Magnificent 4 Bedroom Villa overlooking the beach at Alleynes Bay, St. James

Built in 2006 this beautiful 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom villa is our family holiday home. Its prime location on the ridge takes advantage of the magnificent uninterrupted views out to sea whilst still being close enough to be within walking distance of the local beach and facilities. The stunning views are beautiful by day and in the evening the outside areas are fabulous for al fresco dining/BBQ or simply sit under the stars with a glass of wine and watch the cruise ships sail off into the distance. Our villa combines the luxury of Barbados with the comforts of home! A huge wooden deck leads from the house to the pool with gardens to all sides. The lounge area is split level with comfy sofas, armchairs and reading sofa. The entrance to the house has its own covered verandah for escaping the sun. The villa has TV, Bose Bluetooth speaker and a large stock of games and a small library. WIFI is available throughout the property and out on the deck/ pool area. Local telephone calls are free.


Having spent several months a year in Barbados over the last decade I have acquired great knowledge (and contacts) on the Island. Indeed I have written several features for UK magazines (e.g. Rare, Place in the Sun) about the attractions on the Island. I can arrange almost anything for our guests from a complete holiday itinerary, car hire, restaurant reservations, boat trips to taxis and florists! We want you to enjoy our home and this beautiful Island as much as we do!

Whilst a car is not essential it is recommended if you wish to take advantage of what Barbados has to offer and the villa has 2 private parking spaces.

Our housekeeper is a wonderful local lady with a vast array of knowledge and information and included in the rental rates she will visit twice weekly to clean the house, change the beds/towels and generally just ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Guests who require the housekeeper on a more frequent basis will pay her direct for additional days.

Our gardener and pool guy attend weekly.

Oasis of tranquility

Fabulous house with incredible hillside view over the sea. Easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Rooms all very spacious and great ensuite to each room. Housekeeper really helpful. House has generous proportions with covered decking, first floor veranda and large patio leading to the pool. Nestled in a residential area that proved tricky to find initially in the dark but seeing the monkeys playing in the morning at the bottom of the garden was wonderful. Easy access to Bridgetown, Holetown and Speightstown via local bus.

It doesn't get much better than this...

We have just returned from a glorious stay at this Villa and I cannot recommend the property anymore if I tried. It is such a beautiful house in a fantastic location in paradise. The house was very clean and looked after by the lovely Sylvia (the housekeeper) during our stay. There really was every little essential and then a lot of luxuries available to use in the house, inflatables for the pool, lots of card and board games for evenings entertainment, books and DVD's, a super blender for mixing up my favourite Pina Colada's and then towels, beach towels, cool bags, hair dryers & straighteners...the list is literally endless. The house is large and spacious, the air conditioning throughout was a real relief from the tropical heat and the pool was really fabulous. The house is a real family favourite and my Parents and Sister (and her family) have both been before and return time and time again. It was our first trip and I hope we can return again soon. Thank you Barbara for allowing us to experience the beautiful island of Barbados from your fabulous house. 100% recommended x

Fantastic Villa

We had a super holiday staying in this lovely villa. We took our 2 elderly mothers with us, they were very comfortable in their bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms The pool is a great place to keep cool while taking in the magnificent views Barbara was most helpful organising our rental car and anything to make our stay wonderful Can't wait to go back!!

Simply amazing

Me and my family spent two weeks (end of April/beginning of May 2015) in this absolutely stunning villa. Although this review is very delayed (sorry Barbara!), I really would like to share some words about this magnificent house. Our stay was... fantastic!!! The house is truly amazing and the standard is very high. Our whole family was truly impressed by the house and everything it had to offer. The view was amazing, the rooms where wonderful and the location could not be any better. Only 10 minutes walk to the beach (perhaps 15 minutes back to the house though, due to the quite steep uphill road to the house :) Also, the housekeeper Sylvia was extremely helpful and sweet. I truly have no complaints what so ever. Thank you so much Barbara! We'll be back! :)

The most amazing honeymoon in this gorgeous home!!

Well....where do I begin, before we even got there, Barbara (the owner) had helped me out with SO many requests!! And for that I cannot thank her enough, Barbara seems to know everyone and everything in relation to Barbados, and as it was Christmas/NYE season, she recommended we book a few restaurants and trips up, which she helped me with, including managing to get us NYE tickets to the very very popular Lonestar...we had an amazing time...so again BIG thank you. Also a huge thank you to Sylvia the housekeeper, who cooked us a wonderful bajan feast for our first night there...xx Anyway back to the property...we arrived about 5pm...just in time for sunset, and what an amazing sunset it was, the views from this house are outstanding! Every single night I was amazed...even when it was cloudy it was stunning. The house is gorgeously furnished, every single room is lovely...but the main bedroom had to be favourite, with it's private balcony, again...looking out to unbelievable views! Me and my new husband honestly had the best time here....the beach is literally just down the road, and we did visit there on occasion (JuJu's bar was always busy and the little boutique shop on the beach was my fav)....but we preferred to stay by the pool the majority of the time, playing a spot of rummy on the deck, or reading one of the many books they have on the bookcase and drinking Banks beers in the sun. The location of this house is wonderful, we rented a car and we got to see so much of the island, but it really isn't necessary...you can get a bus to Holetown or Mullins Bay in the other direction. There's so much to do we never got bored!! Limegrove mall have a fabulous cinema on rainy days!! Anyway... I just want to say a huge thank you again to Barbara for this amazing experience and I cannot wait to book up again for our 1 year anniversary...maybe with friends this time to show them how great it is!!

