About this property

Asheville's luxury treehouse!

The Treehouse is close to all that Asheville has and is only minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. You’ll love the ambiance, the outdoor space, and the comfortable accommodations. It is spacious; the largest treehouse on the east coast, and cozy and ultra comfortable. The treehouse is a good for couples, writers, painters, families, and furry friends (pets). My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).

Come experience the magic of being being held in the arms of hundred year old trees surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Treehouse is build of quality materials and is a masterpiece of artistic design and skilled ability. Unique designs from nature are incorporated at every angle.

The fully equipped kitchen, complete with chef's knives and copper cookware, will delight every gourmet cook. Grill masters will be happy to grill on the gas grill on the deck, and others can use the micro -wave/convection oven.

No window treatments to block the view. Out of the windows each of the four seasons can be observed.

•Winter - the forest has a fresh coat of leaves carpeting her floor. The long range views are specular with the mountains turning a beautiful pink to purple as the sunset reflects against the trees.
•Spring - the mountains "green up" as the days grow longer. In the warmer valley the leaves come out first, then you can watch every day as the mountains green up!
•Summer - Thick green leaves. We have more varieties of trees than anywhere outside of the Amazon!
•Fall - Specular. Colors, colors, colors. Cool nights and warm days. Fabulous.

Guests have the entire house, decks and can meander down the hill to the little creek shared with other guests at the Carolina Jewel.

We love to meet and greet our guests when possible.
Please inquire about pets, we love our fur babies of the canine variety but do limit the number and size of dogs. There is a pet fee of 75 per pet.

Amazing experience

My family of 4 had such an amazing stay in the treehouse. It was clean and comfortable. The fireplace made it extra cozy. There is something extraordinary about getting to stay in a treehouse in the mountains. We loved the amenities provided and the recommendations by the host were perfect. We hiked, zip lined, and ate our way through our visit. Thank you for sharing you spectacular place with our family to make memories that will last forever.

New Years Mountain Getaway

What a magical and beautiful place to stay. It was the perfect place for a family of four (2 kids) and our fur baby. It was great during this pandemic to have all the amenities we needed to cook/grill, a wonderful deck, in a peaceful setting. We would love to return.

A Little Piece of Heaven

Cannot compliment our recent stay at the Carolina Jewel enough . Our hosts provided an amazing check in experience and kindly provided a tour of the property. Not only was the home charming but luxuriously appointed and immaculate. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in the treetops and hope to return. Highly recommended!

Amazing Treehouse

My family stayed here in April for Spring Break. This place was amazing. It had everything that you need to have a relaxing stay. We spent a lot of time just hanging out at the treehouse. My seven year son loved this place. He spent lots of time in the hammock, playing in the crows nest and running around the wrap around deck. He did not want to leave. You can tell that the owners have put a lot of special details into the treehouse and that they take great care of it. It’s more like a treehouse castle. We enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend it. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

Highlight of Our Vacation

This tree house is amazing. The attention to detail was evident from the tiniest ....(makeup remover cloths) to the most obvious.... (adjustable bed with massage). Eva and Michael have thought of everything, and that is just comfort, now on to the design.... Unique, luxurious, and Eco-friendly, the Treehouse is stunning. It brought out the kid in you AND restored the adult soul at the same time. We've stayed in many beautiful places but this one was truly memorable. Do not hesitate to stay there if you are lucky enough to find availability on your dates!!!

Amazingly stunning!

I can not express enough in words how enjoyable the stay was for us in the Carolina Jewel! The treehouse is like something out of a fairy tale novel and my husband and I felt like a prince and a princess in it. The architecture is very impressive as well as the accommodations and amenities. The amount of time and concern expressed by Eva to make sure we had the most pleasurable stay possible was well beyond our expectations. She made some awesome recommendations in regards to restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions that were very helpful and the ones we actually tried were great! We definitely commend the hospitality and help shown to us by Eva, Michael, and Abby and I can not express enough how much it meant to us both and we will always remember them for that and definitely this trip! It was truly a trip of a lifetime and we hope to stay again in the near future! I highly, highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates all the above statements, as well as a relaxing stay under the trees and in a treehouse!

