The property is just as advertised and provided a very comfortable and elegant base from which to explore. Everything you need is provided, and Eric's son was very welcoming on arrival and went through all the necessary details. There's a lovely brasserie just across the street, and a dangerously tempting boulangerie a couple of doors down. Metro, bus and tram services are all close by and very efficient. A couple of days a week, a market magically appears right outside the door and is a lovely mix of food, clothes and household goods - well frequented by local residents, and you feel very much part of this. The apartment is well laid out so that the bedroom is at the back and is very quiet. I stayed for 2 weeks and felt very much at home and would be very keen to return. Many thanks for everything.

Spacious, bright and comfortable.
This apartment is spacious, bright, comfortable and nicely appointed. It overlooks the treelined street and also the internal courtyard. It allows you to live within a short metro ride from the centre of Paris and enjoy the suburban lifestyle. Local shopping includes a market at your doorstep two days a week. The metro station is just a couple of minutes away. The helpful host arranged a taxi for us and was available for assistance if needed.
We love staying in the 12th! Everything is so convenient from this apartment. The apartment has a lot of room and has everything you will need for a comfortable stay! We keep coming back and really enjoy having the market right outside the door twice a week!
The apartment was quiet, compact, and quite comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen. The neighborhood has ample shopping nearby, including a twice-a-week street market just outside the door. Metro stop is 2 minutes away. A really nice apartment: I would happily stay there again.
The area is a real joy in its sense of a real neighborhood with several good value restaurants, boulangeries, and shops within easy walking distance, as is a Metro stop, and the beautiful and expansive Bois de Vincennes. The apartment itself is handsome and well appointed. Eric provided a warm welcome and helpful instructions. Highly recommend! Nous vous remercions.
We spent 5 nights and enjoyed it a lot. The metro and bus is close as well as grocery stores and bakeries. It does take about 1/2 hour to get into the middle of Paris and it is not walkable. The bed was comfortable. You must be able to climb one level of stars even though there is a lift.
I had a wonderful two-week stay in this lovely apartment. Check-in was very easy - the apartment owner meets you at the location himself. Monsieur Eric was very welcoming and illustrated all the great points of the apartment and the neighborhood. In addition to being a beautiful place, it was well-equiped and a great place to feel like you are actually living in Paris. A Monoprix was a very short distance away for purchasing groceries and other necessities, along with a couple boulangeries, a flower shop, and a fruit market nearby. A couple times a week, there was an open market with delicious fruit and cheese offerings right outside the door. Like many apartments in Paris, there are quite a number of stairs. There is an elevator; however, I didn't use it. The apartment is easy to get to using Métro Line 8; a very short walk from the Michel Bizot stop. As others have stated, the neighborhood is lively during the day and quiet at night. I truly enjoyed my stay in this amazing apartment in the 12th arrondissement. I hope to stay in this charming apartment again when I come back to Paris.
Property was old world charm and very tastefully renovated. You need to be able to carry your luggage up or down at least 20 stairs even using the elevator - not unlike in the Metro. Walk out the door and you have everything at your fingertips as well as fresh food markets twice per week and other stalls once per week. Metro is very close by.
A fantastic flat in a great area of Paris. It may not have the glamour of the Marais or the Champs Élysées or the hipster charm of Oberkampf or Bastille, but Avenue Daumesnil is an excellent location and very easy to navigate, and really just minutes from anywhere of interest to a tourist and the business district for professionals. The apartment itself is even better than advertised in a good building, a real gem very close to the metro and all major amenities. The landlord is excellent and very quick to answer all queries. I will definitely be coming back next time I am in Paris. Highly recommended!
Clean, comfortable, quiet apartment in an area with all requirements close by; park walks, metro, choice of boulangeries, grocery shopping, etc.
Market on the street outside your window twice a week.
Eric met us at the apartment to review all details.
Comfortable, beautiful apartment on a lovely street with great bakeries and good grocery stores steps away. V. close to the metro and bus. And we were pleasantly surprised by the promenade plantee above the busy streets on which we walked all the way to the Bastille. We cannot recommend this property too highly. It is perfect.
Nice century building in a well served neighborhood
Overall, it was a good setup, with a well equipped apartment and we would stay there again. Close to metro and well served in bakeries, small supermarkets, pharmacies etc. If you need to use the sofabed, it is best used for children as the springs in the mattress can be felt, like in many sofa beds. The markets in front of the apartment can be noisy when they are installing the stands in early morning twice weekly, if you are sleeping on the sofabed in the living room. Otherwise, it is quiet when the windows are closed. We informed the owner about the bathroom's door handle needing to be fixed as it would fall off the door from the inside.
Top location for a french experience with city life as well as peaceful lake and forest nearby
Top location. Unit offers all you need. Lift advertised but starts from half floor. Could be a problem for handicapped pp or pp not able to lift luggages. Only 1 set of keys was given to us and that was a huge inconvenience. Bedroom has afternoon sun till late and requires a blind to make the room dark for sleeping. Shower was great and flat very clean.
A quiet, charming, comfortable apartment in a bustling city
The proprietor was easy to work with and very accommodating, the neighborhood felt safe and walkable at all hours, the open air markets on Thursday and Sunday morning offered a colorful and appealing variety of fresh, ripe fruits , vegetables, baked goods, fish, sausage and more, the park just up the block gave us the unexpected opportunity to rent row boats followed by a trip to the zoo, a real treat for us. We hope to return often. 👍
Adorable apartment, quiet with a very comfortable bed and a perfect shower and bathroom. Nespresso machine needed cleaning, but I let the owner know to be sure that was taken care of in the future. Door lock was very tricky to operate. Otherwise, the apartment was perfect. Located in a quiet neighborhood with a fresh market 3 times a week. Close to métro line 8, so easy to go anywhere in Paris.
We stayed at Eric’s apartment for a week and enjoyed each and every day. The neighborhood was new to us but had everything we needed and the easy metro access takes you anywhere you want to visit. We would certainly stay again.
