About this property
Dunsdale House - Four Bedroom House, Sleeps 8
Planning to escape a 24/7 routine? We have the answer… grab your walking boots and step into a world packed with wildlife, flora and fauna, a natural landscape with spectacular scenery and night skies free from pollution.
Dunsdale House is a traditional 5* period property in a fabulous location with country style interiors. A renovated farmhouse which can accommodate 8 guests in 4 bedrooms. The beautiful period sitting room has an open fire and the dining room has a large table which seats 10. The country style continues into the farmhouse kitchen with dual fuel Lacanche range and there’s a large utility room should you need to do any laundry during your stay. Upstairs, the bedrooms are beautifully furnished with wooden frame beds with traditional quilts and chests of drawers. Outside, Dunsdale House has a lovely large and enclosed garden with table and chairs, the perfect spot to enjoy a barbeque and soak up the countryside views.
Dunsdale House stands at the foot of the Cheviot Massif in the National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. This is a designated Dark Sky Park where the only night light is from the moon and stars. Wildlife is excellent too, look out for wild goats, deer, peregrine, red grouse, ring ouzel, buzzards, ravens, kestrels and red squirrel. Fishing, golfing, riding available nearby. Visit historic houses, gardens, churches and castles or head off to the coast - a short drive away and stroll along the beautiful beaches. Back at the hours there are four challenging circular Hillfort Trails in the College Valley - Hethas Hike, Ring Chesters Round, Four Forts Foray and the River and Ramparts Ramble on the doorstep or you could of course just wander down to the stream.
Dunsdale House Mill can be booked with Coldburn Cottage, The Mill and The School House. It is possible to book the whole Valley for events.
