Beautiful and lovely place to stay

Maria and Mario are the perfect hosts. The property is located near the hilltop village of Belforte .it overlooks the Tuscan hills and is an ideal location to relax. You maybe lucky to see wild deer and boar.there are many hiking routes nearby through the forests.the property is spotlessly clean and has all that you require. This was our second visit and we will go again

Beautiful location and cottage

The owners are lovely people and the cottage is clean. The views from the terrace over the Tuscan countryside are divine. Wirhin easy reach of Florence Sienna Pisa and Voltera although a car is a must. If you like peace and quiet then this is the place.

Very clean and spacious, nice and relaxing

We had a fantastic week at Mario and MariaPia's property. It was unbelievably peaceful and the view from the terrace is just so calming and beautiful. House is spacious and very clean with everything you would need. Great location with lots to see and do within 1.5 hrs drive. It really is a superb landscape and we loved driving around as every road has stunning views. Mario and MariaPia were just so hospitable and welcoming. They were also very helpful in giving advice on things to do and how to get there. It was a treat to have met them, so nice. We would not hesitate to go back, beautiful!

Perfect Property in a Perfect Location

This is the third time in four years that we have stayed here. We love the place so much. Maria Pia and Mario (the owners) are like old friends now. We are made to feel so welcome it is a real drag to leave at the end of the stay. There are many places to visit in the area and this year we found a hidden gem near to Colle di Val d'Elsa - a Roman Etrusian baths just off the main road. We also saw lots of wildlife, the highlights being Short Toed Snake Eagles, deer in the garden and on the last day a Pine Marten in the apple tree next to the outdoor sitting area. We will definitely return again.

The beauty of Belforte

Every time my thoughts go back to our holiday at Podere Casino, it brings a smile to my face. Why? Because we had: Wonderful mornings - the view from the cottage early in the morning is heartwarming: sunshine, songs of birds and beautiful green Tuscan hills Great afternoons - in the afternoon you are welcomed by cats and their owners Maria Pia and Mario: you get a friendly knock on the door and they make sure you've got everything you need: from flowers in and outside the house to maps and information about the neighbourhood. And... lovely evenings - the evenings are cosy and quiet: the sound and warmth of the fireplace makes you feel happy and long for more Italian experiences. Ciao! A+R

What a Fabulous Place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. This part of Tuscany is beautiful. Maria Pia and Mario are two of the nicest people you could meet. They were always on hand to give helpful advice on where to visit, where to park, etc but were also respectful of your privacy. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The views from the cottage were stunning and there was plenty of wildlife and birds on your doorstep (Golden Orioles, Hoopoes, Scops Owls, deer and wild boar, etc). Plenty of lovely towns to visit and soak up the atmosphere with a coffee or a beer. We loved Monteriggioni. We loved the area and cottage so much that we will definately return.

Wonderful stay!

We enjoyed very much our stay in this Belforte cottage: the area is very quiet, many interest points nearby (Siena, San Giminiano, Volterra, San Galgano, Massa Marittima, etc.). The state of the cottage is excellent, it is well-equipped and extremely clean. There is a nice view on the hills from the terrace where we had our meals. The owners Mariapia and Mario are warm and helpful while respecting our privacy. We appreciated a lot the wild nature (birds, deers, butterflies) and the strolls on hiking paths between charming villages. The description of the Rental is very accurate, we definitely recommend it! P.S. The restaurant in the closest hamlet (La Fornace) is definitely a place to test!

Enjoyed every moment of it

We have spent a week in this great place. Everything was just perfect: the house, the nature around, nice village of Belforte, very well located for the visits of the region. Plenty of possibilities for walks in a beautiful countryside which surrounds the house. As for the house itself, it is new, very well equipped, gives the feeling of real home and it is actually much better that it seems on the pictures. The hosts are extremely nice people. We wish we could give it six stars!

Although off of the beaten track, the directions given meant we had no difficulty finding the cottage. We were warmly welcomed by Maria and Mario and kindly provided us with wine and other Tuscany treats. During our 8 day stay, both Maria and Mario were both extremely helpful, recommending places to visit, eat and even the best places to park for bus trips to Sienna and Florence. Their company, along with their personal tales, were very entertaining. A highlight of our holiday was sharing their company at La Pergola (a pizzeria in the nearby village Radicondoli). Driving around was easy and although the roads were twisty, they were quiet and safe. Overall, and despite abnormal weather for late May, we had a fantastic time. The cottage's layout and excellent facilities, were far better than expected. We would not normally revisit the same destination so soon, but we are unable to resist the charm of this lovely cottage and it's delightful owners, so have booked to return in August. A real treat and thoroughly recommended.

A relaxing three weeks!

My husband and I drove down this rugged road wondering what we would discover at the end! There was a well kept secluded cottage with Mountain views and a covered patio area with table & chairs. The peace and serenity was just what we had hoped for during our month long stay. It is a great location to use a home base and tour the medieval villages. A car is a must but we enjoyed taking the bus to Sienna, 45 minutes and Florence, over an hour, to avoid traffic & parking. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had a full well equipped kitchen. Maria Pia and Mario took great care to insure we had everything we needed. I inquired about an iron & ironing board and 2 days later they appeared at our door with them. The next day Mario strung a clothes line along with a huge rack dryer for us. They were always helpful with directions and suggestions of near by villages to visit. There were many days Mario would appear at our door with fresh delicious figs, grapes and peaches from their vines and trees. We did not want to leave these dear new friends who treated us like family. We would return with great joy.