Wonderful!

We loved our stay at the Carolina Jewel! Eva and Michael are wonderful hosts . The tree house has everything you need to feel right at home . Everything is top notch ! The pictures do not do this magical place justice . Eva put together a list of restaurants and activities she thought we would enjoy while visiting . We especially loved our time with Curtis Wright outfitters in Weaverville. You can go on fly fishing adventures and experience falconry . My 11 year old son loved the up close experience with the hawks. Other outdoor activities enjoyed are zip lining , hiking trails , visiting outdoor parks and there and white water rafting or river floats that is not too far away. Asheville is just a 10 minute drive and has wonderful shops , restaurants , galleries and the Biltmore . Downtown Weaverville is very nice with some great places to eat . One last thing ...,, I have to comment on the sleeping arrangements . I was skeptical when I saw there was a sleeper sofa and only one bed as we are pretty picky about mattresses. This sofa bed was like no other sleeper bed . It was so comfortable!! . The upstairs has a queen tempurpefic adjustable bed with massage . There is also an air mattress available if needed. We look forward to returning in the future !

Amazing charming treecastle!

My family spent the Thanksgiving break in this lovely treecastle. We were looking for a low key, "hang out in a cabin, read, etc" mood and this delivered that experience in spades. We rotated who got use of the loft at the top of the castle for reading and taking in mountain views. The treecastle is full of clever details and great use of space and all of the finishes are top notch. And hey, it's also a magical experience bring in a treecastle :) Sleeping: We are a family of 4 with one boy and girl. My wife and I took the upstairs queen bed and son slept on the sleeper couch (a very nice sleeper couch) downstairs. The sleeper couch could easily sleep two but our kids won't split a bed. Fortunately there is also an air mattress provided my daughter used. Details: full kitchen with all of the pots pans and casserole dishes you might need. Kueurig coffee maker, outdoor gas grill. Deck has a couple of great rocking chairs to sit outside and take in the mountain views. Just so your expectations are clear: this is a treehouse and isnt a 3000sqft cabin. It puts a whole lot of awesome in a condensed space in a tree. Sound transfers throughout and we could easily hold conversations between upstairs and down. This all worked fine for us but if your family needs more isolation from each other you might consider more traditional accommodation. For us, the treehouse was awesome and we hope to return!

About the host

Host profile image
Michael and Eva are Asheville natives and couldn't be happier to call Asheville home. They purchased the old farmhouse and cottage and transformed it in the "Carolina Jewel" . Fast forward a couple of years and the dream of building a treehouse became reality.

Why they chose this property

This property is located in one of the most beautiful valleys in North Carolina. The stream that runs at the bottom of the hills is music to my ears! In addition, the birds are amazing! Have you ever listened to the sound of a wood thrush? It is mystical and enchanting, usually only singing in the late summer afternoon.

What makes this property unique

The unique feeling of being supported and surrounded by the trees and then by the mountains is magical. The Treehouse is build of quality materials and is a masterpiece of artistic design and skilled ability. Unique designs from nature are incorporated at every angle.

The fully equipped kitchen, complete with chef's knives and copper cookware, will delight every gourmet cook. The non-cooks will be glad to grill on the gas grill on the deck or use the micro -wave.

No window treatments to block the view. Out of the windows each of the four seasons can be observed.

Winter - the forest has a fresh coat of leaves carpeting her floor. The long range views are specular with the mountains turning a beautiful pink to purple as the sunset reflects against the trees.

Spring - the mountains "green up" as the days grow longer. In the warmer valley the leaves come out first, then you can watch every day as the mountains green up!

Summer - Thick green leaves. We have more varieties of trees than anywhere outside of the Amazon!

Fall - Specular. Colors, colors, colors. Cool nights and warm days. Fabulous.
