The property is lovely and has been sympathetically decorated and furnished in keeping with the age of the property.
Billy was easy to communicate with and helpful and friendly.
The cottage can be hard to locate for some taxi drivers, but Billy was on the end of the phone and this helped.
My daughter felt the bed was creaky!
Property was fine and covered our needs but was not as clean as I would expect, particularly the bathroom. The instructions for check in and finding property were great and needed! Given that rubbish has to be left in the garden shed was disappointed at the lack of upkeep but eh garden and the very long grass that had to be waded through to each the bins. Some minor maintenance and would be much inproved
If you love period properties & books, this will be a perfect holiday home for you. So many books!
We loved staying here, the decor and books made it really homely. The walks in to town, or Sandymount or Lansdowne are all easy, and the nearby docklands are a treat. The eateries recommended by Billy were fabulous, Crudo in particular.
This was a lovely place to stay and so interesting near the port and steeped in history. We loved it. Bear in mind, though, that it is quite a walk to the city centre - it took us about 45 minutes going the shortest route. However, we found plenty of car parks in the centre and the price for day was reasonable. The house itself has been lovingly restored and looked after, with everything you need cooking wise etc. for a comfortable stay. Don’t bother bringing books as there are plenty in the house - good reading for all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Absokutely exquisite house beautifully furnished with no expense spared on the detail. Great location for walks into Dublin or trips to he Coast. Would thoroughly recommend!
We had an excellent few days staying in this very characterful and comfortable cottage. We were extremely lucky with the weather, which meant that the walk across the park to the bus-stop for Dublin was very nice.
It's a pleasant enough property with a downstairs bathroom. It's right by the docks - you can see the cranes working just over the road - though this isn't a problem and there's no noise. It's a mile walk to the tram and about a ten minute walk to the bus into the city. The property does need some modifications. The mattress on one of the beds has seen better days, the chairs are great for formal sitting though not for relaxing and the TV is very small for passing a wet afternoon. The kitchen is modern and well designed and everything was there that we needed. There was a mouse 'deterrent' in one of the bedrooms and a mouse did appear. I contacted the owner who assured me this had never happened before and he was willing to refund our last night's stay if we found and moved to another property. This wasn't really practical as we were racing the next day Sunday and there wasn't time to find anywhere else on Saturday evening. Not best pleased at this turn of events.
An extraordinary location, very quiet and which we found with very convenient and easy access to Dublin Centre. The cottage is comfortable and livable and full of interest in itself. Finding it was a bit of a struggle as Pigeon house road is in two bits and Sat nav could not cope with OLD Pigeon House Road.. and we came from the South not from the Airport. A map of of access to local transport and shops would be a great help.
Very many thanks we had a super time.

Really enjoyable stay
Really enjoyable stay in a very stylish property. Relaxing and surprisingly very quiet given the proximity of the docks. Sandymount is a good nearby destination for a bracing walk and buses in to town are a short walk away in Ringsend.

Absolutely Stunning Property Extremely Comfortable & Close to All Amenities
We were 2 couples staying at the property for a weekend. The property is absolutely stunning with all your home comforts and more. Extremely clean - very comfortable 2 double beds - it was a cold weekend and Billy the owner had prepared the open fire for our arrival - and had put the heating on too. What a treat - there was a well stocked log pile as well. :) Will definitely be going back for another visit to Dublin and hope to stay at the Cottage again if its not already booked. Thoroughly recommend staying there whilst visiting Dublin.
I stayed in this lovely cottage on St. Paddy's Weekend with three other friends. During such a busy time, this place was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood which was a nice break at times. The host was very communicative and helpful beforehand and during our stay which we appreciated! Overall, if you're looking for a great option on a busy weekend, I would highly recommend it!
We really enjoyed our stay here. I like the quiet location, but yet close enough to the city centre that we could walk. We'd walk to the Dockland shop area for breakfast, then continue walking into the city centre for our destinations. We also found it to be a safe location. Maybe all of Dublin is, but even the neighbors reassured us.
The house itself was perfect, nice bedrooms, and living space. No couch, and tiny TV, but we didn't come to Dublin for that :)
Also, the garden was not in bloom, so the photo shows differently than online. I'd still stay here again, having parking in Dublin so we could take day trips further out was easy.
Wonderful cottage within walking distance to the park, pubs and restaurants. The bus stop is just a few minutes' walk to catch the bus into Dublin City. The cozy fireplace was perfect for a relaxing nightcap. Highly recommend this place!
We stayed at this property for 3 nights. The host was responsive to messages and allowed us to check in early, which was very gracious. He said he had communicated with housekeepers and it was ready to go. Upon arrival, there was a pile of laundry in the entrance and the beds were stripped of sheets. We chalked this up to miscommunication and the price of checking in early, no problem. The only other issue was we were only given 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 days, so we had to buy some. However, these issues were small and not a big deal. Overall, the accommodations were lovely and cozy. We so enjoyed sitting by the fireplace and the coastal location. The house was filled with lots of neat art and more books than you could ever ask for. It was clean and well kept. A great stay overall!
We came to Dublin for the Marathon in October. We were delighted with Billy’s cottage. It is exactly as described. Billy’s information and instructions are clear and accurate. Checking in was a breeze. The cottage is filled with character and charming details. The beds are so cozy and the fireplace is an especially lovely feature. It was easy to use the bus - especially the S2. We were very happy with the comfort and value of the accommodation.
This is a thoughtfully restored cottage with an interesting history in a neighborhood that is transitioning as homeowners re-establish period dwellings. It is well stocked with basic necessities. Host provides an abundance of firewood which we appreciated as there is a lovely fireplace in the living area that provides a cozy place to rest after a busy day sightseeing.
We chose to ditch the car while in Dublin. The bus was an easy 15 minute walk away. Alternatively, taxis had no problem finding us. Property is directly across from a working dockyard, so there is a little noise, but it was quiet at night. If the weather is fine, there is a private detached garden that is very nice.
The back of this picturesque cottage faces the street, so you need to walk around to the other side of the building to access the entrance. It is well-lit at night.
William is an attentive host. We were having problems with the eSIMs in our phones, so texting was problematic, but William used all the other modes of communication to make sure we received his careful, detailed information and instructions.

Cottage in Dublin
The owner of the property provided good communication. The pictures of the home make it appear much larger than it is. There is no couch to sit on and the chairs downstairs are uncomfortable. Very challenging for a family of 4. The garden is a weed patch. I have photos and was really disappointed. It could be a lovely spot. The cottage is a 15 minute at least drive downtown and is across the street from a shipyard. Shipyards work 24/7 so it is a bit noisy.
We loved our time here! The taxi driver had a hard time finding it but william sent me detailed instructions before we arrived so i was able to tell the taxi driver how to get to the property. We loved the location. We loved being right by ringsend park. We walked to and from city center every day, it took about 40 mins but we loved it.
The Coastguard Station cottage is very charming and a great fit for two adults, offering each their own room with comfy bed. I was able to prepare simple meals in the kitchen that had everything I needed, including multiple ways to brew a fine cup of coffee (always a plus in my book). Interestingly enough, the location of the cottage turned out to be a gift. While it’s close to the working port, it was surprising quiet; it seemed much quieter than other Dublin neighborhoods I explored (e.g., Stoneybatter, St. Stephens Green). It was easy to catch a bus (S2 and C2) to the city center, nearby Sandymount for groceries and restaurants and Sandymount Beach for a walk. Billy was a fine host, providing just the right information.