Very nice but in the middle of nowhere....

Despite having rain for 4 out of the 7 days we were there, we all had a good time on this holiday. The cottage itself is new, very clean and has every conceivable amenity. We particularly enjoyed getting the wood-burning stove going which saved on central heating costs. MariaPia and Mario were the perfect hosts. They were very kind and helpful and both spoke (almost) perfect English. You will either love or hate the location because it is truly isolated being 20km down winding roads to get anywhere, including the nearest supermarket. Nevertheless we managed to visit Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and the Chianti region without too much difficulty. We loved them all but San Gimignano was by far our favourite.. There is a network of unpaved gravel roads all around (and to) the property so those who enjoy walking and watching for wildlife will benefit most from the isolation. However, none of the roads is flat! Because of the rain we weren't able to take full advantage of this. We weren't too impressed by the restaurant in the closest village but it was the only one we tried. If you want to get away from it all and, like us, you don't find much charm in some old converted barn, then we highly recommend it.

Wir haben uns herzlich willkommen und rundum wohl gefühlt. Das Haus und der Ausblick sind noch besser, als auf den Fotos. Eine Oase der Ruhe und ein Hort der Gastfreundschaft. In der Dämmerung kann man von der Terrasse Hirsche und Wildschweine beobachten. In Belforte gibt es das beste Brot zu kaufen, was wir in der Toskana gefunden haben. Nachts schläft man ruhig, wie ein Säugling und wird morgens mur vom Vogelgezwitscher geweckt. Ein Traum, vielen Dank an Maria und Mario!

A gem

We had an amazing stay! Our hosts, Maria and Mario are wonderful, genuine people. They were full of tips and suggestions, booked restaurants for us and even took us to a Dr when needed, but never intruded on our privacy. The house is a delight. It much exceeded our expectations. The photos can't do it justice. The view of the unspoilt countryside is stunning. We watched deer almost daily feeding in the grassy meadows below at dawn or dusk, and the fire flies flitting around in the dark countryside at night! We even saw a fox on our walk along the track from the house through the forest and meadows down to the river. The new terrace surrounding the house is very tasteful, with tables, chairs and loungers on just about every side of the house. We loved the fact that it is off the busy tourist trail, and that the nearby hilltop villages of Belforte and Radicondoli are so unspoilt and picturesque. Yet Sienna and the coast are also easily accessible within an hour not to mention many other wonderful little Tuscan towns. The only downside is the bumpy road leading to the house, but it is bearable when taken slowly. In summary we highly recommend it!

True peace in the heart of Tuscany

All was very nice, especially the hosts - answered our questions and helped out with the dining (can be hard in the countryside!) House is very clean and extremely quiet, as it neighbors just the owners house and one more. Other than that just beautiful hills of Tuscany, almost exclusively for you

geweldig!

Na een hobbelig onverhard weggetje kom je aan bij een prima verzorgd huisje met een mega uitzicht, waar je geen genoeg van kunt krijgen. Hartelijke eigenaren, behulpzaam. Wel rekening houden met lange reistijden voor boodschappen in verband met de kronkelige wegen, verder meer dan top, met een heerlijk bed.

Das Haus von Maria Pia und Mario ist top - sehr sauber und in einem guten Zustand. Man merkt, dass beide viel Herzblut in die Einrichtung stecken. Die Eigentümer sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Zalige rust in comfortabel huis met mooi uitzicht

Lieve ontvangst door de eigenaars met lekker flesje wijn en zoetigheid van de streek. Al het nodige om lekker te kunnen koken is aanwezig, het bed is heel comfortabel, overal aan ramen en deuren vliegenramen zodat muggen buiten blijven… leuk terrasje om buiten te eten.

Silence, nature au cœur de la Toscane

Der Empfang war herzlich, die Betrueung vorort sehr gut. Die Umgebung ist sehr ländlich und der Weg ins Dorf ein schöner Fußweg. Weit weg vom Touristentrubel eine gute Einkehr.

Wonderful place to relax

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus.

Ruhige Lage. Toller Blick in die Landschaft. Haus sehr gut ausgestattet. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten im Umkreis von 50 km ( Auto allerdings notwendig ). Wanderungen ab Haus möglich. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber.

Heerlijk rustig!

Dit huisje in Radicondoli ligt midden in de bergen en heeft een fantastisch uitzicht. Vanuit de slaapkamer zie je de zonsopkomst en dat is fantastisch wakker worden... Het schattige huisje heeft alles wat je nodig hebt en er is buiten ook voldoende plek om te relaxen. Snachts hoor je echt helemaal niets! Mario is erg vriendelijk en hij heeft ons veel leuke tips gegeven om te doen en te zien. Het huisje ligt wel erg afgelegen en in deze tijd van het jaar is het vroeg donker, en zonder straatverlichting in de bergen is het best spannend rijden....

Agréable gîte très fonctionnel.
