About this property

Delightful Shepherds Hut with Hot Tub

A delightful and well presented Shepherds Hut perfectly positioned to overlook the lovely rural Devon countryside. With a wood fired Hot Tub you can soak away all those day to day stresses.

With no WiFi, a ideal place to escape to and get away from the hussle and bussle of day to day life . . . . It’s up to you to turn your mobile off . . . .

We have our own small flock of sheep which can seen munching the grass in the fields, as well as ponies and Alpacas. We also have free range chickens, laying the most fabulous eggs.

Dartmoor National Park is only a stones throw away, amount a fifteen minute drive, and Meldon Quarry is also a place worth visiting. So for you keen walkers, plenty for you.

Beaches too are within easy reach, 45 minutes to an hour away, for either North and South Coast.

The Shepherds Hut has recently been refitted and is powered by gas and Solar panels giving hot water and cooking facilities, and enough electric to charge your mobile phones. With double glazing and a gas fire. Ideal for those visits in nippy Spring and Autumn.

A compact but fully fitted kitchen with a fridge, cooker and hob. A sink with hot and cold water and all kitchen crockery and utensils supplied.

There is comfortable double bed, which can be made up to two singles if required, with a window view of countryside in front.
And a cosy eating area.

The Bathroom offers a shower and toilet.

Outside there is an area to relax with a Hot Tub, patio table & chairs. Plus a BBQ and Fire Pit. Just fabulous to watch the Sunset.
Firewood included.

All bedding is supplied and towels supplied.

Safe, clean and mesmerizing view

Perfect arrangements and we enjoyed our stay. I really appreciate the cleanliness. Mesmerizing view, perfect BBQ setup. Best part for me was being able to pet the sheep. Would love to go back again because Helen is arranging a hot tub just outside the hut. Highly recommend because it’s worth it. Thank you xx

Beautiful Shepherds Hut !

Beautiful Shepherds Hut . Cosy and very well equipped. Hubby and I were delighted to spend 4 days here with breathtaking uninterrupted views and privacy . Our hosts were lovely and visited to say hello and welcome us but after that we were left to enjoy the peace and quiet and the re-charge we so needed ., If you are looking for quiet and off grid then this place is perfect .

A most peaceful & beautiful location.

The property is, as described above, in the most idyllic situation with a wonderful far reaching view, the highlight of the stay. It is also very pleasant to be around the animals, and the goats in the adjacent enclosure are a delight to watch & interact with. Other animals are also on the farm. We had a lovely week visiting Castle Drogo, a short drive away, & other nice places in the area. Our hosts, Helen & also Joshua who works part-time on the farm were very friendly & helpful, as were a family who were 'farm sitting' whilst the farm owners were away on holiday themselves. The hut is obviously quite small inside but the space was adequate for a couple, or two friends to share. We would recommend it for anyone wishing for a particularly peaceful & beautiful location with friendly & helpful interaction with the hosts.

Stunning sunsets and friendly animals

Myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our little stay at the shepherds hut. It was perfect to get away from other tourists and the bustle of city life. It's not exactly a central location, but the peace and nice sounds of the birds and farm animals were worth it. Speaking of the farm animals, they only really make noise in the morning and daytime, they just chill in the afternoon/evening, so dont be put off by that. The hostesses were fast to respond and helpful, we didn't need any extra help while there. We'd come again for sure

What a view!

The hosts were amazing! They let me do my thing, but were chatty and personable. The view up the valley to Exmoor is incredible! All the baby goats were so cute too. Incredible getaway from the city. Totally gorgeous site. Can strongly recommend this shepherds hut.

Great little spot

Spent a lovely, restful 5 nights here. The hut is well equipped, v.peaceful, in a beautiful area, and I found it a good combo of comfort and simplicity. Didn’t have any contact with property manager whilst there but on-site friends Elaine and Nick were really helpful in sorting anything out I needed. Would happily stay again

Birthday breaks

We had a great time and loved the location!! We did find the shephards hut really hot and a fan within the hut may be beneficial although it was exceptionallly hot during our stay. It provided a great base for us. The only other thing I would say is remember a shephards hut is small my boyfriend is 6ft 4 and just fit in the shower!! Overall great stay just a shame it was so hot in the hut!

Great place

We wanted a base to be able to explore Devon and this was the perfect place for that. We both loved that the hut was out of the way and lovely and peaceful, however we could get to places to visit quite quickly. This was the perfect place to let us relax and chill for a few days.

Great spot in the Devon Countryside

Had a great week at the hut in Cheriton Bishop. Its been done really well inside with everything you need. The view is stunning, and Helen, Elaine and Nick are fantastic hosts - always on hand if you need anything but also happy to leave you to it (I was here to do some studying and it was a perfect spot for that as its quiet and rural). Good bike rides in the area and if you have a car I'm sure there are loads of walks and Exeter is also pretty close by. Can't fault it. Thanks guys

Just too small for us!

Pretty hut, beautiful sunset. Unfortunately we were unable to get to grips with sleeping arrangements in the process of trying to get comfortable I ricked my back and we had to go home a day early. I guess we didn’t research properly, we were too old to cope with the situation. So our fault, our hosts were very nice

Perfect break

We absolutely loved our short stay in the shepherds hut on West Wallaby Farm. The hut was perfect, the setting was beautiful and local area had much to offer. Be sure to visit Fingals Bridge, stunning place. We will return!!