Fulfilled every expectation and more!

Having looked at the photographs so many times before our arrival we felt immediately "at home" in this beautiful house. Having been to Barbados many times staying at hotels this was our first foray into self catering. We were travelling with our daughter, son in law and two granddaughters aged 3 and 4 and decided that this was the best option for our family. Well it was just perfect. Sylvia was there to welcome us and proved to be an invaluable friend on the island who was always happy to help with our queries and kept the house beautiful. The furnishings, towels and bed linens are all top quality and I can honestly say we wanted for nothing, every need was provided for. The beds were extremely comfortable, the house so well equipped . The large decking area and the pool were ideal for the children and we just has so much fun. The shady terrace was wonderful if it got too hot and ideal for our family meals. Barbara had prebooked us a 7 Seater suzuki "van" which we couldn't have done without, both to introduce our family to the island and going for supplies to the local supermarket. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both Barbara and her lovely house to everyone and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

"Spectacular Storehouse Gap"

We were excited leading up to our arrival ,as we had seen the photographs and read the reviews, however in reality upon our arrival we were overwhelmed with the property,the location in relation to the beach,the stunning view from the balconies ,the amazingly well equipped house. We would highly recommend this property so much so we have already booked for next year.

Fabulous villa, sunset ocean views from deck

This is a great villa in a great setting. The deck with pool has uninterrupted views over the ocean and it is only a five minute walk to a great beach. The villa was spotless with a very friendly and helpful local manager. Barbara the owner couldn't have done more to make our stay a success, she booked our car hire but best of all recommended great restaurants and got us waterside tables all over christmas. She also recommended a local cook who came to the villa and cooked us a private bajan meal - great value. The villa is right in the centre of the west coast which must be the most convenient part of the island to stay with everywhere an easy drive. I wouldn't stay anywhere else but here if you are going to barbados.

Stunning Setting, Beautiful Accommodation.

From the moment we made contact with owner, Barbara, we really felt that we had made a great choice on our holiday accommodation. She has been such a great help in terms of individual advice on car hire, restaurants, places to see and visit – she has a wealth of knowledge about the house and the locality. Any requests for information and clarification on detail were responded to promptly and accurately. All that she described, and all that the website promotes didn’t really do justice to this lovely home! When my wife stepped over the threshold she gasped and it even left my daughter speechless – some feat! It just feels so luxurious – from the furniture and fittings, the cleanliness, the kitchen facilities and of course not forgetting the very welcome ‘welcome pack’. Step through the lounge and through the fantastic outdoor seating and dining area and you’re confronted with a view to die for. I spent many hours sitting and soaking up the ever-changing view of the Caribbean, and looked forward to what tonight’s sunset would have in store for us. The master bedroom is a particularly spectacular feature of the house - 'facetiming' with less fortunate family members back home in UK left them green with envy! Housekeeper Sylvia is a god-send and another great source of local knowledge – a real treasure – and nothing was too much trouble; she kept the house looking immaculate throughout our stay. The location is superb, so quiet and yet easy to find and so close to the beautiful beach and all that it presents. Local beaches were really quiet for our July/August stay and the sea was so calm and clear. The island is so beautiful and the people so friendly and relaxed – Store House Gap made sure that we had a great holiday – no stress, no hassle and no excuse for not kicking back and relaxing for the duration. We’ll be back.

Wonderful stay - Everything was perfect!!

I would highly recommend staying at this villa!! From the very beginning Barbara (the owner) was hugely helpful and made the whole process so easy. The villa is just as lovely as it looks in the pictures, the pool is brillant and the welcome pack was great! The villa has everything you could possibly need for big family meals (including a BBQ). The location is great, literally a 10min walk down a hill to the beach and if you don't have a car (which you should hire for at least a couple of days to explore the rest of the amazing island) you can get buses on the main road by the beach to the nearby supermarket and other towns. I will be recommending this to anyone I know going to Barbados and my family and I will certainly be back!

A beautiful home to return to year after year!

