Beautiful area!

The surrounding area was absolutely stunning and very peaceful - perfect to 'get away from it all'. Albeit the cottage is on a 'main road' it is not a busy road, the busiest time was morning and evening rush hour but even then it wasn't continual! There are no shops, pubs etc within walking distance, I think the nearest shops were in Stow on the Wold, about a 10 minute drive away. Personally this is not a bad thing - it just adds to the peacefulness of the cottage and surrounding countryside! The cottage itself is full of potential but, sadly, it is looking very tired and in need of some TLC. We were not happy with a number of things, including the overall cleanliness, clutter in every room and the appearance of general lack of care. I have been in touch with the property management company and they have assured me that it will be looked into! It is a lovely area and could be a lovely place to stay but, would we stay there again? For what we paid for the week and the state it was in, sadly not.

Some minor changes needed!

Various small factors combined to disappoint us with the overall quality of the stay. Main problem was the twin beds in the second bedroom. Both had broken or missing slats and neither was really suitable for anything other than children or small adults. We reported the issue first thing next day and a makeshift repair was carried out the same day by having boards placed over the slats. This left the beds usable but uncomfortable. There was no Welcome / Instruction book. We had to work out how to use the oven as there were no instructions and it was stuck on timer mode. The microwave plate still had remains of food on it, as had one of the frying pans (which also has a loose handle). On the plus side: Loved the instant hot water for the shower and the big bath towels. Good location for Cotswolds.

Snow in the Cotswolds

Reasonable location but no pub or shops in walking distance. Being on a main ‘B’ road is no issue as not very busy. Everything you need is provided. Snowed with sub- zero temperatures for over a week but heating and open fire were more than adequate to keep the cottage Lovely and warm. Nice views over fields from one bedroom but other bedroom, lounge and kitchen no views at all. The Christmas tree was a nice touch and welcomed. Water pipe that drains the bath froze in the cold and needs to be lagged. The 2 single beds in the second bedroom are quite small and really designed for children (mattresses on slats). Bed in main bedroom only a double not queen/king size. Although I believe originally built in 1800’s it is not a ‘character’ property. Pricing on the high side considering no local amenities, views and quality of furniture and fittings. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Hier sollte dringend etwas geschehen! Bei Bedarf kann ich einige Fotos senden.
