Peaceful location, lovely owners
We originally booked this villa for a week but as the time got nearer we discovered that there was noone in before us so we booked a few extra days. We drove to the villa and Chris (the owner) offered to meet us nearby to show us the location as it is a little tricky to find first time but we were happy to locate it ourselves having located it first on Google Maps.
First impressions were pleasing. The villa is in a lovely quiet location but within easy driving distance of small towns and conveniences. You do need a car if you are staying here. The outside space is clean and theres plenty of it. There are bicycles available, table tennis, dart board and of course the pool. The pool is a good size and there is ample space at the shallow end for children/non-swimmers. Chris keeps the pool clean daily although he is an early bird so you probably won't see him.
Inside the villa the kitchen is well equipped and unlike other villas we have stayed at, there were bin bags, toilet rolls, washing up liquid, tea towels and even a selection of herbs, salt and pepper. As anyone who stays in villas will appreciate these little things make a big difference. The outside bin is emptied each day so you don't need to worry about rubbish being left around.
The villa was lovely and clean, the beds made up as we required them (there were 6 of us) and extra bedding if you needed it. All towels were supplied including pool towels which definitely helps with keeping the luggage down. In the living room there is a laptop available with wifi, a dvd player and satelite/cable tv. There were only a few english channels we could find and we didn't use the dvd player. There are also a range of books available to read.
Unfortunately for us, our car broke down whilst we were there and although this was not Chris' problem he was very helpful and spoke to garages and recovery people on our behalf as we do not speak Spanish. He and Nuria (his wife) also enabled us to print off paperwork that was needed for the garage. Without them I am not sure how we would have sorted the paperwork out.
We had a lovely stay at Can Albert and will definitely be going back in the future. We would recommend this villa if you like your own space and peace and quiet. There is plenty to do in the area if you are so inclined but if like us you just like to take time out and relax then here is perfect.