From the moment we walked down the wooden decking at the front of the house we felt relaxed to see such a beautiful home which we were allowed to stay in. We were met by the most lovely housekeeper "Sylvia" who immediately made us welcome and we had cold "Banks Beer" waiting for us. The hallway to the lounge reveals the stunning view out to the decked area and private pool which awaited us.... what a treat! We travelled as 4 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 1, the property was perfect. Initially the children had to adjust to the steps down from the hallway into the lower lounge but with constant reminding they soon remembered. The bedrooms and bathrooms are stunning and the master is just out of this world, massive four poster bed with private balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea! All have air conditioning as does the lounge which we found a necessity. The kitchen is very very well equipped it has everything and more that you would want and need in order to cook if you choose to, there is also a dishwasher. The house comes with books, games, DVD's and a music system. There are pool inflatables for your use and lovely outdoor sun-loungers on the decked area along with beach-towels. The pool is a perfect size and depth with the most amazing ridge view over the sea, we happily sat out watching the sun set with a Baileys and Banks. Barbara the owner is so wonderful and welcomes you to her home even though she is in the UK, she treated us like family and we have kept in touch since, nothing is too much trouble for her. Location wise the beach is a 5 minute walk down but a little longer back as there is a hill which is not unreasonable (my husband easily carried our eldest and it took him 7 minutes), the beach is stunning and Holetown is only a few minutes in the car. My Dad spent most of his time at "John Moores Bar" which is only a few minutes away also. The "Lone Star" Restaurant is literally at the end of the road, amazing food! My husband and I have been trying to think about anything negative so we can write a totally balanced review but the only negative was on our last day when we sadly had to leave this wonderful house and return to the freezing UK. Our girls love the Island as do we and we have been travelling to Barbados since 1995, this is the first house we would be happy to return to and hope to during 2013.

Fantastic stay at this property!

We had a most wonderful vacation at this beautiful home. Each of the three bedrooms has its own en suite bathroom, which was a huge plus for our group of six. The location is very central with access to beaches two minutes away, the views from the pool deck are spectacular, the kitchen is very well equipped too. We had a very special stay here and thank you for sharing your home with us!

Family vacation

Barbara’s home was perfect for our family vacation. We enjoyed the pool, views, porch, beach and local restaurants. The house was perfect for all of us to have our own space! We loved Barbados and would love to visit again.

Family memorial

This was a trip to memorialize my in-laws. They wanted the family to travel to Barbados together after their passing. In spite of the sad circumstances we had a great time. The house is beautiful. Barbados is not commercialized and the people are great. Very relaxing and fun.

Amazing

Our trip to Barbados was way more than we ever expected! The house was perfect. We had three couples with ample space, the views of the ocean were stunning and it was set in a peaceful neighborhood. The house manager was easily accessible throughout our stay. The only downfall of the house is location if you mind driving 30 minutes to get to different beaches/restaurants. We rented a car and really enjoyed our adventures driving around the island so it was perfect for us!!

A perfect vacation!

My vacation with friends in Barbados was absolutely amazing and our stay here was a huge reason why it was the perfect trip. The house was very clean, nicely decorated, and fully stocked with everything needed to relax, swim, enjoy home cooked meals, and spend days at the beach and sightsee. Friendly neighbors and a beautiful beach are within walking distance (Rico’s and Ju Ju’s are a must). The grocery store, several wonderful restaurants, shopping, etc. are all conveniently located and just a short car ride away. To really see all the island has to offer (highly recommend) renting a car is a must! Thank you so much to Barbara, the property owner, for sharing your home and making check in/out and everything about the house amazing. And thank you Sylvia, the housekeeper, for being there to greet us when we arrived and helping us feel even more at home with your hospitality and helpfulness.

Family Vacation

The house was beautiful and comfortable. We had some difficulty in finding the house with the address provided but we did eventually get there. If a landmark such as the LoneStar restaurant was provided this came up easily on Google maps. Simple directions to the house from there would have made it a lot less stressful in finding the house. We were a family of 8 with 2 small children - they loved the pool and everyone was very pleased with the accommodations. Sylvia was at the house waiting for us when we arrived and was very welcoming. The location was great - near many nice upscale restaurants and the beach was right down the hill from the house. I would recommend water shoes since there are lots of rocks in the water and a little tough on small feet. Overall this was a memorable vacation and thank you to Barbara for the use of her lovely home.

Dining out and lazing on the beach are a great way to enjoy Barbados but dining out on your own verandah and lying by your own pool whilst soaking in our fantastic view are the best way to enjoy Barbados. Thats what No1 is ... not a holiday let but your own home for the duration of your stay. Careful planning and communication with my guests means the holiday is tailored to their specific needs whether I am booking the best waterside table at a top class restaurant for a honeymoon couple, arranging baby equipment for families or that special private catamaran cruise for a 60th birthday celebration. I want for my guests what I want myself - a relaxing enjoyable vacation which will create memories that last a lifetime.
