Rip it up and start again

This hotel is over priced. I think they should shut it down and start again, i think it's beyond help. The staff do not care. You check yourself in, you don't get told anything when you check in, you don't get asked how yr stay is when u check out, your room does not get cleaned when u ask for ut to be cleaned, the staff do not speak when u walk past them, i do not think the floor in my room has ever been cleaned. The bed is comfy and there is a fridge in the room. There is a cvs nearby and a lovely cafe across the road that i reccommend for great coffee called delucia and a great dive bar called teds hideaway nearby. This hotel is beyond help.

Let me start with the positives; The staff Luis and Axel very helpful and go above for their guests to have the best experience! (They are the reason my review is not 1 star) The hotel is in a nice location, a walk away from the beach and the beds are very comfortable. However, I personally would not stay in this hotel again, it’s massively disappointing in terms of cleanliness and attention to detail. On arrival we were given barely any information by one of the female staff members, she just provided our room number and code. The corridors stunk of damp and all kinds of smells, the walls are paper thin, the room felt damp and sticky., we had no towels on arrival and when they did arrive, they were covered in stains. Our room was not cleaned and we had to request this multiple times before they finally did. Since checking out, I noticed a payment had been taken from my credit card without my authorisation on the day we left the accommodation, when there was no outstanding balance for the room. I’ve contacted the hotel multiple times before receiving an unclear / rude response. my advice is DO NOT STAY HERE, If cleanliness and honesty is a huge must for you.

The Meridian is a really nice hotel in a nice area only 10-15 minute walk to a quieter part of South Beach, there are many good cafes & restaurants in close walking distance. You can rent bikes from the hotel by downloading an app & you get the first 2hrs free so great for cycling on the a south beach boardwalk. The reason I have only given a 3 star rating, is there is a small bar attached to the hotel which is open until 4am & has outside seating, we had a ground floor room & could hear constant noise from 11pm when we went to bed until the early hours, our first night there was a group arguing & we did speak to the receptionist to see if we could change rooms & they said they would see what they could do but didn’t come back to us, we also had an issue with our VIP drinks voucher which was sorted in the end but was a bit of a hassle. The reception staff were not consistent, some were helpful but others not so much. We had a nice room with a lovely terrace but it looked over a car park but it wasn’t noisy that side. Overall a nice hotel but be aware of the bar attached.

In all honesty I didn’t feel the Meridian Hotel met our standards. It was nice enough but felt a bit misled by the photos when we visited. We had to request a fridge in our room and the elevator was broken whilst we were there so had to manually move our suitcases about. Staff were friendly though and they helped us with our luggage. You can only get water downstairs at the bar. The overall experience didn’t feel like a four star experience but the location was good.

The location is great. The internet works. Otherwise, not a great hotel experience. Not worth the money (and it is utterly laughable that someone rated this as an “upscale 4 star hotel”). Ignore the “we apologise your stay didn’t meet your expectations” nonsense that will inevitably follow my review. Here’s the lowdown: 1. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everyone above and below you, and to both sides. 2. The guy in the room next to me got locked INSIDE his bathroom. The workmen spent the next hour banging and shaking the entire hotel trying to fix the problem. 3. They do not do daily housekeeping. You have to “schedule” housekeeping at the front desk. There’s often a huge line (10+ minutes). If you call the front desk, they put you on hold for ever with annoying crackly music. And when you do finally get to speak with someone, they then tell you they’ll come “anytime between 12 and 5” - so you have no idea when they’ll actually come. This is supposedly a four star hotel and you have to spend 15 minutes each day to schedule housekeeping as if they’re doing you a favor. Can you imagine doing that at a Hilton? 4. The bath towels. They’re literally laughable. Two tiny hand towels. They’re basically flannels. Literally - you’ll actually laugh out loud. 5. The bed. It sags in the middle. It’s creaky when you move. It feels cheap. Like it’s gonna break at any moment (i’m 180lbs). 6. The “desk”. Is tiny. If you want to work remotely here - good luck.

The Meridian, Miami

On first arrival all seemed good. Clean room with all we needed, if not a little minimalist. All white, no colour. Days 2 & 3 we had no towels until having to ask twice, including going down to reception as the phone system didn’t work. Days 2, 3 & 4 no bath mat to step out on to. A toilet that would either not flush or ran/gurgled all night despite maintenance looking at it. The big downer for our group though was that they rent out the pool and patio area area to locals for private functions and you don’t find this out until you get back late afternoon looking forward to a chilling out & relaxing time by the pool, following a long hot day out and about. The staff weren’t bothered and the manager wouldn’t stay to see us to discuss. And don’t expect emails to be answered!!! Thanks to Hotels.com for their assistance.

It was an okay hotel. It was not perfect but I had a good stay and the staff was friendly. Wifi was not the best, breakfast was mid and the cafe could have had better selections. But I had a nice stay. It is not a 4 star hotel

Lovely hotel just be careful on which rooms you ge

Great hotel which is comfortable and well maintained. I would avoid any of the rooms facing the pool / near to the bar as the bar has a license to operate until 5 am and is really noisy. The noise is made worse by people constantly opening the door which made the music even louder. Staff were very helpful and we moved rooms and had a lovely, quiet room after that which helped
