About this property

Stunning 3 bed/3 bath cottage nr Stonehenge & Bath - Walled garden, local pub,

With 3 ensuite bedrooms, (each with their own TV), and set within a beautiful thatched walled garden, Enford House Cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing & peaceful break in the English countryside but is also within easy reach of many tourist attractions including Stonehenge, Avebury, Longleat, Salisbury Marlborough and Bath

The cottage is an attached wing of the 18th Century, Grade 2 listed manor house (Enford House) and is a home away from home with comfortable beds, good quality bedlinen and towels, TV's in every bedroom, a well equipped kitchen as well as WiFi and a games room with Pool Table, table tennis table and rowing machine. Sitting Room is equipped with a 43" Smart TV with all channels and apps you may want to access.

You can unwind and relax in the cosy sitting room which has 2 large sofas, an armchair, coffee table, lamps, TV & Toy cupboard with young children’s books, toys and games. A well-equipped kitchen has a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob and grill, nespresso coffee machine, fridge freezer and dining table that seats 6 people. A tumble dryer is located upstairs.

The property is surrounded by the wall garden which is situated next to the village church and beyond that fields. WiFi is available throughout the property. Our local village pub - The Swan - is 2 minutes walk away and there are other local pubs to discover as well.

There are 3 ensuite bedrooms, 2 double bedrooms situated upstairs and a twin bedroom situated downstairs next to the sitting room.

The village of Enford is in the Avon Valley - the village is surrounded by countryside and there are lots of places to walk or bicycle. Stonehenge is a10 min drive. Avebury is 30 min drive and Bath is 45 minutes. Train to London is just over an hours train ride from Andover station.

The area has great local pubs. Our village pub - The Swan (see photo in gallery) and then The Red Lion, in the next door village of East Chisenbury, or the Dog and Gun in Netheravon - both are a 2-3 minutes' drive or a 20 minute walk. The Red Lion has a Michelin pub award for its food and is a very well known Wiltshire pub which people come a long way to visit. There is no shop in the village itself but there are local shops in neighbouring villages less than 5 minutes drive away, major supermarkets in the local towns and all the supermarkets do delivery to the door. And for those looking for a winter get away the cottage is very warm with central heating throughout, an electric log burner in the sitting room and double glazing so is very cosy!

The cottage is ideally situated for the following places of interest

•Stonehenge (10 mins drive) and Avebury (25 mins drive) Stone Circles (World Heritage sites),
•Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum and the Medieval cities of Salisbury & Wilton (25 min drive)
•Historic Market towns of Devizes, Pewsey, and Marlborough (20 min drive)
•Kennet Canal (20 min drive)
•Longleat House, Adventure Playground and Safari Park (40 min drive)
•National Trust village of Lacock (50 min drive)
•Stourhead (50 min drive)
•Bath & Winchester (both 1 hour drive)
- London (1 hr 15 min train from Andover station where you can park)

Comfortable cottage for three couples

Comfortable cottage for a group of three couples, with plenty of space. Three good sized bedrooms with ensuites, though one only has a hand held shower. The kitchen was well equipped, including a good steamer pan, and there was plenty of crockery and glasses, and a good sized dining table. The local pub, the Swan, is only a short walk away and serves good food. Room to park three cars either in the cottage grounds or the church carpark next door. Host was easy to contact and very helpful.

Great Property, Great Location

This is a fantastic property, beautifully maintained and with lots of facilities. Our host was incredibly kind, generous (bourbon biscuits and help ourselves to surplus produce from the garden) and hospitable. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Wonderful short break

We stayed in this cottage with family for a long weekend break and it was ideal! Just as described in the advert and fulfilled our requirements completely, from its beautiful surroundings to its warm and cosy interior, it could not have been more perfect. We had good communication with the owner prior to our trip and she also greeted us on our arrival - very friendly and helpful. We had such a relaxing and special time away, we really hope to return again in the future. Thank you

Fab property in beautiful surroundings

We stayed in this wonderful cottage with our family of adult ‘children’ and a dog. 3 en-suite bedrooms made this stay perfect for families and also friend groups as all bedrooms were equally comfortable with their own facilities. Very clean and lovely attention to detail including luxury bed linens, Nespresso machine, cupboards full of games and films, all mod cons in a classic cottage space. Mary is a splendid host always on hand with suggestions and a file full of walks, outings and tips. Outdoor adult trampoline, outbuilding with table tennis all add to the fun. A fantastic location for visiting Stonehenge, Avebury, Salisbury and White Horse spotting. Loved it.

Fantastic.

Thank you Mary & Simon for our stay. The house is real home from home and we had everything we could possibly need. Hosts are really friendly and approachable and very relaxed. The local pub at the Swan is a must for dinner - such a great atmosphere and fabulous food. Will definitely come back if we can and would thoroughly recommend Enford House for a visit. Excellent accommodation and really comfortable and fresh and clean beds. Fabulous contact from hosts and really easy to check in and out. Perfect 👌 Thank you.

Lovely Cottage with everything you need!

I stayed here with my family of 6 and our dog, it was light and spacious with a good sized living room. Games room was great, secure garden for the dog to wonder around, great welcome pack with the history of the local area and great print out of walks and top tips to do in the local area. The local pub a few mins walk away well worth a visit! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend it!

Very nearly a week away from it all

The cottage is lovely, it is cosy and really well equipped and furnished. The garden is fab and was fully secure for our dogs. Not five stars because it is attached and, whilst I knew that and thought it would be OK based on other reviews, we wanted a week away from people and noise and at times it was just not peaceful enough for us. The owners are very discrete and we hardly saw them but there were a lot of people coming and going (cars, cleaners, gardeners, deliveries and cold callers to us when the owners were out) and we could hear the owners moving around their own house, particularly in the mornings and evenings. The road is also very close and again, at times, quite noisy. It didn't spoil it and it was a risk we took because the cottage was otherwise perfect for our needs. Two other small things that might make the stay more comfortable - we had unseasonably good weather and would have liked to sit out in the garden on comfortable chairs and a stairgate to stop the dogs from going upstairs - we achieved it but needed to build a barricade each time we left them in the day. At night we put them in the utility but not nice to be shut up in such a small space in the day too.

Wonderful weekend

The cottage has all the comforts you wish for and is totally dog friendly. Mary is a lovely host, relaxed but also attentive to needs. The Swan pub up the road has super beer and lovely food and the walks around the village are comfortable. We had beautiful weather - we have been here before - 4 yrs ago.

Lovely comfortable cottage

We had a lovely time in Enford Cottage - it is very comfortable and perfectly located near the pub. I’d recommend going to Avebury and nearby West Kennet long barrow to explore. The Pewsey Downs are great to walk on and our dog had a great holiday too. The kids loved the games room with the pool and table tennis. The cottage has comfortable beds and it was nice to rent somewhere where there were a few bits and bobs in the kitchen cupboards and some loo roll and kitchen roll! Many thanks for having us all. I would highly recommend!

A lovely property

Six of us stayed at this lovely property and we had a marvellous time exploring the area. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and we loved how quiet and dark it was at night! The local pub is dog-friendly and only a four-minute walk away. The village is extremely pretty and you can walk straight from the house onto the open countryside. Avebury and Marlborough are definitely worth a visit. This is our second stay at the property and will certainly not be our last!
