A tired hotel desperately in need of an upgrade
Our experience didn't start particularly well. Check in was supposed to be after 3pm. We arrived well after that but had to wait about half an hour or more to check in, around 4.40pm. When we got to our room it was set up as a double; I had asked on booking for a twin. The hotel were luckily able to move us to a room with twin beds. The room was OK but way smaller and less nicely decorated than the photos show. It was very scruff and seemed grubby from years of use, desperately in need of a major upgrade. The hotel also had work going on to waterproof a large outdoor terrace 3 floors below; the noise woke us up each morning. I was disappointed and won't be going back.

Overall the place is not bad, and the location is very convenient. The apartment is nice and big, but a bit old. They don’t clean everyday, so eventually the apartment gets dirty if you’re staying for a few days. We asked for housekeeping several times for them to eventually send someone, and they only changed the bedsheets, not even cleaned the room. Staff were friendly and helpful overall.

Excellent hotel for the price. Spacious apartment, and the kitchen was well equipped. Fantastic location with easy access to metro and bus. Staff very friendly. Only slight negative was that the bed was quite hard, so if you are used to a soft mattress, you might not like that. Also no housekeeping during your stay. They do mention this when you check in and say if you want additional towels, you only have to ask, which we did, but for the money, you would expect to have someone restock toilet paper, towels, soap etc at least once during a 5 day stay. Not an issue for one or two nights.

Well located: I reached most of the main sights on one day walking; spacious, everything that you need without luxury or pretending to be (nor expected). Staff very nice, delightful to have hot drinks available for guests, very close to metro stations, and supermarkets which is great with a little kitchen in the room, as well as plenty of restaurants and life nearby. It was a bit noisy: could hear the road, the trains, people outside, neighbouring rooms moving furniture, never annoying enough that I couldn't sleep or it was a massive disruption at least for my standards.
