally came to Cornwall to study Art in Plymouth and Art is something else I want to do more of when I retire. So for the time being I really enjoy making my home look lovely so my guests enjoy it as much as I intend to in the future.

Why they chose this property

Silver Shells is my idea of heaven, I bought it as my retirement home as it really is a walkers paradise and so close to some fantastic surf beaches. The breath taking scenery and the coastal path is a ten minute almost level walk away and I just love taking a bottle of wine over their to watch the sun go down, this can also be seen from my Lounge window but I like listening to the waves crashing on the rocks below. I then walk on another ten minutes and I am down in Boscastle harbor for a bite to eat or listen to some live music in one of the lovely pubs. Silver Shells is also close to Bude, Trebarwith Strand, Tintagel, Port Isaac home of Doc Martin and Polzeath. The bus also stops at the top of the road and there is a shop at the service station a five minute level walk. How good can it get.
